Psalms 115

KING JAMES BIBLE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake.	1 Not to us, Yahweh, not to us, but to your name give the glory, for your faithful love and yourconstancy!
2 Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God?	2 Why should the nations ask, 'Where is their God?'
3 But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.	3 Our God is in heaven, he creates whatever he chooses.
4 Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.	4 They have idols of silver and gold, made by human hands.
5 They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not:	5 These have mouths but say nothing, have eyes but see nothing,
6 They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:	6 have ears but hear nothing, have noses but smel nothing.
7 They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat.	7 They have hands but cannot feel, have feet but cannot walk, no sound comes from their throats.
8 They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them.	8 Their makers wil end up like them, and al who rely on them.
9 O Israel, trust thou in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.	9 House of Israel, rely on Yahweh; he is their help and their shield.
10 O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.	10 House of Aaron, rely on Yahweh; he is their help and their shield.
11 Ye that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.	11 You who fear Yahweh, rely on Yahweh; he is their help and their shield.
12 The LORD hath been mindful of us: he will bless us; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron.	12 Yahweh wil keep us in mind, he will bless, he wil bless the House of Israel, he wil bless the Houseof Aaron,
13 He will bless them that fear the LORD, both small and great.	13 he wil bless those who fear Yahweh, small and great alike.
14 The LORD shall increase you more and more, you and your children.	14 May Yahweh add to your numbers, yours and your children's too!
15 Ye are blessed of the LORD which made heaven and earth.	15 May you be blessed by Yahweh, who made heaven and earth.
16 The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD's: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.	16 Heaven belongs to Yahweh, but earth he has given to the children of Adam.
17 The dead praise not the LORD, neither any that go down into silence.	17 The dead cannot praise Yahweh, those who sink into silence,
18 But we will bless the LORD from this time forth and for evermore. Praise the LORD.	18 but we, the living, shal bless Yahweh, henceforth and for ever.
