Psalms 106

1 Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.	1 Halleluja! Danket dem Herrn; denn er ist gütig, denn seine Huld währt ewig.
2 Who can utter the mighty acts of the LORD? who can shew forth all his praise?	2 Wer kann die großen Taten des Herrn erzählen, all seinen Ruhm verkünden?
3 Blessed are they that keep judgment, and he that doeth righteousness at all times.	3 Wohl denen, die das Recht bewahren und zu jeder Zeit tun, was gerecht ist.
4 Remember me, O LORD, with the favour that thou bearest unto thy people: O visit me with thy salvation;	4 Denk an mich, Herr, aus Liebe zu deinem Volk, such mich auf und bring mir Hilfe!
5 That I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thine inheritance.	5 Lass mich das Glück deiner Erwählten schauen, an der Freude deines Volkes mich freuen, damit ich gemeinsam mit deinem Erbe mich rühmen kann.
6 We have sinned with our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly.	6 Wir haben zusammen mit unsern Vätern gesündigt, wir haben Unrecht getan und gefrevelt.
7 Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked him at the sea, even at the Red sea.	7 Unsre Väter in Ägypten begriffen deine Wunder nicht, dachten nicht an deine reiche Huld und trotzten dem Höchsten am Schilfmeer.
8 Nevertheless he saved them for his name's sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known.	8 Er aber hat sie gerettet, um seinen Namen zu ehren und seine Macht zu bekunden.
9 He rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness.	9 Er bedrohte das Schilfmeer, da wurde es trocken; wie durch eine Steppe führte er sie durch die Fluten.
10 And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.	10 Er rettete sie aus der Hand derer, die sie hassten, erlöste sie aus der Gewalt des Feindes.
11 And the waters covered their enemies: there was not one of them left.	11 Ihre Bedränger bedeckte das Wasser, nicht einer von ihnen blieb übrig.
12 Then believed they his words; they sang his praise.	12 Nun glaubten sie Gottes Worten und sangen laut seinen Lobpreis.
13 They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel:	13 Doch sie vergaßen schnell seine Taten, wollten auf seinen Ratschluss nicht warten.
14 But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.	14 Sie wurden in der Wüste begehrlich und versuchten Gott in der Öde.
15 And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.	15 Er gab ihnen, was sie von ihm verlangten; dann aber erfasste sie Ekel und Überdruss.
16 They envied Moses also in the camp, and Aaron the saint of the LORD.	16 Sie wurden im Lager eifersüchtig auf Mose und auf Aaron, den Heiligen des Herrn.
17 The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram.	17 Die Erde tat sich auf, sie verschlang den Datan und bedeckte die Rotte Abírams.
18 And a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked.	18 Feuer verbrannte die Rotte, Flammen verzehrten die Frevler.
19 They made a calf in Horeb, and worshipped the molten image.	19 Sie machten am Horeb ein Kalb und warfen sich vor dem Gussbild nieder.
20 Thus they changed their glory into the similitude of an ox that eateth grass.	20 Die Herrlichkeit Gottes tauschten sie ein gegen das Bild eines Stieres, der Gras frisst.
21 They forgat God their saviour, which had done great things in Egypt;	21 Sie vergaßen Gott, ihren Retter, der einst in Ägypten Großes vollbrachte,
22 Wondrous works in the land of Ham, and terrible things by the Red sea.	22 Wunder im Lande Hams, Furcht erregende Taten am Schilfmeer.
23 Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy them.	23 Da fasste er einen Plan und er hätte sie vernichtet, wäre nicht Mose, sein Erwählter, für sie in die Bresche gesprungen, sodass Gott sie im Zorn nicht vertilgte.
24 Yea, they despised the pleasant land, they believed not his word:	24 Sie verschmähten das köstliche Land; sie glaubten seinen Verheißungen nicht.
25 But murmured in their tents, and hearkened not unto the voice of the LORD.	25 In ihren Zelten murrten sie, hörten nicht auf die Stimme des Herrn.
26 Therefore he lifted up his hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness:	26 Da erhob er gegen sie die Hand, um sie niederzustrecken noch in der Wüste,
27 To overthrow their seed also among the nations, and to scatter them in the lands.	27 ihre Nachkommen unter die Völker zu zerstreuen, sie in alle Welt zu versprengen.
28 They joined themselves also unto Baal-peor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead.	28 Sie hängten sich an den Bíal-Pegór und aßen die Opfer der toten Götzen.
29 Thus they provoked him to anger with their inventions: and the plague brake in upon them.	29 Sie erbitterten Gott mit ihren schändlichen Taten, bis über sie eine schwere Plage kam.
30 Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment: and so the plague was stayed.	30 Pinhas trat auf und hielt Gericht; so wurde die Plage abgewandt.
31 And that was counted unto him for righteousness unto all generations for evermore.	31 Das rechnete Gott ihm als Gerechtigkeit an, ihm und seinem Geschlecht für immer und ewig.
32 They angered him also at the waters of strife, so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes:	32 An den Wassern von Meríba reizten sie Gottes Zorn, ihretwegen erging es Mose übel.
33 Because they provoked his spirit, so that he spake unadvisedly with his lips.	33 Denn sie hatten seinen Geist erbittert, sein Mund redete unbedacht.
34 They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the LORD commanded them:	34 Sie rotteten die Völker nicht aus, wie ihnen der Herr einst befahl.
35 But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works.	35 Sie vermischten sich mit den Heiden und lernten von ihren Taten.
36 And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them.	36 Sie dienten ihren Götzen; die wurden ihnen zur Falle.
37 Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils,	37 Sie brachten ihre Söhne und Töchter dar als Opfer für die Dämonen.
38 And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.	38 Sie vergossen schuldloses Blut, das Blut ihrer Söhne und Töchter, die sie den Götzen Kanaans opferten; so wurde das Land durch Blutschuld entweiht.
39 Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions.	39 Sie wurden durch ihre Taten unrein und brachen Gott mit ihrem Tun die Treue.
40 Therefore was the wrath of the LORD kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance.	40 Der Zorn des Herrn entbrannte gegen sein Volk, er empfand Abscheu gegen sein Erbe.
41 And he gave them into the hand of the heathen; and they that hated them ruled over them.	41 Er gab sie in die Hand der Völker und die sie hassten, beherrschten sie.
42 Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand.	42 Ihre Feinde bedrängten sie, unter ihre Hand mussten sie sich beugen.
43 Many times did he deliver them; but they provoked him with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity.	43 Oft hat er sie befreit; sie aber trotzten seinem Beschluss und versanken in ihrer Schuld.
44 Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry:	44 Doch als er ihr Flehen hörte, sah er auf ihre Not
45 And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.	45 und dachte ihnen zuliebe an seinen Bund; er hatte Mitleid in seiner großen Gnade.
46 He made them also to be pitied of all those that carried them captives.	46 Bei denen, die sie verschleppten, ließ er sie Erbarmen erfahren.
47 Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name, and to triumph in thy praise.	47 Hilf uns, Herr, unser Gott, führe uns aus den Völkern zusammen! Wir wollen deinen heiligen Namen preisen, uns rühmen, weil wir dich loben dürfen.
	48 Gepriesen sei der Herr, der Gott Israels, vom Anfang bis ans Ende der Zeiten. Alles Volk soll sprechen: Amen. Halleluja!
