1 Unto the end. A Psalm of David.	1 - Al corifeo. Salmo di David.
2 Hear, O God, my prayer of supplication. Rescue my soul from the fear of the enemy.	2 Ascolta, o Dio, la mia preghiera, quando ti supplico; dal timor del nemico libera la mia vita.
3 You have protected me from the assembly of the malignant, from a multitude of workers of iniquity.	3 Proteggimi dalle congiure de' malvagi, dalla turba degli operatori d'iniquità.
4 For they have sharpened their tongues like a sword; they have formed their bow into a bitter thing,	4 Perchè affilan come una spada le loro lingue, tendon [come] un arco l'acerba parola,
5 so that they may shoot arrows from hiding at the immaculate.	5 per saettare in agguato l'innocente; all'improvviso lo saettano, e non hanno paura.
6 They will suddenly shoot arrows at him, and they will not be afraid. They are resolute in their wicked talk. They have discussed hidden snares. They have said, “Who will see them?”	6 Si rafforzan nel loro pravo disegno, si concertan per tender ben nascosti i lacci, si dicono: «Chi li vedrà?».
7 They have been searching carefully for iniquities. Their exhaustive search has failed. Man will approach with a deep heart,	7 Macchinan perfidie, vengon meno a forza di stillarsi il cervello, apre ciascuno il cuore a un orgoglio profondo.
8 and God will be exalted. The arrows of the little ones have become their wounds,	8 Ma Dio sarà esaltato!frecce di fanciulli son le ferite [fatte] da essi,
9 and their tongues have been weakened against them. All those who saw them have been troubled;	9 e le loro lingue rovinan su loro. Si turban quanti li vedono,
10 and every man was afraid. And they announced the works of God, and they understood his acts.	10 e ogni uomo è preso da timore. E raccontan le opere di Dio, e intendon le sue geste.
11 The just will rejoice in the Lord, and they will hope in him. And all the upright of heart will be praised.	11 Si rallegrerà il giusto nel Signore e [si rifugerà] e confiderà in lui, e trionferanno tutti i retti di cuore.
