Geremia 32

BIBBIA MARTINI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Parola detta a Geremia dal Signore l'anno decimo di Sedecia re di Giuda, che è l'anno diciottesimo di Nabuchodonosor.	1 The word that came to Jeremiah from Yahweh in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which wasthe eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar.
2 L'esercito del re di Babilonia assediava allora Gerusalemme; e Geremia profeta era rinchiuso nel cortile della prigione, la quale era nella casa del re di Giuda;	2 The army of the king of Babylon was then besieging Jerusalem, and the prophet Jeremiah wasconfined in the Court of the Guard in the king of Judah's palace,
3 Imperocché ve l'avea fatto rinchiudere Sedecia re di Giuda, dicendo: Perchè profetizzi tu, e dici: Queste cose ha dette il Signore: ecco, che io darò questa città in potere del re di Babilonia, ed ei la espugnerà?	3 where Zedekiah king of Judah had confined him, saying, 'Why do you keep prophesying like this,"Yahweh says this: I am going to hand this city over to the king of Babylon and he wil capture it;
4 E Sedecia re di Giuda non fuggirà dalle mani de' Caldei; ma sarà dato in potere del re di Babilonia, e parlerà con lui testa a testa, e gli occhi di lui vedran gli occhi dell'altro:	4 and Zedekiah king of Judah will not escape the clutches of the Chaldaeans, but will certainly behanded over to the king of Babylon, speak to him personally and see him face to face.
5 E quegli condurrà Sedecia a Babilonia; ed ivi egli starà sino a tanto, che io lo visiti, dice il Signore: che se voi combatterete contro i Caldei, non avrete nissun prospero successo.	5 He wil take Zedekiah away to Babylon and there he wil stay (until I attend to him, Yahweh declares. Ifyou fight the Chaldaeans you will not succeed!)" '
6 E Geremia disse: Il Signore mi ha parlato, dicendo:	6 Jeremiah said, 'The word of Yahweh has been addressed to me as fol ows,
7 Ecco, che verrà a te Hanameel figliuolo di Sellum tuo cugino da canto di padre, a dirti: Comperati il mio campo, che è in Anathoth: imperocché a te si compete il comprarlo come a parente dello stesso sangue.	7 "Look, Hanamel the son of your uncle Shal um wil come to you and say: Buy my field at Anathoth, foryou have the right of redemption to purchase it."
8 E venne a me Hanameel figliuolo del mio zio paterno, secondo la Parola del Signore nel cortile della prigione, e mi disse: Fa acquisto del mio campo, che è in Anathoth nella terra di Beniamin: perocché tu hai diritto alla eredità, e tu se' parente, e dei farne acquisto. Or io compresi, che questa Parola veniva dal Signore,	8 And, as Yahweh had said, my cousin Hanamel came to me, in the Court of the Guard and said, "Buymy field at Anathoth in the territory of Benjamin, for you have the right of inheritance and right of redemption; buyit." I knew then that this was Yahweh's order.
9 E comperai da Hanameel figliuolo di mio zio paterno il campo, che è in Anathoth: e gli pesai il denaro, sette stateri, e dieci stateri d'argento.	9 Accordingly, I bought the field from my cousin Hanamel of Anathoth and weighed him out the money:seventeen silver shekels.
10 È scrissi il contratto, e lo sigillai presenti i testimonj: e pesai il denaro sulla bilancia.	10 I drew up the deeds and sealed it, cal ed in witnesses and weighed out the money on the scales.
11 E presi il contratto di compra segnato con le sue stipulazioni, e formalità, e co' sigilli al di fuori,	11 I then took both the sealed deed of purchase (with its stipulations and clauses) and its open copy
12 E diedi questo contratto di compra a Baruch figliuolo di Neri, figliuolo di Maasia, in presenza di Hanameele mio cugino, in presenza de' testimonj, che erano scritti nel contratto di compra, e in presenza di tutti i Giudei, che stavano a seder nel cortile della prigione.	12 and handed over the deed of purchase to Baruch son of Neriah, son of Mahseiah, in the presence ofmy cousin Hanamel, of the witnesses who had signed the deed of purchase, and of al the Judaeans who thenhappened to be in the Court of the Guard.
13 E diedi ordine in presenza di questi a Baruch, dicendo:	13 In their presence I gave Baruch this order,
14 Queste cose dice il Signor degli eserciti, il Dio d'Israele: Prendi questi contratti, questo contratto di compra sigillato, e questo, che è aperto, e mettili in un vaso di terra cotta, affinchè possano conservarsi per lungo tempo;	14 "Yahweh Sabaoth, God of Israel, says this: Take these deeds, the sealed deed of purchase and itsopen copy, and put them in an earthenware pot, so that they may be preserved for a long time.
