1 QUESTE son le mosse de’ figliuoli d’Israele, che uscirono fuor del paese di Egitto, distinti per le loro schiere, sotto la condotta di Mosè e d’Aaronne;	1 These were the stages of the journey made by the Israelites when they left Egypt in their companiesunder the leadership of Moses and Aaron.
2 Or Mosè scrisse le lor partite secondo ch’essi si mossero per lo comandamento del Signore; queste, dico, son le lor mosse, secondo le lor partite:	2 Moses recorded their starting-points in writing whenever they moved on at Yahweh's order. Thestages, from one starting-point to another, were as fol ows:
3 Essi adunque si partirono di Rameses, nel primo mese, nel quintodecimo giorno del primo mese; i figliuoli d’Israele si partirono il giorno appresso la Pasqua, a mano alzata, alla vista di tutti gli Egizj,	3 They left Rameses in the first month. It was the fifteenth day of the first month, the day following thePassover, when the Israelites confidently set out, under the eyes of al Egypt.
4 mentre gli Egizj seppellivano quelli che il Signore avea percossi fra loro, che erano tutti i primogeniti. Or il Signore avea fatti giudicii sopra i lor dii.	4 The Egyptians were burying those of their own people whom Yahweh had struck down, all the first-born; Yahweh had carried out his judgement on their gods.
5 I figliuoli d’Israele adunque, partitisi di Rameses, si accamparono in Succot.	5 The Israelites left Rameses and camped at Succoth.
6 E, partitisi di Succot, si accamparono in Etam, ch’è nell’estremità del deserto.	6 Then they left Succoth and encamped at Etham which is on the edge of the desert.
7 E, partitisi di Etam, si rivolsero verso la foce di Hirot, ch’è dirincontro a Baal-sefon, e si accamparono dinanzi a Migdol.	7 They left Etham, turned back to Pi-Hahiroth, opposite Baal-Zephon, and encamped before Migdol.
8 Poi, partitisi d’innanzi a Hirot, passarono per mezzo il mare, traendo verso il deserto; e, andati tre giornate di cammino per lo deserto di Etam, si accamparono in Mara.	8 They left Pi-Hahiroth, crossed the sea into the desert, and after marching for three days in the desertof Etham they encamped at Marah.
9 E, partitisi di Mara, giunsero in Elim, ove erano dodici fonti d’acqua, e settanta palme; e si accamparono quivi.	9 They left Marah and reached Elim. At Elim there were twelve springs of water and seventy palmtrees; they encamped there.
10 E, partitisi di Elim, si accamparono presso al mar rosso.	10 They left Elim and encamped by the Sea of Reeds.
11 E, partitisi dal mar rosso, si accamparono nel deserto di Sin.	11 They left the Sea of Reeds and encamped in the desert of Sin.

38 E il sacerdote Aaronne salì in sul monte di Hor, per comandamento del Signore, e morì quivi nell’anno quarantesimo da che i figliuoli d’Israele furono usciti fuor del paese di Egitto, nel quinto mese, alle calendi.	38 The priest Aaron went up Mount Hor on Yahweh's orders and died there in the fortieth year of theexodus of the Israelites from Egypt, in the fifth month, on the first day of the month.
39 Or Aaronne era d’età di cenventitrè anni, quando egli morì nel monte di Hor.	39 Aaron was a hundred and twenty-three years old when he died on Mount Hor.
40 Allora il Cananeo, re di Arad, che abitava verso il mezzodì, nel paese di Canaan, intese la venuta de’ figliuoli di Israele.	40 The king of Arad, the Canaanite who lived in the Negeb of Canaan, heard of the Israelites' arrival.
41 Poi, partitisi dal monte di Hor, si accamparono in Salmona.	41 They left Mount Hor and encamped at Zalmonah.
42 E, partitisi di Salmona, si accamparono in Funon.	42 They left Zalmonah and encamped at Punon.
43 E, partitisi di Funon, si accamparono in Obot.	43 They left Punon and encamped at Oboth.
44 E, partitisi di Obot, si accamparono a’ poggi di Abarim, a’ confini di Moab.	44 They left Oboth and encamped in Moabite territory at Iye-Abarim.
45 E, partitisi da’ Poggi, si accamparono in Dibon-Gad.	45 They left Iyim and encamped at Dibon-Gad.
46 E, partitisi di Dibon-Gad, si accamparono in Almon, verso Diblataim.	46 They left Dibon-Gad and encamped at Almon-Diblathaim.
47 E, partitisi d’Almon, verso Diblataim, si accamparono nei monti di Abarim, dirimpetto a Nebo.	47 They left Almon-Diblathaim and encamped in the Abarim mountains facing Nebo.
48 E, partitisi da’ monti di Abarim, si accamparono nelle campagne di Moab, presso al Giordano di Gerico.	48 They left the Abarim mountains and encamped on the Plains of Moab, near the Jordan oppositeJericho.
49 E si accamparono presso al Giordano, da Betiesimot fino ad Abel-Sittim, nelle campagne di Moab	49 They encamped near the Jordan between Beth-ha-Jeshimoth and Abel-ha-Shittim, on the Plains ofMoab.
50 E il Signore parlò a Mosè nelle campagne di Moab, presso al Giordano di Gerico, dicendo:	50 Yahweh spoke to Moses on the Plains of Moab, near the Jordan by Jericho, and said:
51 Parla a’ figliuoli d’Israele, e di’ loro: Quando sarete passati il Giordano, e sarete entrati nel paese di Canaan,	51 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "When you have crossed the Jordan into Canaan,
52 cacciate d’innanzi a voi tutti gli abitanti del paese, e disfate tutte le loro immagini, e tutte le loro statue di getto, e distruggete tutti i loro alti luoghi.	52 you wil drive out al the local inhabitants before you. You wil destroy al their painted images, youwil destroy al their metal statues and you wil demolish al their high places.
53 E mettetevi in possession del paese, e abitate in esso; conciossiachè io vi abbia donato il paese, per possederlo.	53 You wil take possession of the country and settle in it, for I have given you the country as yourproperty.
54 E spartite la possessione del paese a sorte, secondo le vostre nazioni; a quelle che sono in maggior numero date maggior possessione, e minore a quelle che sono in minor numero; in qualunque luogo la sorte d’alcuna gli sarà scaduta quello sia suo; spartitevi la possessione del paese per le vostre tribù paterne.	54 You wil share it out by lot among your clans. To a large clan you wil give a larger heritage, and to asmal er clan you wil give a smal er heritage. Where the lot fal s for each, that wil be his. Your heritage wildepend on the size of your tribe.
55 E se voi non iscacciate d’innanzi a voi gli abitanti del paese, que’ di loro che avrete lasciati di resto vi saranno stecchi agli occhi, e spine a’ fianchi, e vi nimicheranno nel paese nel quale abiterete.	55 If, however, you do not drive out the local inhabitants before you, the ones you al ow to remain wilbe thorns in your eyes and thistles in your sides and wil harass you in the country where you are living,
56 E avverrà ch’io farò a voi, come io avea proposto di fare a loro	56 and I shal treat you as I intended to treat them." '
