Ezechiel 9

1 Und er schrie mir laut in die Ohren: Das Strafgericht über die Stadt ist nahe. Jeder soll sein Werkzeug zum Zertrümmern in die Hand nehmen.	1 Then he cried loud for me to hear: Come, you scourges of the city!
2 Da kamen sechs Männer vom oberen Tor, das im Norden liegt. Jeder hatte sein Werkzeug zum Zertrümmern in der Hand. Unter ihnen war auch ein Mann, der ein leinenes Gewand anhatte; an seinem Gürtel hing Schreibzeug. Sie kamen herein und stellten sich neben den Altar aus Bronze.	2 With that I saw six men coming from the direction of the upper gate which faces the north, each with a destroying weapon in his hand. In their midst was a man dressed in linen, with a writer's case at his waist. They entered and stood beside the bronze altar.
3 Die Herrlichkeit des Gottes Israels schwebte von den Kerubim, über denen sie war, hinüber zur Schwelle des Tempels. Er rief den Mann, der das leinene Gewand anhatte und an dessen Gürtel das Schreibzeug hing.	3 Then he called to the man dressed in linen with the writer's case at his waist,
4 Der Herr sagte zu ihm: Geh mitten durch die Stadt Jerusalem und schreib ein T auf die Stirn aller Männer, die über die in der Stadt begangenen Gräueltaten seufzen und stöhnen.	4 saying to him: Pass through the city (through Jerusalem) and mark an X on the foreheads of those who moan and groan over all the abominations that are practiced within it.
5 Und ich hörte, wie er zu den anderen sagte: Geht hinter ihm her durch die Stadt und schlagt zu! Euer Auge soll kein Mitleid zeigen, gewährt keine Schonung!	5 To the others I heard him say: Pass through the city after him and strike! Do not look on them with pity nor show any mercy!
6 Alt und jung, Mädchen, Kinder und Frauen sollt ihr erschlagen und umbringen. Doch von denen, die das T auf der Stirn haben, dürft ihr keinen anrühren. Beginnt in meinem Heiligtum! Da begannen sie bei den Ältesten, die vor dem Tempel standen.	6 Old men, youths and maidens, women and children--wipe them out! But do not touch any marked with the X; begin at my sanctuary. So they began with the men (the elders) who were in front of the temple.
7 Er sagte zu ihnen: Macht den Tempel unrein, füllt seine Höfe mit Erschlagenen! Dann geht hinaus und schlagt in der Stadt zu!	7 Defile the temple, he said to them, and fill the courts with the slain; then go out and strike in the city.
8 Sie schlugen zu und ich allein blieb übrig; da fiel ich nieder auf mein Gesicht und schrie: Ach, Herr und Gott, willst du deinen ganzen Zorn über Jerusalem ausschütten und auch noch den letzten Rest Israels vernichten?	8 As they began to strike, I was left alone. I fell prone, crying out, Alas, Lord GOD! Will you destroy all that is left of Israel when you pour out your fury on Jerusalem?"
9 Er sagte zu mir: Die Schuld des Hauses Israel und des Hauses Juda ist groß, ja übergroß. Das Land ist voll Blutschuld, die Stadt ist voll Unrecht. Sie sagen: Der Herr sieht es nicht; der Herr hat das Land verlassen.	9 He answered me: The sins of the house of Israel are great beyond measure; the land is filled with bloodshed, the city with lawlessness. They think that the LORD has forsaken the land, that he does not see them.
10 Darum zeigt mein Auge kein Mitleid und ich übe keine Schonung. Ihr Verhalten lasse ich auf sie selbst zurückfallen.	10 I, however, will not look upon them with pity, nor show any mercy. I will bring down their conduct upon their heads.
11 Und der Mann, der das leinene Gewand anhatte und an dessen Gürtel das Schreibzeug hing, (kam und) berichtete: Ich habe getan, was du mir befohlen hast.	11 Then I saw the man dressed in linen with the writing case at his waist make his report: "I have done as you ordered."
