NEW AMERICAN BIBLEKING JAMES BIBLE
Give thanks to the LORD, invoke his name; make known among the peoples his deeds!1 O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.
Sing praise, play music; proclaim all his wondrous deeds!2 Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.
Glory in his holy name; rejoice, O hearts that seek the LORD!3 Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.
Rely on the mighty LORD; constantly seek his face.4 Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore.
Recall the wondrous deeds he has done, his signs and his words of judgment,5 Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;
You descendants of Abraham his servant, offspring of Jacob the chosen one!6 O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.
The LORD is our God who rules the whole earth.7 He is the LORD our God: his judgments are in all the earth.
He remembers forever his covenant, the pact imposed for a thousand generations,8 He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.
Which was made with Abraham, confirmed by oath to Isaac,9 Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac;
And ratified as binding for Jacob, an everlasting covenant for Israel:10 And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:
"To you I give the land of Canaan, your own allotted heritage."11 Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance:
When they were few in number, a handful, and strangers there,12 When they were but a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it.
Wandering from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another,13 When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people;
He let no one oppress them; for their sake he rebuked kings:14 He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes;
" Do not touch my anointed, to my prophets do no harm."15 Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.
Then he called down a famine on the land, destroyed the grain that sustained them.16 Moreover he called for a famine upon the land: he brake the whole staff of bread.
He had sent a man ahead of them, Joseph, sold as a slave.17 He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant:
They shackled his feet with chains; collared his neck in iron,18 Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron:
Till his prediction came to pass, and the word of the LORD proved him true.19 Until the time that his word came: the word of the LORD tried him.
The king sent and released him; the ruler of peoples set him free.20 The king sent and loosed him; even the ruler of the people, and let him go free.
He made him lord over his palace, ruler over all his possessions,21 He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his substance:
To instruct his princes by his word, to teach his elders wisdom.22 To bind his princes at his pleasure; and teach his senators wisdom.
Then Israel entered Egypt; Jacob lived in the land of Ham.23 Israel also came into Egypt; and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.
God greatly increased his people, made them too many for their foes.24 And he increased his people greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies.
He turned their hearts to hate his people, to treat his servants unfairly.25 He turned their heart to hate his people, to deal subtilly with his servants.
He sent his servant Moses, Aaron whom he had chosen.26 He sent Moses his servant; and Aaron whom he had chosen.
They worked his signs in Egypt and wonders in the land of Ham.27 They shewed his signs among them, and wonders in the land of Ham.
He sent darkness and it grew dark, but they rebelled against his word.28 He sent darkness, and made it dark; and they rebelled not against his word.
He turned their waters into blood and killed all their fish.29 He turned their waters into blood, and slew their fish.
Their land swarmed with frogs, even the chambers of their kings.30 Their land brought forth frogs in abundance, in the chambers of their kings.
He spoke and there came swarms of flies, gnats through all their country.31 He spake, and there came divers sorts of flies, and lice in all their coasts.
For rain he gave them hail, flashes of lightning throughout their land.32 He gave them hail for rain, and flaming fire in their land.
He struck down their vines and fig trees, shattered the trees of their country.33 He smote their vines also and their fig trees; and brake the trees of their coasts.
He spoke and the locusts came, grass hoppers without number.34 He spake, and the locusts came, and caterpillers, and that without number,
They devoured every plant in the land; they ravaged the crops of their fields.35 And did eat up all the herbs in their land, and devoured the fruit of their ground.
He struck down every firstborn in the land, the first fruits of all their vigor.36 He smote also all the firstborn in their land, the chief of all their strength.
He brought his people out, laden with silver and gold; no stragglers among the tribes.37 He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.
Egypt rejoiced when they left, for panic had seized them.38 Egypt was glad when they departed: for the fear of them fell upon them.
He spread a cloud as a cover, and made a fire to light up the night.39 He spread a cloud for a covering; and fire to give light in the night.
They asked and he brought them quail; with bread from heaven he filled them.40 The people asked, and he brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.
He split the rock and water gushed forth; it flowed through the desert like a river.41 He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river.
For he remembered his sacred word to Abraham his servant.42 For he remembered his holy promise, and Abraham his servant.
He brought his people out with joy, his chosen ones with shouts of triumph.43 And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness:
He gave them the lands of the nations, the wealth of the peoples to own,44 And gave them the lands of the heathen: and they inherited the labour of the people;
That they might keep his laws and observe his teachings. Hallelujah!45 That they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise ye the LORD.
