Proverbi 7

LA SACRA BIBBIA	CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAIN
1 Figlio mio, custodisci le mie parole, conserva presso di te i miei precetti.	1 My son, guard my words and conceal my precepts within you.
2 Custodisci i miei precetti e tu vivrai, e il mio insegnamento come la pupilla dei tuoi occhi.	2 Son, preserve my commandments, and you shall live. And keep my law as the pupil of your eye.
3 Attaccali alle tue dita, scrivili sulla tavoletta del tuo cuore.	3 Bind it with your fingers; write it on the tablets of your heart.
4 Di' alla sapienza: "Tu sei la mia sorella", chiama "amica" l'intelligenza,	4 Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,” and call prudence your friend.
5 per custodirti dalla donna altrui, dall'estranea, che adopera parole seducenti.	5 So may she guard you from the woman who is an outsider, and from the stranger who sweetens her words.
6 Alla finestra della mia casa, attraverso il mio cancelletto io spiavo	6 For I gaze from the window of my house, through the lattice,
7 e ho visto tra gli ingenui, ho scorto tra i figlioli un giovane povero di spirito.	7 and I see little ones. I consider a frenzied youth,

13 Lo tira a sé, lo stringe; con un fare sfrontato gli dice:	13 And overtaking the youth, she kisses him, and with a provocative face, she flatters him, saying:
14 "Avevo da far dei sacrifici; proprio oggi ho adempiuto i miei voti;	14 “I vowed sacrifices for well-being. Today I have repaid my vows.
15 per questo sono uscita e ti son venuta incontro, col desiderio di incontrarti e ti ho trovato.	15 Because of this, I have gone out to meet you, desiring to see you, and I have found you.
16 Con drappi ho adornato il mio giaciglio, con tappeti di stoffa egiziana.	16 I have woven my bed with cords. I have strewn it with embroidered tapestries from Egypt.
17 Ho cosparso il mio letto di mirra, di aloè e di cinnamomo.	17 I have sprinkled my bed with myrrh, aloe, and cinnamon.
18 Vieni! Inebriamoci d'amore fino al mattino, godiamo insieme nel piacere.	18 Come, let us be inebriated in abundance, and let us delight in the embraces of desire, until the day begins to dawn.
19 Non c'è il marito in casa, è partito per un lontano viaggio;	19 For my husband is not in his house. He has gone away on a very long journey.
20 la borsa dell'argento ha portato via con sé, soltanto al plenilunio farà ritorno a casa!".	20 He took with him a bag of money. He will return to his house on the day of the full moon.”

24 E ora, figlio mio, ascoltami, fa' attenzione alle parole di mia bocca:	24 Therefore, my son, hear me now, and attend to the words of my mouth.
25 non devii il tuo cuore, seguendo le sue strade, non ti smarrire mai sui suoi sentieri.	25 Do not let your mind be pulled into her ways. And do not be deceived by her paths.
26 Molti sono stati da lei feriti a morte, i più robusti sono stati le sue vittime.	26 For she has tossed aside many wounded, and some of those who were very strong have been slain by her.
27 Via degli inferi è la sua casa, discesa ai palazzi della morte!	27 Her household is the way to Hell, reaching even to the inner places of death.
