Zachariæ 5

VULGATA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Et conversus sum, et levavi oculos meos, et vidi, et ecce volumen volans.	1 Again raising my eyes, I had a vision. There was a flying scrol .
2 Et dixit ad me : Quid tu vides ? Et dixi : Ego video volumen volans : longitudo ejus viginti cubitorum, et latitudo ejus decem cubitorum.	2 The angel who was talking to me said, 'What do you see?' I replied, 'I see a flying scroll; it is twenty cubits long and ten cubits wide.'
3 Et dixit ad me : Hæc est maledictio quæ egreditur super faciem omnis terræ : quia omnis fur, sicut ibi scriptum est, judicabitur, et omnis jurans ex hoc similiter judicabitur.	3 He then said to me, 'This is God's curse sweeping across the face of the whole country; for, accordingto what it says on one side, every thief wil be banished and, according to what it says on the other, everyonewho commits perjury in my name wil be banished from it.
4 Educam illud, dicit Dominus exercituum : et veniet ad domum furis, et ad domum jurantis in nomine meo mendaciter : et commorabitur in medio domus ejus, et consumet eam, et ligna ejus, et lapides ejus.	4 I am going to release it -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares -- for it to enter the house of the thief and ofanyone who commits perjury in my name, for it to settle deep within his house and consume it, timber, stone andal .'
5 Et egressus est angelus qui loquebatur in me, et dixit ad me : Leva oculos tuos, et vide quid est hoc quod egreditur.	5 The angel who was talking to me appeared and said to me, 'Raise your eyes, and see what this is,going along.'
6 Et dixi : Quidnam est ? Et ait : Hæc est amphora egrediens. Et dixit : Hæc est oculus eorum in universa terra.	6 I said, 'What is it?' He said, 'It is a bushel measure going along.' He went on, 'This is their guiltthroughout the country.'
7 Et ecce talentum plumbi portabatur, et ecce mulier una sedens in medio amphoræ.	7 At this, a disc of lead was raised, and I saw a woman sitting inside the barrel.
8 Et dixit : Hæc est impietas. Et projecit eam in medio amphoræ, et misit massam plumbeam in os ejus.	8 He said, 'This is Wickedness.' And he rammed her back into the barrel and jammed its mouth shut withthe mass of lead.
9 Et levavi oculos meos, et vidi : et ecce duæ mulieres egredientes : et spiritus in alis earum, et habebant alas quasi alas milvi, et levaverunt amphoram inter terram et cælum.	9 I raised my eyes, and there were two women appearing. The wind caught their wings -- they had wingslike a stork's; they raised the barrel midway between earth and heaven.
10 Et dixi ad angelum qui loquebatur in me : Quo istæ deferunt amphoram ?	10 I then said to the angel who was talking to me, 'Where are they taking the barrel?'
11 Et dixit ad me : Ut ædificetur ei domus in terra Sennaar, et stabiliatur, et ponatur ibi super basem suam.	11 He replied, 'To build a temple for it in the land of Shinar and make a pedestal on which to put it.'
