1 Das Wort des Herrn erging an mich:	1 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
2 Menschensohn, mach Jerusalem seine Gräueltaten bewusst!	2 Son of man, make known to Jerusalem her abominations.
3 Sag: So spricht Gott, der Herr, zu Jerusalem: Deiner Herkunft und deiner Geburt nach stammst du aus dem Land der Kanaaniter. Dein Vater war ein Amoriter, deine Mutter eine Hetiterin.	3 And thou shalt say: Thus saith the Lord God to Jerusalem: Thy root, and thy nativity is of the land of Chanaan, thy father was an Amorrhite, and thy mother a Cethite.
4 Bei deiner Geburt, als du geboren wurdest, hat man deine Nabelschnur nicht abgeschnitten. Man hat dich nicht mit Wasser abgewaschen, nicht mit Salz eingerieben, nicht in Windeln gewickelt.	4 And when thou wast born, in the day of thy nativity thy navel wits not cut, neither wast thou washed with water for thy health, nor salted with salt, nor swaddled with clouts.
5 Nichts von all dem hat man getan, kein Auge zeigte dir Mitleid, niemand übte Schonung an dir, sondern am Tag deiner Geburt hat man dich auf freiem Feld ausgesetzt, weil man dich verabscheute.	5 No eye had pity on thee to do any of these things for thee, out of compassion to thee: but thou wast cast out upon the face of the earth in the abjection of thy soul, in the day that thou wast born.
6 Da kam ich an dir vorüber und sah dich in deinem Blut zappeln; und ich sagte zu dir, als du blutverschmiert dalagst: Bleib am Leben!	6 And passing by thee, I saw that thou wast trodden under foot in thy own blood. and I said to thee when thou wast in thy blood: Live: I have said to thee: Live in thy blood.
7 Wie eine Blume auf der Wiese ließ ich dich wachsen. Und du bist herangewachsen, bist groß geworden und herrlich aufgeblüht. Deine Brüste wurden fest; dein Haar wurde dicht. Doch du warst nackt und bloß.	7 I caused thee to multiply as the bud of the field: and thou didst increase and grow great, and advancedst, and camest to woman's ornament: thy breasts were fashioned, and thy hair grew: and thou wast naked, and full of confusion.
8 Da kam ich an dir vorüber und sah dich, und siehe, deine Zeit war gekommen, die Zeit der Liebe. Ich breitete meinen Mantel über dich und bedeckte deine Nacktheit. Ich leistete dir den Eid und ging mit dir einen Bund ein - Spruch Gottes, des Herrn - und du wurdest mein.	8 And I passed by thee, and saw thee: and behold thy time was the time of lovers : and I spread my garment over thee, and covered thy ignominy. And I swore to thee, and I entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord God: and thou becamest mine.
9 Dann habe ich dich gebadet, dein Blut von dir abgewaschen und dich mit Öl gesalbt.	9 And I washed thee with water, and cleansed away thy blood from thee: and I anointed thee with oil.
10 Ich kleidete dich in bunte Gewänder, zog dir Schuhe aus Tahasch-Leder an und hüllte dich in Leinen und kostbare Gewänder.	10 And I clothed thee with embroidery, and shed thee with violet coloured shoes : and I girded thee about with fine linen, and clothed thee with fine garments.
11 Ich legte dir prächtigen Schmuck an, legte dir Spangen an die Arme und eine Kette um den Hals.	11 I decked thee also with ornaments, and put bracelets on thy hands, and a chain about thy neck.
12 Deine Nase schmückte ich mit einem Reif, Ohrringe hängte ich dir an die Ohren und setzte dir eine herrliche Krone auf.	12 And I put a jewel upon thy forehead and earrings in thy ears, and a beautiful crown upon thy head.
13 Mit Gold und Silber konntest du dich schmücken, in Byssus, Seide und bunte Gewebe dich kleiden. Feinmehl, Honig und Öl war deine Nahrung. So wurdest du strahlend schön und wurdest sogar Königin.	13 And thou wast adorned with gold, and silver, and wast clothed with fine linen, and embroidered work, and many colours: thou didst eat fine hour, and honey, and oil, and wast made exceeding beautiful: and wast advanced to be a queen.
