1 CELEBRATE il Signore; predicate il suo Nome; Fate assapere i suoi fatti fra i popoli.	1 Give thanks to the LORD, invoke his name; make known among the peoples his deeds!
2 Cantategli, salmeggiategli, Ragionate di tutte le sue maraviglie.	2 Sing praise, play music; proclaim all his wondrous deeds!
3 Gloriatevi nel Nome della sua santità; Rallegrisi il cuor di coloro che cercano il Signore.	3 Glory in his holy name; rejoice, O hearts that seek the LORD!
4 Cercate il Signore, e la sua forza; Cercate del continuo la sua faccia.	4 Rely on the mighty LORD; constantly seek his face.
5 Ricordate le sue maraviglie ch’egli ha fatte; I suoi miracoli e i giudicii della sua bocca;	5 Recall the wondrous deeds he has done, his signs and his words of judgment,
6 O voi, progenie d’Abrahamo, suo servitore; Figliuoli di Giacobbe, suoi eletti.	6 You descendants of Abraham his servant, offspring of Jacob the chosen one!
7 Egli è il Signore Iddio nostro; I suoi giudicii son per tutta la terra	7 The LORD is our God who rules the whole earth.
8 Egli si ricorda in eterno del suo patto, E in mille generazioni della parola ch’egli ha comandata;	8 He remembers forever his covenant, the pact imposed for a thousand generations,
9 Del suo patto, ch’egli fece con Abrahamo; E del suo giuramento, ch’egli fece ad Isacco;	9 Which was made with Abraham, confirmed by oath to Isaac,
10 Il quale egli confermò a Giacobbe per istatuto, E ad Israele per patto eterno;	10 And ratified as binding for Jacob, an everlasting covenant for Israel:
11 Dicendo: Io ti darò il paese di Canaan, Per sorte della vostra eredità.	11 "To you I give the land of Canaan, your own allotted heritage."
12 Quantunque fosser ben poca gente, E forestieri in esso.	12 When they were few in number, a handful, and strangers there,
13 E mentre essi andavano da una gente ad un’altra, Da un regno ad un altro popolo,	13 Wandering from nation to nation, from one kingdom to another,
14 Egli non permise che alcuno li oppressasse; Anzi gastigò eziandio dei re per amor loro,	14 He let no one oppress them; for their sake he rebuked kings:
15 E disse: Non toccate i miei unti, E non fate alcun male a’ miei profeti.	15 " Do not touch my anointed, to my prophets do no harm."
16 Poi egli chiamò la fame sopra la terra; E ruppe tutto il sostegno del pane.	16 Then he called down a famine on the land, destroyed the grain that sustained them.
17 Egli aveva mandato dinanzi a loro un uomo, Cioè Giuseppe, che fu venduto per servo;	17 He had sent a man ahead of them, Joseph, sold as a slave.
18 I cui piedi furono serrati ne’ ceppi; La cui persona fu messa ne’ ferri.	18 They shackled his feet with chains; collared his neck in iron,
19 La parola del Signore lo tenne al cimento, Fino al tempo che venne ciò ch’egli aveva detto.	19 Till his prediction came to pass, and the word of the LORD proved him true.
20 Allora il re mandò a farlo sciorre; Il dominator di popoli mandò a largheggiarlo.	20 The king sent and released him; the ruler of peoples set him free.
21 Egli lo costituì padrone sopra la sua casa, E rettore sopra tutto il suo stato;	21 He made him lord over his palace, ruler over all his possessions,
22 Per tenere a freno i suoi principi a suo senno; E per dare ammaestramento a’ suoi anziani.	22 To instruct his princes by his word, to teach his elders wisdom.
23 Poi Israele entrò in Egitto; E Giacobbe dimorò come forestiere nel paese di Cam.	23 Then Israel entered Egypt; Jacob lived in the land of Ham.
24 E Iddio fece grandemente moltiplicare il suo popolo; E lo rendè più possente che i suoi nemici	24 God greatly increased his people, made them too many for their foes.
25 Egli rivolse il cuor loro a odiare il suo popolo, A macchinar frode contro a’ suoi servitori.	25 He turned their hearts to hate his people, to treat his servants unfairly.
26 Egli mandò Mosè, suo servitore; Ed Aaronne, il quale egli aveva eletto.	26 He sent his servant Moses, Aaron whom he had chosen.
27 Essi eseguirono fra loro i miracoli ch’egli aveva loro detti, E i suoi prodigi nella terra di Cam.	27 They worked his signs in Egypt and wonders in the land of Ham.
28 Egli mandò le tenebre, e fece oscurar l’aria; Ed essi non furono ribelli alle sue parole.	28 He sent darkness and it grew dark, but they rebelled against his word.
29 Egli cangiò le acque loro in sangue, E fece morire il lor pesce.	29 He turned their waters into blood and killed all their fish.
30 La terra loro produsse rane, Ch’entrarono fin nelle camere de’ loro re.	30 Their land swarmed with frogs, even the chambers of their kings.
31 Alla sua parola venne una mischia d’insetti, E pidocchi in tutte le lor contrade.	31 He spoke and there came swarms of flies, gnats through all their country.
32 Egli mutò le lor pioggie in gragnuola, E in fuoco divampante nel lor paese;	32 For rain he gave them hail, flashes of lightning throughout their land.
33 E percosse le lor vigne, e i lor fichi; E fracassò gli alberi della lor contrada.	33 He struck down their vines and fig trees, shattered the trees of their country.
34 Alla sua parola vennero locuste, E bruchi senza numero;	34 He spoke and the locusts came, grass hoppers without number.
35 Che rosero tutta l’erba nel lor paese, E mangiarono il frutto della lor terra.	35 They devoured every plant in the land; they ravaged the crops of their fields.
36 Poi egli percosse ogni primogenito nel lor paese, Le primizie d’ogni lor forza.	36 He struck down every firstborn in the land, the first fruits of all their vigor.
37 E condusse fuori Israele con oro e con argento; E non vi fu alcuno, fra le sue tribù, che fosse fiacco.	37 He brought his people out, laden with silver and gold; no stragglers among the tribes.
38 Gli Egizi si rallegrarono della lor partita; Perciocchè lo spavento di essi era caduto sopra loro.	38 Egypt rejoiced when they left, for panic had seized them.
39 Egli distese la nuvola, per coverta; Ed accese un fuoco, per alluminarli di notte.	39 He spread a cloud as a cover, and made a fire to light up the night.
40 Alla lor richiesta egli addusse delle quaglie, E li saziò del pane del cielo.	40 They asked and he brought them quail; with bread from heaven he filled them.
41 Egli aperse la roccia, e ne colarono acque; Rivi corsero per i luoghi aridi.	41 He split the rock and water gushed forth; it flowed through the desert like a river.
42 Perciocchè egli si ricordò della parola della sua santità, Detta ad Abrahamo, suo servitore;	42 For he remembered his sacred word to Abraham his servant.
43 E trasse fuori il suo popolo con allegrezza, E i suoi eletti con giubilo;	43 He brought his people out with joy, his chosen ones with shouts of triumph.
44 E diede loro i paesi delle genti; Ed essi possedettero le fatiche de’ popoli;	44 He gave them the lands of the nations, the wealth of the peoples to own,
45 Acciocchè osservassero i suoi statuti, E guardassero le sue leggi. Alleluia	45 That they might keep his laws and observe his teachings. Hallelujah!
