Psalms 105

1 Give thanks to the LORD, invoke his name; make known among the peoples his deeds!	1 CELEBRATE il Signore; predicate il suo Nome; Fate assapere i suoi fatti fra i popoli.
2 Sing praise, play music; proclaim all his wondrous deeds!	2 Cantategli, salmeggiategli, Ragionate di tutte le sue maraviglie.
3 Glory in his holy name; rejoice, O hearts that seek the LORD!	3 Gloriatevi nel Nome della sua santità; Rallegrisi il cuor di coloro che cercano il Signore.
4 Rely on the mighty LORD; constantly seek his face.	4 Cercate il Signore, e la sua forza; Cercate del continuo la sua faccia.
5 Recall the wondrous deeds he has done, his signs and his words of judgment,	5 Ricordate le sue maraviglie ch’egli ha fatte; I suoi miracoli e i giudicii della sua bocca;
6 You descendants of Abraham his servant, offspring of Jacob the chosen one!	6 O voi, progenie d’Abrahamo, suo servitore; Figliuoli di Giacobbe, suoi eletti.
7 The LORD is our God who rules the whole earth.	7 Egli è il Signore Iddio nostro; I suoi giudicii son per tutta la terra
8 He remembers forever his covenant, the pact imposed for a thousand generations,	8 Egli si ricorda in eterno del suo patto, E in mille generazioni della parola ch’egli ha comandata;
9 Which was made with Abraham, confirmed by oath to Isaac,	9 Del suo patto, ch’egli fece con Abrahamo; E del suo giuramento, ch’egli fece ad Isacco;
10 And ratified as binding for Jacob, an everlasting covenant for Israel:	10 Il quale egli confermò a Giacobbe per istatuto, E ad Israele per patto eterno;
11 "To you I give the land of Canaan, your own allotted heritage."	11 Dicendo: Io ti darò il paese di Canaan, Per sorte della vostra eredità.
12 When they were few in number, a handful, and strangers there,	12 Quantunque fosser ben poca gente, E forestieri in esso.
13 Wandering from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another,	13 E mentre essi andavano da una gente ad un’altra, Da un regno ad un altro popolo,
14 He let no one oppress them; for their sake he rebuked kings:	14 Egli non permise che alcuno li oppressasse; Anzi gastigò eziandio dei re per amor loro,
15 " Do not touch my anointed, to my prophets do no harm."	15 E disse: Non toccate i miei unti, E non fate alcun male a’ miei profeti.
16 Then he called down a famine on the land, destroyed the grain that sustained them.	16 Poi egli chiamò la fame sopra la terra; E ruppe tutto il sostegno del pane.
17 He had sent a man ahead of them, Joseph, sold as a slave.	17 Egli aveva mandato dinanzi a loro un uomo, Cioè Giuseppe, che fu venduto per servo;
18 They shackled his feet with chains; collared his neck in iron,	18 I cui piedi furono serrati ne’ ceppi; La cui persona fu messa ne’ ferri.
19 Till his prediction came to pass, and the word of the LORD proved him true.	19 La parola del Signore lo tenne al cimento, Fino al tempo che venne ciò ch’egli aveva detto.
20 The king sent and released him; the ruler of peoples set him free.	20 Allora il re mandò a farlo sciorre; Il dominator di popoli mandò a largheggiarlo.
21 He made him lord over his palace, ruler over all his possessions,	21 Egli lo costituì padrone sopra la sua casa, E rettore sopra tutto il suo stato;
22 To instruct his princes by his word, to teach his elders wisdom.	22 Per tenere a freno i suoi principi a suo senno; E per dare ammaestramento a’ suoi anziani.
23 Then Israel entered Egypt; Jacob lived in the land of Ham.	23 Poi Israele entrò in Egitto; E Giacobbe dimorò come forestiere nel paese di Cam.
24 God greatly increased his people, made them too many for their foes.	24 E Iddio fece grandemente moltiplicare il suo popolo; E lo rendè più possente che i suoi nemici
25 He turned their hearts to hate his people, to treat his servants unfairly.	25 Egli rivolse il cuor loro a odiare il suo popolo, A macchinar frode contro a’ suoi servitori.
26 He sent his servant Moses, Aaron whom he had chosen.	26 Egli mandò Mosè, suo servitore; Ed Aaronne, il quale egli aveva eletto.
27 They worked his signs in Egypt and wonders in the land of Ham.	27 Essi eseguirono fra loro i miracoli ch’egli aveva loro detti, E i suoi prodigi nella terra di Cam.
28 He sent darkness and it grew dark, but they rebelled against his word.	28 Egli mandò le tenebre, e fece oscurar l’aria; Ed essi non furono ribelli alle sue parole.
29 He turned their waters into blood and killed all their fish.	29 Egli cangiò le acque loro in sangue, E fece morire il lor pesce.
30 Their land swarmed with frogs, even the chambers of their kings.	30 La terra loro produsse rane, Ch’entrarono fin nelle camere de’ loro re.
31 He spoke and there came swarms of flies, gnats through all their country.	31 Alla sua parola venne una mischia d’insetti, E pidocchi in tutte le lor contrade.
32 For rain he gave them hail, flashes of lightning throughout their land.	32 Egli mutò le lor pioggie in gragnuola, E in fuoco divampante nel lor paese;
33 He struck down their vines and fig trees, shattered the trees of their country.	33 E percosse le lor vigne, e i lor fichi; E fracassò gli alberi della lor contrada.
34 He spoke and the locusts came, grass hoppers without number.	34 Alla sua parola vennero locuste, E bruchi senza numero;
35 They devoured every plant in the land; they ravaged the crops of their fields.	35 Che rosero tutta l’erba nel lor paese, E mangiarono il frutto della lor terra.
36 He struck down every firstborn in the land, the first fruits of all their vigor.	36 Poi egli percosse ogni primogenito nel lor paese, Le primizie d’ogni lor forza.
37 He brought his people out, laden with silver and gold; no stragglers among the tribes.	37 E condusse fuori Israele con oro e con argento; E non vi fu alcuno, fra le sue tribù, che fosse fiacco.
38 Egypt rejoiced when they left, for panic had seized them.	38 Gli Egizi si rallegrarono della lor partita; Perciocchè lo spavento di essi era caduto sopra loro.
39 He spread a cloud as a cover, and made a fire to light up the night.	39 Egli distese la nuvola, per coverta; Ed accese un fuoco, per alluminarli di notte.
40 They asked and he brought them quail; with bread from heaven he filled them.	40 Alla lor richiesta egli addusse delle quaglie, E li saziò del pane del cielo.
41 He split the rock and water gushed forth; it flowed through the desert like a river.	41 Egli aperse la roccia, e ne colarono acque; Rivi corsero per i luoghi aridi.
42 For he remembered his sacred word to Abraham his servant.	42 Perciocchè egli si ricordò della parola della sua santità, Detta ad Abrahamo, suo servitore;
43 He brought his people out with joy, his chosen ones with shouts of triumph.	43 E trasse fuori il suo popolo con allegrezza, E i suoi eletti con giubilo;
44 He gave them the lands of the nations, the wealth of the peoples to own,	44 E diede loro i paesi delle genti; Ed essi possedettero le fatiche de’ popoli;
45 That they might keep his laws and observe his teachings. Hallelujah!	45 Acciocchè osservassero i suoi statuti, E guardassero le sue leggi. Alleluia