14 Der Ruf deiner Schönheit drang zu allen Völkern; denn mein Schmuck, den ich dir anlegte, hatte deine Schönheit vollkommen gemacht - Spruch Gottes, des Herrn.	14 And thy renown went forth among the nations for thy beauty: for thou wast perfect through my beauty, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord God.
15 Doch dann hast du dich auf deine Schönheit verlassen, du hast deinen Ruhm missbraucht und dich zur Dirne gemacht. Jedem, der vorbeiging, hast du dich angeboten, jedem bist du zu Willen gewesen.	15 But trusting in thy beauty, thou playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and thou hast prostituted thyself to every passenger, to be his.
16 Du hast deine bunten Gewänder genommen und dir an den Kulthöhen ein Lager bereitet und darauf Unzucht getrieben.	16 And taking of thy garments thou hast made thee high places sewed together on each side: and hast played the harlot upon them, as hath not been done before, nor shall be hereafter.
17 Deinen prächtigen Schmuck aus meinem Gold und Silber, den ich dir geschenkt hatte, hast du genommen und hast dir daraus männliche Figuren gemacht, um mit ihnen Unzucht zu treiben.	17 And thou tookest thy beautiful vessels, of my gold, and my silver, which I gave thee, and thou madest thee images of men, and hast committed fornication with them.
18 Deine bunten Gewänder hast du genommen und sie damit bekleidet. Mein Öl und meinen Weihrauch hast du vor sie hingestellt.	18 And thou tookest thy garments of divers colours, and coveredst them : and settest my oil and my sweet incense before them.
19 Das Brot, das ich dir gab - mit Feinmehl, Öl und Honig nährte ich dich -, das hast du ihnen als beruhigenden Duft dargebracht [ja, so war es] - Spruch Gottes, des Herrn.	19 And my bread which I gave thee, the fine flour, and oil, and honey, wherewith I fed thee, thou hast set before them for a sweet odour; and it was done, saith the Lord God.
20 Du hast deine Söhne und Töchter, die du mir geboren hast, genommen und ihnen als Schlachtopfer zum Essen vorgesetzt. War dir dein unzüchtiges Treiben noch nicht genug?	20 And thou hast taken thy sons, and thy daughters, whom thou hast borne to me: and best sacrificed the same to them to be devoured. Is thy fornication small?
21 Musstest du auch noch meine Söhne schlachten, um sie ihnen darzubringen und für sie durch das Feuer gehen zu lassen?	21 Thou hast sacrificed and given my children to them, consecrating them by fire.
22 Bei all deinen Gräueltaten und deiner Unzucht hast du die Zeit deiner Jugend vergessen, in der du noch nackt und bloß und zappelnd in deinem Blut lagst.	22 And after all thy abominations, and fornications, thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, when thou wast naked, and full of confusion, trodden under foot in thy own blood.
23 Nach all diesen schändlichen Taten - wehe, weh dir! Spruch Gottes, des Herrn -	23 And it came to pass after all thy wickedness (woe, woe to thee, saith the Lord God)
24 hast du dir auf jedem freien Platz ein Bett und eine Kulthöhe errichtet.	24 That thou didst also build thee a common stew, and madest thee a brothel house in every street.
25 An jeder Straßenecke hast du deine Kulthöhen errichtet, du hast deine Schönheit schändlich missbraucht, hast dich jedem angeboten, der vorbeiging, und hast unaufhörlich Unzucht getrieben.	25 At every head of the way thou hast set up a sign of thy prostitution: and hast made thy beauty to be abominable: and hast prostituted thyself to every one that passed by, and hast multiplied thy fornications.
26 Du hast dich den Ägyptern, deinen Nachbarn mit dem großen Glied, hingegeben und mit ihnen unaufhörlich Unzucht getrieben, um mich zu erzürnen.	26 And thou hast committed fornication with the Egyptians thy neighbours, men of large bodies, and hast multiplied thy fornications to provoke me.
