1 Weh der trotzigen, der schmutzigen, der gewalttätigen Stadt.	1 Woe to the provocatrix and the redeemed city, the dove.
2 Sie will nicht hören und nimmt sich keine Warnung zu Herzen. Sie verlässt sich nicht auf den Herrn und sucht nicht die Nähe ihres Gottes.	2 She has not heeded the voice, nor has she accepted discipline. She has not trusted in the Lord; she did not draw near to her God.
3 Ihre Fürsten sind brüllende Löwen. Ihre Richter sind wie Wölfe der Steppe, die bis zum Morgen keinen Knochen mehr übrig lassen.	3 Her leaders are in her midst like roaring lions. Her judges are evening wolves; they leave nothing for the morning.
4 Ihre Propheten sind freche Betrüger. Ihre Priester entweihen das Heilige und tun Gewalt dem Gesetz an.	4 Her prophets are crazed; men without faith. Her priests have polluted what is holy; they have acted unjustly against the law.
5 Aber der Herr tritt für das Recht ein in ihrer Mitte, er tut kein Unrecht. Morgen für Morgen fällt er das Urteil, es fehlt nie beim Aufgang des Lichts. 8 Darum wartet nur - Spruch des Herrn - auf den Tag, an dem ich auftreten werde als Kläger. Denn ich habe beschlossen: Völker will ich versammeln und Königreiche biete ich auf; dann schütte ich meinen Groll über sie aus, die ganze Glut meines Zorns. Denn vom Feuer meines Eifers wird die ganze Erde verzehrt.	8 Because of this, expect me, says the Lord, in the day of my resurrection in the future, for my judgment is to gather together the Gentiles, and to collect the kingdoms, and to pour out over them my indignation, all the fury of my anger. For by the fire of my zeal, all the earth will be devoured.
9 Dann werde ich die Lippen der Völker verwandeln in reine Lippen, damit alle den Namen des Herrn anrufen und ihm einmütig dienen.	9 For then I will restore to the people a chosen lip, so that all may invoke the name of the Lord and may serve him with one shoulder.
10 Von jenseits der Ströme von Kusch bringen mir meine Verehrer dann als Gabe die Gemeinde meiner Verstreuten.	10 From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia, my supplicants, the sons of my diaspora, will carry a gift to me.
11 An jenem Tag brauchst du dich nicht mehr zu schämen, wegen all deiner schändlichen Taten, die du gegen mich verübt hast. Ja, dann entferne ich aus deiner Mitte die überheblichen Prahler und du wirst nicht mehr hochmütig sein auf meinem heiligen Berg.	11 In that day, you will not be ashamed over all of your inventions, by which you have transgressed against me. For then I will take away from your midst your arrogant boasters, and you will no longer be exalted on my holy mountain.
12 Und ich lasse in deiner Mitte übrig ein demütiges und armes Volk, das seine Zuflucht sucht beim Namen des Herrn.	12 And I will bequeath into your midst a poor and needy people, and they will hope in the name of the Lord.
13 Der Rest von Israel wird kein Unrecht mehr tun und wird nicht mehr lügen, in ihrem Mund findet man kein unwahres Wort mehr. Ja, sie gehen friedlich auf die Weide und niemand schreckt sie auf, wenn sie ruhen.	13 The remnant of Israel will not do iniquity, nor speak lies, and a deceitful tongue will not be found in their mouth. For they will pasture and will recline, and there will be no one to strike them with terror.
14 Juble, Tochter Zion! Jauchze, Israel! Freu dich und frohlocke von ganzem Herzen, Tochter Jerusalem!	14 Give praise, daughter of Zion. Shout joyfully, Israel. Rejoice and exult with all your heart, daughter of Jerusalem.
15 Der Herr hat das Urteil gegen dich aufgehoben und deine Feinde zur Umkehr gezwungen. Der König Israels, der Herr, ist in deiner Mitte; du hast kein Unheil mehr zu fürchten.	15 The Lord has taken away your judgment; he has turned aside your foes. The king of Israel, the Lord, is in your midst; you shall no longer fear evil.
16 An jenem Tag wird man zu Jerusalem sagen: Fürchte dich nicht, Zion! Lass die Hände nicht sinken!	16 In that day, it will be said to Jerusalem, “Do not be afraid,” and to Zion, “Do not let your hands be weakened.”
17 Der Herr, dein Gott, ist in deiner Mitte, ein Held, der Rettung bringt. Er freut sich und jubelt über dich, er erneuert seine Liebe zu dir, er jubelt über dich und frohlockt, wie man frohlockt an einem Festtag.	17 The Lord your God is the strength in your midst; he will save. He will rejoice over you with gladness. In his love, he will be silent. He will exult over you with praise.
18 Ich mache deinem Unglück ein Ende, ich nehme die Schmach von dir.	18 The triflers who withdrew from the law, I will gather together, because they were from you, so that you may no longer suffer disgrace over them.
19 In jener Zeit vernichte ich alle, die dich unterdrücken. Ich helfe den Hinkenden und sammle die Verstreuten. Ich verschaffe ihnen Ruhm und Ansehen überall auf der Erde, wo sie Schmach erlitten.	19 Behold, I will execute all who have afflicted you in that time, and I will save those who are lame, and I will gather together her who had been cast out. 20 In jener Zeit bringe ich euch heim, in jener Zeit führe ich euch wieder zusammen. Ja, ich verleihe euch Ansehen und Ruhm bei allen Völkern der Erde, wenn ich euer Geschick wende. Ihr werdet es sehen, spricht der Herr.	20 in that time, when I will lead to you, and in the time when I will gather for you.
