1 Das sind die Namen der Stämme: Im Norden, entlang dem Weg von Hetlon nach Lebo-Hamat und nach Hazar- Enan - das Gebiet von Damaskus liegt dabei nördlich, seitlich von Hamat - gehört von Osten nach Westen Dan ein Anteil.	1 ' "This is the list of the tribes. One portion in the far north by way of Hethlon to the Pass of Hamath, toHazer-Enon, with the territory of Damascus to the north, and marching with Hamath, from the eastern limit to thewestern limit: Dan.
2 Neben dem Gebiet Dans von Osten nach Westen Ascher - ein Anteil;	2 One portion bordering Dan, from the eastern limit to the western limit: Asher.
3 neben dem Gebiet Aschers von Osten nach Westen Naftali - ein Anteil;	3 One portion bordering Asher, from the eastern limit to the western limit: Naphtali.
4 neben dem Gebiet Naftalis von Osten nach Westen Manasse - ein Anteil;	4 One portion bordering Naphtali, from the eastern limit to the western limit: Manasseh.

8 Neben dem Gebiet Judas liegt von Osten nach Westen das Land, das ihr (dem Herrn) als Abgabe entrichten sollt, 25000 Ellen breit und genauso lang wie jeder andere Anteil von Osten nach Westen. In der Mitte dieses Stückes liegt das Heiligtum.	8 One portion bordering Judah, from the eastern limit to the western limit, is the portion which you mustset aside, twenty-five thousand cubits wide, and as long as each of the other portions from the eastern limit tothe western limit. The sanctuary wil be in the centre of it.
9 Das Land, das ihr dem Herrn als Abgabe entrichtet, hat eine Länge von 25000 Ellen und eine Breite von 20000 Ellen.	9 "The portion which you must set aside for Yahweh must be twenty-five thousand cubits long and tenthousand cubits wide.
10 Die heilige Abgabe soll wie folgt eingeteilt werden: Den Priestern soll ein Stück gehören, das im Norden 25000 Ellen lang ist, im Westen und im Osten 10000 Ellen breit und im Süden auch 25000 Ellen lang. Das Heiligtum des Herrn soll in der Mitte liegen.	10 This sacred portion must belong to the priests, being, on the north side, twenty-five thousand cubits;on the west side ten thousand cubits wide, on the east side ten thousand cubits wide and on the south sidetwenty-five thousand cubits long; the sanctuary of Yahweh wil be in the centre of it.
11 Den geweihten Priestern aus den Nachkommen Zadoks, die ihren Dienst verrichtet und mich nicht verlassen haben, als die Israeliten ebenso in die Irre gingen wie die Leviten,	11 This wil be for the consecrated priests, those of the sons of Zadok who maintained my liturgy and didnot go astray with the straying Israelites, as the Levites went astray.
12 ihnen soll als Abgabe ein Stück von dem Land gehören, das ihr (dem Herrn) als Abgabe entrichtet habt; dieses Stück ist hochheilig und liegt neben dem Gebiet der Leviten.	12 And so their portion must be taken out of the especial y holy portion of the land, near the territory ofthe Levites.
13 Den Leviten soll wie den Priestern ein Gebiet von 25000 Ellen Länge und 10000 Ellen Breite gehören. Das Ganze hat also eine Länge von 25000 Ellen und eine Breite von 20000 Ellen.	13 The territory of the Levites, like the territory of the priests, must be twenty-five thousand cubits longand ten thousand wide -- the whole length being twenty-five thousand and the width ten thousand.
14 Man darf nichts davon verkaufen oder zum Tausch anbieten, noch darf man dieses beste Stück des Landes auf andere übertragen; denn es ist dem Herrn heilig.	14 It wil be il egal for them to sell or exchange any part of it, and the domain can never be alienated,since it is consecrated to Yahweh.
15 Die 5000 Ellen, die längs der 25000 Ellen in der Breite noch übrig bleiben, sind nicht heilig, sondern gehören der Stadt als Wohngebiet und Weidefläche. Die Stadt soll mitten darin liegen.	15 As regards the remainder, an area of five thousand cubits by twenty-five thousand, this must be forthe common use of the city, for houses and pastures. In the middle wil be the city.
16 Ihre Maße sollen im Norden 4500 Ellen und im Süden 4500 Ellen betragen, ebenso 4500 Ellen im Osten und 4500 Ellen im Westen.	16 These wil be its dimensions: on the north side, four thousand five hundred cubits; on the south side,four thousand five hundred cubits; on the east side, four thousand five hundred cubits; on the west side, fourthousand five hundred cubits.
17 Die Weidefläche der Stadt erstreckt sich 250 Ellen nach Norden, 250 Ellen nach Süden, 250 Ellen nach Osten und 250 Ellen nach Westen.	17 The pasture land of the city must extend two hundred and fifty cubits to the north, two hundred andfifty to the south, two hundred and fifty to the east, two hundred and fifty to the west.
18 Was dann der Länge nach noch übrig ist längs der heiligen Abgabe - 10000 Ellen nach Osten und 10000 Ellen nach Westen [es liegt längs der heiligen Abgabe] -, von dessen Erträgen sollen sich die Arbeiter der Stadt ernähren.	18 One strip, contiguous to the sacred portion, must be left over, consisting of ten thousand cubits toeastward and ten thousand to westward, marching with the sacred portion; this wil bring in a revenue for feedingthe municipal workmen.
19 Die Arbeiter der Stadt, die dieses Stück bebauen, sollen aus allen Stämmen Israels sein.	19 And the municipal workmen, drawn from al the tribes of Israel, wil farm it.
20 Die ganze Abgabe soll 25000 mal 25000 Ellen betragen. Dieses ganze Quadrat einschließlich des Eigentums der Stadt sollt ihr als heilige Abgabe entrichten.	20 The portion must have a total area of twenty-five thousand cubits by twenty-five thousand. You mustal ocate a square area from the sacred portion to constitute the city.
21 Was zu beiden Seiten der heiligen Abgabe und des Besitzes der Stadt übrig bleibt, von den 25000 Ellen der (Ostseite der ganzen) Abgabe bis zur Ostgrenze (des Landes) und von den 25000 Ellen der Westseite (der Abgabe) bis zur Westgrenze (des Landes), diese (beiden) Stücke entlang den Stammesanteilen sollen dem Fürsten gehören. Die heilige Abgabe und das Tempelheiligtum liegen mitten darin.	21 What is left over wil be for the prince, on either side of the sacred portion and of the property of thecity, marching with the twenty-five thousand cubits to eastward to the eastern frontier, and marching with thetwenty-five thousand cubits to westward to the western frontier -- running paral el with the other portions andbelonging to the prince. In the centre wil be the sacred portion and the sanctuary of the Temple.
22 Der Besitz der Leviten und der Besitz der Stadt soll mitten in dem Gebiet liegen, das dem Fürsten gehört, und das Gebiet des Fürsten liegt zwischen dem Gebiet Judas und dem Gebiet Benjamins.	22 Thus, apart from the property of the Levites and the property of the city which lie in the middle of theprince's portion, everything between the borders of Judah and the borders of Ben- jamin must belong to theprince.