27 Da streckte ich meine Hand aus und nahm dir weg, was dir zustand. Ich lieferte dich deinen rachgierigen Feindinnen aus, den Philisterinnen; sogar sie schämten sich wegen deines schändlichen Treibens.	27 Behold, I will stretch out my hand upon thee, and will take away thy justification: and I will deliver thee up to the will of the daughters of the Philistines that hate thee, that are ashamed of thy wicked way.
28 Dann hast du dich mit den Assyrern eingelassen, weil du noch nicht genug hattest. Du hast dich mit ihnen eingelassen, doch auch dann hattest du noch nicht genug.	28 Thou hast also committed fornication with the Assyrians, because thou wast not yet satisfied: and after thou hadst played the harlot with them, even so thou wast not contented.
29 Immer mehr Unzucht hast du getrieben und bist sogar den chaldäischen Krämern nachgelaufen; doch auch dann hattest du noch nicht genug.	29 Thou hast also multiplied thy fornications in the land of Chanaan with the Chaldeans: and neither so wast then satisfied.
30 Wie fiebert dein Herz - Spruch Gottes, des Herrn -, weil du all das getan hast, du selbstherrliche Dirne.	30 Wherein shall I cleanse thy heart, saith the Lord God: seeing thou dost all these the works of a shameless prostitute?
31 Du hast dir an jeder Straßenecke ein Bett und auf jedem freien Platz eine Kulthöhe errichtet. Du warst keine gewöhnliche Dirne; denn du hast es verschmäht, dich bezahlen zu lassen.	31 Because thou hast built thy brothel house at the head of every way, and thou hast made thy high place in every street: and wast not as a harlot that by disdain enhanceth her price,
32 [Die Ehebrecherin nimmt sich statt ihres Mannes fremde Männer.]	32 But as an adulteress, that bringeth in strangers over her husband.
33 Jede Dirne bezahlt man; du aber hast all deinen Liebhabern Geschenke gegeben und sie bestochen, damit sie von überall kamen, um mit dir Unzucht zu treiben.	33 Gifts are given to all harlots: but thou hast given hire to all thy lovers, and thou hast given them gifts to come to thee from every side, to commit fornication with thee.
34 Bei deiner Unzucht hast du es gerade umgekehrt gemacht wie andere Frauen: Dir lief niemand nach; du hast selbst bezahlt und dich nicht bezahlen lassen. So hast du es umgekehrt gemacht wie andere.	34 And it hath happened in thee contrary to the custom of women in thy fornications, and after thee there shall be no such fornication: for in that thou gavest rewards, and didst not take rewards, the contrary hath been done in thee.
35 Darum, du Dirne, höre das Wort des Herrn!	35 Therefore, O harlot, hear the word of the Lord.
36 So spricht Gott, der Herr: Weil du deinen Körper schamlos entblößt hast bei der Unzucht mit deinen Liebhabern, mit all deinen abscheulichen Götzen, und weil du ihnen das Blut deiner Kinder hingegeben hast,	36 Thus saith the Lord God: Because thy money hath been poured out, and thy shame discovered through thy fornications with thy lovers, and with the idols of thy abominations, by the blood of thy children whom thou gavest them:
37 deshalb will ich alle deine Liebhaber zusammenrufen, denen du gefallen hast, alle, die du geliebt hast, und auch alle, die du verachtet hast. Und wenn ich sie von allen Seiten bei dir zusammengerufen habe, dann entblöße ich vor ihren Augen deine Scham, damit sie deine Scham unverhüllt sehen.	37 Behold, I will gather together all thy lovers with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all whom thou hast loved, with all whom thou hast hated: and I will gather them together against thee on every side, and will discover thy shame in their sight, and they shall see all thy nakedness.
38 Ich spreche dir das Urteil nach den Rechtsvorschriften für Ehebrecherinnen und Mörderinnen, voll Zorn zahle ich dir heim mit Blut, Grimm und Eifersucht.	38 And I will judge thee as adulteresses, and they that shed blood are judged: and I will give thee blood in fury and jealousy.