15 Imperocché queste cose dice il Signor degli eserciti, il Dio d'Israele: Si compereranno tuttavia e case, e campi, e vigne in questa terra.	15 For Yahweh Sabaoth, God of Israel, says this: Houses, fields and vineyards wil again be bought inthis country."
16 E feci orazione al Signore, dopo che ebbi dato il contratto di compra a Baruch, dicendo:	16 'After I had entrusted the deed of purchase to Baruch son of Neriah, I prayed to Yahweh as fol ows,
17 Ahi, ahi, ahi, Signore Dio: ecco, che tu creasti il cielo, e la terra colla tua possanza grande, e coll'alto tuo braccio; nulla sarà difficile a te:	17 "Ah, Lord Yahweh, you made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm.To you nothing is impossible.
18 Tu se' quegli, che fai misericordia per mille generazioni, e l'iniquità de' padri punisci dopo di essi sopra i lor figli: tu fortissimo, grande, e possente, il tuo nome, è il Dio degli eserciti.	18 You show faithful love to thousands but repay the fathers' guilt in full to their children after them. Greatand mighty God, whose name is Yahweh Sabaoth,
19 Grande ne' tuoi consigli, incomprensibile ne' tuoi disegni: gli occhi del quale sono aperti sopra tutti gli andamenti de' figliuoli di Adamo, affin di rendere a ognuno secondo le opere sue, e secondo il frutto de' lor pensamenti.	19 great in purpose, mighty in deed, whose eyes are open on al human ways, rewarding every individualas that person's ways and actions deserve!
20 Il quale fino a questo di facesti segni, e prodigi nella terra d'Egitto, e in Israele, e tra tutti gli uomini, e facesti a te un nome, quale tu hai in oggi.	20 You performed signs and wonders in Egypt, as you stil do in Israel and among humanity today. Youhave won the name for yourself which is yours today.
21 E traesti il tuo popolo dalla terra d'Egitto per mezzo di segni, e prodigi, con man robusta, e con braccio disteso, e con grandi terrori.	21 You brought your people Israel out of Egypt with signs and wonders, with mighty hand andoutstretched arm and fearsome terror.
22 E desti lor questa terra', come a' padri loro promessa avevi con giuramento di darla ad essi, terra, che scorre latte, e miele.	22 Then you gave them this country which you had promised on oath to their ancestors, a countryflowing with milk and honey.
23 Ed entrarono in essa, e la hanno posseduta: e non ubbidirono alla tua voce, e non camminarono nella tua legge: e non fecero tutto quello, che tu lor comandasti di fare, onde son cadute sopra di essi tutte queste sciagure.	23 They then entered it, taking possession of it, but they would not listen to your voice nor follow yourLaw: they would do nothing you ordered them to do; and so you made this total disaster befall them.
24 Ecco, che le macchine da guerra sono alzate contro la città, per espugnarla: ed ella è data in poter de' Caldei, che la combattono colla spada, colla fame, e colla peste: e tutto quello, che tu hai predetto è accaduto, come vedi tu stesso.	24 Look! The earthworks are already in place to take the city and, by means of sword, famine andplague, the city is now within the clutches of the Chaldaeans attacking it. What you said has now come true, asyou see.
25 E tu mi dici, o Signore Dio: Compera col denaro un campo, presenti i testimoni, quando la citta è abbandonata al poter de' Caldei?	25 Yet you yourself, Lord Yahweh, told me: Buy the field, pay for it, have it witnessed although the city isalready in the Chaldaeans' clutches." '
26 E il Signore parlò a Geremia, dicendo:	26 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,
27 Ecco, che io sono il Signore Dio di tutti gli uomini: vi sarà egli cosa alcuna difficile a me?	27 'Look, I am Yahweh, God of al humanity. Is anything impossible to me?
28 Per questo cosi parla il Signore: Ecco, che io darò questa città nelle mani de Caldei, e in potere del re di Babilonia, e la prenderanno.	28 'So, Yahweh says this, "I shal hand this city over to the Chaldaeans and to Nebuchadnezzar king ofBabylon, and he wil capture it;
29 E verranno i Caldei a battaglia contro questa città, e le appiccheranno il fuoco, e la incendieranno insieme colle case, sui tetti delle quali sagrificavano a Baal, e facean libagioni agli dei stranieri per muovermi ad ira;	29 the Chaldaeans attacking this city wil enter it, fire it and burn it to the ground, with the houses onwhose roofs incense has been offered to Baal and libations poured to other gods, to provoke my anger.
30 Imperocché eran usi i figliuoli d'Israele, e i figliuoli di Giuda a sempre mal fare sugli occhi miei, fin dalla loro adolescenza: i figliuoli d'Israele, i quali sino a questo punto mi esacerbano colle opere delle mani loro, dice il Signore:	30 For the people of Israel and Judah alike have done nothing but what displeases me since they wereyoung. (The people of Israel in fact have done nothing but provoke my anger by their actions, Yahweh declares.)
