4 Radiant you are, and renowned for the mountains of booty | 4 There the flashing arrows were shattered, shield, sword, and weapons of war. Selah |
5 taken from them. Heroes are now sleeping their last sleep, the warriors' arms have failed them; | 5 Terrible and awesome are you, stronger than the ancient mountains. |
6 at your reproof, God of Jacob, chariot and horse stand stunned. | 6 Despoiled are the bold warriors; they sleep their final sleep; the hands of all the mighty have failed. |
7 You, you alone, strike terror! Who can hold his ground in your presence when your anger strikes? | 7 At your roar, O God of Jacob, chariots and steeds lay still. |
8 From heaven your verdicts thunder, the earth is silent with dread | 8 So terrible and awesome are you; who can stand before you and your great anger? |
9 when God takes his stand to give judgement, to save all the humble of the earth.Pause | 9 From the heavens you pronounced sentence; the earth was terrified and reduced to silence, |
