1 Im Anfang war das Wort, und das Wort war bei Gott, und das Wort war Gott.	1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and God was the Word.
2 Im Anfang war es bei Gott.	2 He was with God in the beginning.
3 Alles ist durch das Wort geworden und ohne das Wort wurde nichts, was geworden ist.	3 All things were made through Him, and nothing that was made was made without Him.
4 In ihm war das Leben und das Leben war das Licht der Menschen.	4 Life was in Him, and Life was the light of men.

33 Auch ich kannte ihn nicht; aber er, der mich gesandt hat, mit Wasser zu taufen, er hat mir gesagt: Auf wen du den Geist herabkommen siehst und auf wem er bleibt, der ist es, der mit dem Heiligen Geist tauft.	33 And I did not know him. But he who sent me to baptize with water said to me: ‘He over whom you will see the Spirit descending and remaining upon him, this is the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’
34 Das habe ich gesehen und ich bezeuge: Er ist der Sohn Gottes.	34 And I saw, and I gave testimony: that this one is the Son of God.”
35 Am Tag darauf stand Johannes wieder dort und zwei seiner Jünger standen bei ihm.	35 The next day again, John was standing with two of his disciples.
36 Als Jesus vorüberging, richtete Johannes seinen Blick auf ihn und sagte: Seht, das Lamm Gottes!	36 And catching sight of Jesus walking, he said, “Behold, the Lamb of God.”