39 Ich gebe dich in ihre Hand, damit sie dein Bett zerstören und deine Kulthöhen einreißen, damit sie dir deine Gewänder ausziehen, deinen prächtigen Schmuck wegnehmen und dich nackt und bloß daliegen lassen.	39 And I will deliver thee into their hands, and they shall destroy thy brothel house, and throw down thy stews: and they shall strip thee of thy garments, and shall take away the vessels of thy beauty: and leave thee naked, and full of disgrace.
40 Sie berufen eine Volksversammlung gegen dich ein, steinigen dich und hauen dich mit ihren Schwertern in Stücke.	40 And they shall bring upon thee a multitude, and they shall stone thee with stones, and shall slay thee with their swords.
41 Sie werden deine Häuser anzünden und vor den Augen vieler Frauen das Urteil an dir vollstrecken. So mache ich deiner Unzucht ein Ende. Keinem wirst du mehr Dirnenlohn zahlen.	41 ,41And they shall burn thy houses with fire, and shall execute judgments upon thee in the sight of many women: and thou shalt cease from fornication, and shalt give no hire any more.
42 Wenn ich meinen Zorn an dir gestillt habe, wird meine Eifersucht aufhören, gegen dich zu wüten. Ich werde Ruhe haben und mich nicht mehr ärgern.	42 And my indignation shall rest in thee: and my jealousy shall depart from thee, and I will cease and be angry no more.
43 Weil du die Tage deiner Jugend vergessen und mich durch dein Treiben gereizt hast, darum lasse ich dein Verhalten auf dich selbst zurückfallen - Spruch Gottes, des Herrn. Hast du nicht neben all deinen Gräueln auch noch andere Schandtaten verübt?	43 Because thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, but hast provoked me in all these things: wherefore I also have turned thy ways upon thy head, saith the Lord God, and I have not done according to thy wicked deeds in all thy abominations.
44 Wer ein Sprichwort auf dich anwenden will, der sagt: Wie die Mutter, so die Tochter!	44 Behold every one that useth a common proverb, shall use this against thee, saying: As the mother was, so also is her daughter.
45 Du bist die Tochter deiner Mutter, die vor ihrem Mann und ihren Söhnen Abscheu empfand. Du bist die Schwester deiner Schwestern, die vor ihren Männern und Söhnen Abscheu empfanden. Eure Mutter war eine Hetiterin und euer Vater ein Amoriter.	45 Thou art thy mother's daughter, that cast off her husband, and her children: and thou art the sister of thy sisters, who cast off their husbands, and their children: your mother was a Cethite, and your father an Amorrhite.
46 Deine ältere Schwester ist Samaria mit ihren Töchtern, die links von dir wohnt; deine jüngere Schwester ist Sodom mit ihren Töchtern, die rechts von dir wohnt.	46 And thy elder sister is Samaria, she and her daughters that dwell at thy left hand: and thy younger sister that dwelleth at thy right hand is Sodom, and her daughters.
47 Du bist nicht nur ihrem Beispiel gefolgt und hast nicht nur die gleichen Gräueltaten begangen, sondern in kurzer Zeit hast du es in allem noch schlimmer getrieben als sie.	47 But neither hast thou walked in their ways, nor hast thou done a little less than they according to their wickednesses: thou hast done almost more wicked things than they in all thy ways
48 So wahr ich lebe - Spruch Gottes, des Herrn: Deine Schwester Sodom und ihre Töchter haben es nicht so getrieben wie du und deine Töchter.	48 as I live, saith the Lord God, thy sister Sodom herself, and her daughters, have not done as thou hast done, and thy daughters.
49 Die Schuld deiner Schwester Sodom war, dass sie und ihre Töchter hochmütig waren, dass sie in Überfluss zu essen hatten und in sorgloser Ruhe dahinlebten, ohne den Elenden und Armen zu helfen.	49 Behold this was the iniquity of Sodom thy sister, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance, and the idleness of her, and of her daughters: and they did not put forth their hand to the needy, and to the poor.
50 Sie wurden hochmütig und begingen Gräueltaten vor meinen Augen. Darum habe ich sie verstoßen, wie du selbst gesehen hast.	50 And they were lifted up, and committed abominations before me: and I took them away as thou hast seen.
