Psalms 66

1 For the leader. A song; a psalm.	1 Ao mestre de canto. Cântico. Salmo. Aclamai a Deus, toda a terra,
2 Shout joyfully to God, all you on earth; sing of his glorious name; give him glorious praise.	2 Cantai a glória de seu nome, rendei-lhe glorioso louvor.
3 Say to God: "How awesome your deeds! Before your great strength your enemies cringe.	3 Dizei a Deus: Vossas obras são estupendas! Tal é o vosso poder que os próprios inimigos vos glorificam.
4 All on earth fall in worship before you; they sing of you, sing of your name!" Selah	4 Diante de vós se prosterne toda a terra, e cante em vossa honra a glória de vosso nome.
5 Come and see the works of God, awesome in the deeds done for us.	5 Vinde contemplar as obras de Deus: ele fez maravilhas entre os filhos dos homens.
6 He changed the sea to dry land; through the river they passed on foot. Therefore let us rejoice in him,	6 Mudou o mar em terra firme; atravessaram o rio a pé enxuto; eis o motivo de nossa alegria.
7 who rules by might forever, Whose eyes are fixed upon the nations. Let no rebel rise to challenge! Selah	7 Domina pelo seu poder para sempre, seus olhos observam as nações pagãs; que os rebeldes não levantem a cabeça.
8 Bless our God, you peoples; loudly sound his praise,	8 Bendizei, ó povos, ao nosso Deus, publicai seus louvores.
9 Who has kept us alive and not allowed our feet to slip.	9 Foi ele quem conservou a vida de nossa alma, e não permitiu resvalassem nossos pés.
10 You tested us, O God, tried us as silver tried by fire.	10 Pois vós nos provastes, ó Deus, acrisolastes-nos como se faz com a prata.
11 You led us into a snare; you bound us at the waist as captives.	11 Deixastes-nos cair no laço, carga pesada pusestes em nossas costas.
12 You let captors set foot on our neck; we went through fire and water; then you led us out to freedom.	12 Submetestes-nos ao jugo dos homens, passamos pelo fogo e pela água; mas, por fim, nos destes alívio.
13 I will bring holocausts to your house; to you I will fulfill my vows,	13 É, pois, com holocaustos que entrarei em vossa casa, pagarei os votos que fiz para convosco,
14 The vows my lips pronounced and my mouth spoke in distress.	14 votos proferidos pelos meus lábios, quando me encontrava na tribulação.
15 Holocausts of fatlings I will offer you and burnt offerings of rams; I will sacrifice oxen and goats. Selah	15 Oferecerei em holocausto as mais belas ovelhas, com os mais gordos carneiros; imolarei touros e cabritos.
16 Come and hear, all you who fear God, while I recount what has been done for me.	16 Vinde, ouvi vós todos que temeis ao Senhor. Eu vos narrarei quão grandes coisas Deus fez à minha alma.
17 I called to the Lord with my mouth; praise was upon my tongue.	17 Meus lábios o invocaram, com minha língua o louvei.
18 Had I cherished evil in my heart, the Lord would not have heard.	18 Se eu intentasse no coração o mal, não me teria ouvido o Senhor.
19 But God did hear and listened to my voice in prayer.	19 Mas Deus me ouviu; atendeu a voz da minha súplica.
20 Blessed be God, who did not refuse me the kindness I sought in prayer.	20 Bendito seja Deus que não rejeitou a minha oração, nem retirou de mim a sua misericórdia.
