1 Cântico das subidas. De Salomão. Se o Senhor não edificar a casa, é em vão que trabalham os que a edificam. Se o Senhor não guardar a cidade, inutilmente vigia a sentinela.	1 A song of ascents. When the LORD restored the fortunes of Zion, then we thought we were dreaming.
2 Em vão vos levantais antes de amanhecer, e fazeis serão até alta noite, vós que comeis o pão de trabalho duro: porque ele o dá aos seus amados até durante o sono.	2 Our mouths were filled with laughter; our tongues sang for joy. Then it was said among the nations, "The LORD had done great things for them."
3 Eis que os filhos, são um dom do Senhor, o fruto das entranhas é uma recompensa.	3 The LORD has done great things for us; Oh, how happy we were!
4 Como setas na mão do guerreiro, assim são os filhos da juventude.	4 Restore again our fortunes, LORD, like the dry stream beds of the Negeb.
5 Ditoso o homem que delas encheu a sua aljava. Não serão confundidos quando contenderem com os seus inimigos à porta.	5 Those who sow in tears will reap with cries of joy.
	6 Those who go forth weeping, carrying sacks of seed, Will return with cries of joy, carrying their bundled sheaves.