31 Imperocché oggetto del mio furore, e della mia indegnazione è per me questa città dal dì, nel quale la edificarono, fino a questo giorno, in cui mi sarà tolta davanti agli occhi,	31 Yes, from the day when this city was built until today, it has been such cause of anger and wrath tome that I mean to remove it from my sight,
32 Per le malvagità de' figliuoli di Israele, e de' figliuoli di Giuda, commesse da essi, quando mi provocavano ad ira, eglino, e i loro regi, e i loro principi, e i lor sacerdoti, e i loro profeti, gli uomini di Giuda, e gli abitatori di Gerusalemme.	32 on account of al the wickedness the people of Israel and the people of Judah have done to provokemy anger; they, their kings, their chief men, their priests, their prophets, the people of Judah and the inhabitantsof Jerusalem.
33 E volsero a me le spalle, e non e la faccia, quando di buon ora io gl'istruiva, e gli avvisava; ed ei non volevano udire, né ammettere disciplina.	33 They turned to me their backs, never their faces; and though I taught them so urgently, so untiringly,they would not listen and accept correction.
34 E posero i loro idoli nella casa, che porta il mio nome, affin di contaminarla.	34 Instead, they set up their Horrors in the Temple that bears my name to defile it,
35 E alzarono a Baal gli altari, che son nella valle del figliuolo di Ennom, per consacrarvi a Mojoch i figli suoi, e le figlie: cosa, che io non comandai loro giammai, né mi cadde in pensiero, ch'ei facessero simile abbominazione, e Giuda precipitassero nel peccato.	35 and built the high places of Baal in the Val ey of Ben-Hinnom, to burn their sons and daughters alivein honour of Molech: a thing I have never ordered, that had never entered my thoughts -- that they would causeJudah to sin by anything so loathsome!
36 E adesso dopo queste cose, così parla il Signore, il Dio d'Israele a questa citta, la qual voi dite, che sarà data in potere del re di Babilonia, a forza di spada, di fame, e di peste:	36 "So now, this is what Yahweh, God of Israel, says about this city of which you now say: By means ofsword, famine and plague, it is already within the king of Babylon's clutches:
37 Ecco, che io li raunerò da tutti i paesi, pe' quali io gli avrò dispersi nel mio furore, nell'ira, e nell'indegnazione mia grande: e li ricondurrò in questo luogo, e farò, che lo abitino senza timori.	37 Look, I shall gather them in from al the countries where I have driven them in my anger, my fury andgreat wrath. I shal bring them back to this place and make them live in safety.
38 E saranno mio popolo, ed io sarò loro Dio.	38 Then they will be my people, and I shall be their God.
39 E darò loro un cuor solo, e un solo culto, affinchè temano me per tutti i lor giorni, e felici sian essi, e i loro figli dopo di loro.	39 I shal give them singleness of heart and singleness of conduct so that they wil always fear me, fortheir own good and that of their children after them.
40 E farò con essi un'alleanza eterna, e non cesserò mai di beneficargli; e il mio timore porrò nel cuor loro, affinchè non si allontanino da me.	40 I shal make an everlasting covenant with them, never to cease in my efforts for their welfare, and Ishall put respect for me in their hearts, so that they wil never turn away from me again.
41 E sarà mio gaudio il far loro de' benefici, e gli stabilirò in questa terra veracemente, di tutto cuore, e con tutto il mio spirito.	41 My joy wil lie in them and in doing them good, and I shal plant them firmly in this country, with al myheart and soul.
42 Imperocché queste cose dice il Signore: Siccome io ho mandato sopra questo popolo tutto questo gran male, così manderò sopra di essi tutto il bene, che lor prometto.	42 For Yahweh says this: Just as I have brought this complete and total disaster on this people, so I shalbring them al the good things I have promised them.
43 E torneranno a possedersi i campi in questa terra, della quale voi dite, ch'ella è deserta per non esservi rimaso uomo, né giumento, e per essere stata data in poter de' Caldei.	43 Fields wil again be bought in this country of which you now say: It is a wasteland without human oranimal, already in the clutches of the Chaldaeans.
44 Si compreranno con denaro i campi, e se ne faranno i contratti, e questi saran sigillati alla presenza di testimoni, nella terra di Beniamin, e nel territorio di Gerusalemme, e nelle città di Giuda, e nelle città di montagna, e nelle città campestri, e nelle città, che sono a mezzogiorno; perocché porrò fine alla loro schiavitudine, dice il Signore.	44 People wil buy fields, pay money, draw up deeds, seal them and have them witnessed in the territoryof Benjamin, in the districts round Jerusalem, in the towns of Judah, of the highlands, of the lowlands and of theNegeb. For I shal bring back their captives, Yahweh declares." '
