Der Brief an Philemon 1

EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL	DOUAI-RHEIMS
1 Paulus, Gefangener Christi Jesu, und der Bruder Timotheus an unseren geliebten Mitarbeiter Philemon,	1 Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy, a brother: to Philemon, our beloved and fellow labourer;
2 an die Schwester Aphia, an Archippus, unseren Mitstreiter, und an die Gemeinde in deinem Haus:	2 And to Appia, our dearest sister, and to Archippus, our fellow soldier, and to the church which is in thy house:
3 Gnade sei mit euch und Friede von Gott, unserem Vater, und dem Herrn Jesus Christus.	3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
4 Ich danke meinem Gott jedes Mal, wenn ich in meinen Gebeten an dich denke.	4 I give thanks to my God, always making a remembrance of thee in my prayers.
5 Denn ich höre von deinem Glauben an Jesus, den Herrn, und von deiner Liebe zu allen Heiligen.	5 Hearing of thy charity and faith, which thou hast in the Lord Jesus, and towards all the saints:
6 Ich wünsche, dass unser gemeinsamer Glaube in dir wirkt und du all das Gute in uns erkennst, das auf Christus gerichtet ist.	6 That the communication of thy faith may be made evident in the acknowledgment of every good work, that is in you in Christ Jesus.
7 Es hat mir viel Freude und Trost bereitet, dass durch dich, Bruder, und durch deine Liebe die Heiligen ermutigt worden sind.	7 For I have had great joy and consolation in thy charity, because the bowels of the saints have been refreshed by thee, brother.
8 Obwohl ich durch Christus volle Freiheit habe, dir zu befehlen, was du tun sollst,	8 Wherefore though I have much confidence in Christ Jesus, to command thee that which is to the purpose:
9 ziehe ich es um der Liebe willen vor, dich zu bitten. Ich, Paulus, ein alter Mann, der jetzt für Christus Jesus im Kerker liegt,	9 For charity sake I rather beseech, whereas thou art such a one, as Paul an old man, and now a prisoner also of Jesus Christ.
10 ich bitte dich für mein Kind Onesimus, dem ich im Gefängnis zum Vater geworden bin.	10 I beseech thee for my son, whom I have begotten in my bands, Onesimus,
11 Früher konntest du ihn zu nichts gebrauchen, doch jetzt ist er dir und mir recht nützlich.	11 Who hath been heretofore unprofitable to thee, but now is profitable both to me and thee,
12 Ich schicke ihn zu dir zurück, ihn, das bedeutet mein eigenes Herz.	12 Whom I have sent back to thee. And do thou receive him as my own bowels.
13 Ich würde ihn gern bei mir behalten, damit er mir an deiner Stelle dient, solange ich um des Evangeliums willen im Gefängnis bin.	13 Whom I would have retained with me, that in thy stead he might have ministered to me in the bands of the gospel:
14 Aber ohne deine Zustimmung wollte ich nichts tun. Deine gute Tat soll nicht erzwungen, sondern freiwillig sein.	14 But without thy counsel I would do nothing: that thy good deed might not be as it were of necessity, but voluntary.
15 Denn vielleicht wurde er nur deshalb eine Weile von dir getrennt, damit du ihn für ewig zurückerhälst,	15 For perhaps he therefore departed for a season from thee, that thou mightest receive him again for ever:
16 nicht mehr als Sklaven, sondern als weit mehr: als geliebten Bruder. Das ist er jedenfalls für mich, um wie viel mehr dann für dich, als Mensch und auch vor dem Herrn.	16 Not now as a servant, but instead of a servant, a most dear brother, especially to me: but how much more to thee both in the flesh and in the Lord?
17 Wenn du dich mir verbunden fühlst, dann nimm ihn also auf wie mich selbst!	17 If therefore thou count me a partner, receive him as myself.
18 Wenn er dich aber geschädigt hat oder dir etwas schuldet, setz das auf meine Rechnung!	18 And if he hath wronged thee in any thing, or is in thy debt, put that to my account.
19 Ich, Paulus, schreibe mit eigener Hand: Ich werde es bezahlen - um nicht davon zu reden, dass du dich selbst mir schuldest.	19 I Paul have written it with my own hand: I will repay it: not to say to thee, that thou owest me thy own self also.
20 Ja, Bruder, um des Herrn willen möchte ich von dir einen Nutzen haben. Erfreue mein Herz; wir gehören beide zu Christus.	20 Yea, brother. May I enjoy thee in the Lord. Refresh my bowels in the Lord.
21 Ich schreibe dir im Vertrauen auf deinen Gehorsam und weiß, dass du noch mehr tun wirst, als ich gesagt habe.	21 Trusting in thy obedience, I have written to thee: knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say.
22 Bereite zugleich eine Unterkunft für mich vor! Denn ich hoffe, dass ich euch durch eure Gebete wiedergeschenkt werde.	22 But withal prepare me also a lodging. For I hope that through your prayers I shall be given unto you.
23 Es grüßen dich Epaphras, der mit mir um Christi Jesu willen im Gefängnis ist,	23 There salute thee Epaphras, my fellow prisoner in Christ Jesus;
24 sowie Markus, Aristarch, Demas und Lukas, meine Mitarbeiter.	24 Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, and Luke my fellow labourers.
25 Die Gnade Jesu Christi, des Herrn, sei mit eurem Geist!	25 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