25 neben dem Gebiet Simeons von Osten nach Westen Issachar - ein Anteil;	25 One portion bordering Simeon, from the eastern limit to the western limit: Issachar.
26 neben dem Gebiet Issachars von Osten nach Westen Sebulon - ein Anteil;	26 One portion bordering Issachar, from the eastern limit to the western limit: Zebulun.

28 Neben dem Gebiet Gads verläuft im Negeb die Südgrenze; sie führt von Tamar zu den Quellen von Meribat-Kadesch und zu dem Bach, der ins große Meer fließt.	28 On the southern border of Gad, on the south side, the border will run from Tamar to the Waters ofMeribah in Kadesh, to the Wadi and the Great Sea.
29 Das ist das Land, das ihr als Erbbesitz an die Stämme Israels verlosen sollt, und das sind ihre Anteile - Spruch Gottes, des Herrn.	29 This is how you must distribute the country to the tribes of Israel as their heritage, and these must betheir portions -- declares the Lord Yahweh.
30 Das sind die Ausgänge der Stadt. Die Stadttore sind nach den Stämmen Israels benannt:	30 "Here are the exits from the city. On the north side, four thousand five hundred cubits are to bemeasured off.
31 auf der Nordseite, die 4500 Ellen misst, drei Tore: ein Tor ist nach Ruben benannt, ein Tor nach Juda und ein Tor nach Levi;	31 The gates of the city are to be named after the tribes of Israel. Three gates to the north: one the gateof Reuben; one the gate of Judah; one the gate of Levi.
32 auf der Ostseite, die 4500 Ellen misst, drei Tore: ein Tor nach Josef, ein Tor nach Benjamin und ein Tor nach Dan;	32 On the east side, there will be four thousand five hundred cubits and three gates: one the gate ofJoseph; one the gate of Benjamin; one the gate of Dan.
33 auf der Südseite, die 4500 Ellen misst, drei Tore: ein Tor nach Simeon, ein Tor nach Issachar und ein Tor nach Sebulon;	33 On the south side, four thousand five hundred cubits are to be measured off, and there are to bethree gates: one the gate of Simeon; one the gate of Issachar; one the gate of Zebulun.
34 auf der Westseite, die 4500 Ellen misst, drei Tore: ein Tor nach Gad, ein Tor nach Ascher und ein Tor nach Naftali.	34 On the west side, there wil be four thousand five hundred cubits and three gates: one the gate ofGad; one the gate of Asher; one the gate of Naphtali.
35 Der Umfang der Stadt beträgt 18000 Ellen. Und der Name der Stadt soll von heute an sein: Hier ist der Herr.	35 Total perimeter: eighteen thousand cubits. "The name of the city in future must be: Yahweh-is-there."'