51 Samaria hat nicht die Hälfte deiner Sünden begangen. Du hast mehr Gräueltaten verübt als sie beide zusammen und du lässt deine Schwestern gerecht erscheinen, sieht man auf all die Gräueltaten, die du begangen hast.	51 And Samaria committed not half thy sins: but thou hast surpassed them with thy crimes, and hast justified thy sisters by all thy abominations which thou hast done.
52 Darum trag auch du deine Schande, die du deine Schwestern durch deine Sünden entlastet und abscheulicher als sie gehandelt hast; deshalb erscheinen sie gerechter als du. Darum schäme auch du dich und trag deine Schande, weil du deine Schwestern gerecht erscheinen lässt.	52 Therefore do thou also bear thy confusion, thou that hast surpassed thy sisters with thy sine, doing more wickedly than they: for they are justified above thee, therefore be thou also confounded, and bear thy shame, thou that hast justified thy sisters.
53 Aber ich werde ihr Schicksal wenden, das Schicksal Sodoms und ihrer Töchter, das Schicksal Samarias und ihrer Töchter, und ich werde auch dein Schicksal wenden zusammen mit ihrem Schicksal;	53 And I will bring back and restore them by bringing back Sodom, with her daughters, and by bringing back Samaria, and her daughters: and I will bring those that return of thee in the midst of them.
54 denn du sollst deine Schande tragen und du sollst dich schämen über all das, was du getan und wodurch du sie in Sicherheit gewiegt hast.	54 That thou mayest bear thy shame, and mayest be confounded in all that thou hast done, comforting them.
55 Deine Schwestern werden wieder sein wie früher, Sodom und ihre Töchter, Samaria und ihre Töchter werden wieder sein wie früher. Auch deine Töchter werden wieder sein wie früher.	55 And thy sister Sodom and her daughters shall return to their ancient state: and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their ancient state: and thou and thy daughters shall return to your ancient state.
56 Hast du nicht über deine Schwester Sodom gelästert, als du hochmütig warst,	56 And Sodom thy sister was not heard of in thy mouth, in the day of thy pride,
57 bevor deine Schlechtigkeit offenbar wurde? So lästern jetzt ringsum über dich all deine Nachbarinnen, die Edomiterinnen und die Philisterinnen, die dich verachten.	57 Before thy malice was laid open: as it is at this time, making thee a reproach of the daughters of Syria, and of all the daughters of Palestine round about thee, that encompass thee on all sides.
58 Die Folgen deines schamlosen Treibens und deiner Gräueltaten hast du zu tragen - Spruch des Herrn.	58 Thou hast borne thy wickedness, and thy disgrace, saith the Lord God.
59 Denn so spricht Gott, der Herr: Ich habe mit dir gemacht, was du gemacht hast; du hast den Eid missachtet und den Bund gebrochen.	59 For thus saith the Lord God: I will deal with thee, as thou hast despised the oath, in breaking the covenant:
60 Aber ich will meines Bundes gedenken, den ich mit dir in deiner Jugend geschlossen habe, und will einen ewigen Bund mit dir eingehen.	60 And I will remember my covenant with thee in the days of thy youth: and I will establish with thee an everlasting covenant.
61 Du sollst dich an dein Verhalten erinnern und dich schämen, wenn ich deine älteren und jüngeren Schwestern nehme und sie dir zu Töchtern gebe, aber nicht deshalb, weil du den Bund gehalten hättest.	61 And thou shalt remember thy ways, and be ashamed: when thou shalt receive thy sisters, thy elder and thy younger: and I will give them to thee for daughters, but not by thy covenant.
62 Ich selbst gehe einen Bund mit dir ein, damit du erkennst, dass ich der Herr bin.	62 And I will establish my covenant with thee: and thou shalt know that I am the Lord,
63 Dann sollst du dich erinnern, sollst dich schämen und vor Scham nicht mehr wagen, den Mund zu öffnen, weil ich dir alles vergebe, was du getan hast - Spruch Gottes, des Herrn.	63 That thou mayest remember, and be confounded, and mayest no more open thy mouth because of thy confusion, when I shall be pacified toward thee for all that thou hast done, saith the Lord God.
