1 Salmo. De Asaf. Quão bom é Deus para com os rectos, o Senhor para com os puros de coração!	1 [Of Solomon] God, endow the king with your own fair judgement, the son of the king with your ownsaving justice,
2 Os meus pés por pouco não vacilaram; por pouco se não transviaram os meus passos,	2 that he may rule your people with justice, and your poor with fair judgement.
3 porque tive inveja dos ímpios, ao observar a prosperidade dos pecadores.	3 Mountains and hil s, bring peace to the people! With justice
4 Porque eles não têm sofrimentos, são e gordo anda o seu corpo.	4 he wil judge the poor of the people, he wil save the children of the needy and crush their oppressors.
5 Não participam (pelo menos aparentemente) dos trabalhos dos mortais, nem como os outros são flagelados.	5 In the sight of the sun and the moon he wil endure, age after age.
6 Pelo que os cinge a soberba como um colar, e envolve-os a violência como um vestido.	6 He will come down like rain on mown grass, like showers moistening the land.
7 Brota a iniquidade do seu crasso coração, trasbordam as ficções da sua mente.	7 In his days uprightness shal flourish, and peace in plenty till the moon is no more.
8 Zombam e falam com maldade, altivos ameaçam opressões.	8 His empire shal stretch from sea to sea, from the river to the limits of the earth.
9 Abrem a sua boca contra o céu, e a sua língua arrasta-se pela terra.	9 The Beast wil cower before him, his enemies lick the dust;
10 Por isto o meu povo se volta para eles, e sorve das suas águas abundantes.	10 the kings of Tarshish and the islands wil pay him tribute. The kings of Sheba and Saba wil offer gifts;
11 Chegam a dizer; "Porventura Deus sabe isto, tem disto notícia o Altíssimo?"	11 all kings will do him homage, al nations become his servants.
12 Eis como são os pecadores, e, (contudo) sempre tranquilos, aumentam a sua fortuna.	12 For he rescues the needy who cal s to him, and the poor who has no one to help.
13 Foi portanto inutilmente que conservei puro o meu coração, e lavei na inocência as minhas mãos?	13 He has pity on the weak and the needy, and saves the needy from death.
14 Pois sou flagelado a toda a hora e castigado todo o dia.	14 From oppression and violence he redeems their lives, their blood is precious in his sight.
15 Se eu pensasse: "Hei-de falar com eles," seria um desertor da raça dos teus filhos.	15 (Long may he live; may the gold of Sheba be given him!) Prayer wil be offered for him constantly,and blessings invoked on him al day.
16 Reflectia pois para compreender isto; pareceu-me porém coisa bastante difícil,	16 May wheat abound in the land, waving on the heights of the hills, like Lebanon with its fruits andflowers at their best, like the grasses of the earth.
17 até que entrei no santuário (íntimo) de Deus, e atendi ao fim de todos eles.	17 May his name be blessed for ever, and endure in the sight of the sun. In him shal be blessed everyrace in the world, and all nations call him blessed.
18 Na verdade, é sobre caminhos escorregadios que os colocas, precipita-los na ruína.	18 Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, who alone works wonders;
19 Oh! como tombara num momento, acabaram, foram consumidos de espantoso terror!	19 blessed for ever his glorious name. May the whole world be fil ed with his glory! Amen! Amen!
20 Como um sonho, ao despertar, Senhor, assim, quando te Levantas, desprezarás a sua aparência.	20 End of the prayers of David, son of Jesse.
21 Quando se exasperava o meu espírito, e o meu coração se sentia aguilhoado.
22 eu era um insensato e não compreendia, fui diante de ti como um jumento.
23 Todavia, não; estarei sempre contigo: tomaste-me pela minha mão direita,
24 Hás-de guiar-me com teu conselho, e por fim hás-de receber-me na tua glória.
25 Quem tenho eu, lá no céu, fora de ti? e, se estou contigo, a terra não me deleita.
26 Desfalece a minha carne e o meu coração; o rochedo do meu coração e a minha herança é Deus para sempre.
27 Com efeito, os que se apartam de ti perecerão, aniquilas todos os que te são infiéis.
28 Mas para mim é bom estar junto de Deus, pôr no Senhor Deus o meu refúgio. Publicarei todas as tuas obras às portas da filha de Sião.
