1 Salmo di Davidde quando lo perseguitava Assalonne suo figlio. Signore, esaudisci la mia orazione, porgi le orecchie alle mie suppliche secondo la tua verità, esaudiscimi secondo la tua giustizia.	1 A Psalm of David, when his son Absalom was pursuing him. O Lord, hear my prayer. Incline your ear to my supplication in your truth. Heed me according to your justice.
2 E non entrare in giudizio col tuo servo: dappoiché nissun vivente sarà riconosciuto per giusto al tuo cospetto.	2 And do not enter into judgment with your servant. For all the living will not be justified in your sight.
3 Perché il nimico ha perseguitato l'anima mia: ha umiliata la mia vita fino alla terra.	3 For the enemy has pursued my soul. He has lowered my life to the earth. He has stationed me in darkness, like the dead of ages past.
4 Mi ha confinato in luoghi tenebrosi, come i morti di gran tempo; ed è in volto nell'affanno il mio spirito: il mio cuore si è conturbato dentro di me.	4 And my spirit has been in anguish over me. My heart within me has been disturbed.
5 Mi son ricordato de' giorni antichi: ho meditate tutte le opere tue: meditava le cose fatte dalle tue mani.	5 I have called to mind the days of antiquity. I have been meditating on all your works. I have meditated on the workings of your hands.
6 A te io stesi le mani mie: l'anima mia è a te come una terrà priva di acqua:	6 I have extended my hands to you. My soul is like a land without water before you.
7 Esaudiscimi prontamente, o Signore: è venuto meno il mio spirito. Non rivolger la tua faccia da me: perché sarei simile a que', che scendono nella fossa.	7 O Lord, heed me quickly. My spirit has grown faint. Do not turn your face away from me, lest I become like those who descend into the pit.
8 Fa ch'io senta al mattino la tua misericordia, perché in te ho sperato. Fammi conoscer la via, che ho da battere, perché a te ho elevata l'anima mia.	8 Make me hear your mercy in the morning. For I have hoped in you. Make known to me the way that I should walk. For I have lifted up my soul to you.
9 Liberami, o Signore, da' miei ne mici: a te son ricorso: insegnami a far la tua volontà, perché mio Dio se' tu.	9 O Lord, rescue me from my enemies. I have fled to you.
10 Il tuo spirito buono mi condurrà per diritto cammino: pel nome tuo, o Signore, mi darai vita secondo la tua equità.	10 Teach me to do your will. For you are my God. Your good Spirit will lead me into the righteous land.
11 Trarrai dalla tribolazione l'anima mia, e per tua misericordia manderai dispersi i miei nemici.	11 For the sake of your name, O Lord, you will revive me in your fairness. You will lead my soul out of tribulation.
12 E dispergerai tutti coloro, che affliggono l'anima mia, perché tuo servo son io.	12 And you will scatter my enemies in your mercy. And you will destroy all those who afflict my soul. For I am your servant.
