BIBBIA VOLGARE	KING JAMES BIBLE
1 L'uomo nato della femina, vivente breve tempo, è ripieno di molte miserie.	1 Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.
2 Il quale come fiore viene, e conculcato è; fugge sì come ombra, e non rimane mai in uno medesimo stato.	2 He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not.
3 E pensi esser cosa degna di aprire sopra cotal cosa gli occhii tuoi, e menarlo teco nel giudicio?	3 And dost thou open thine eyes upon such an one, and bringest me into judgment with thee?
4 Chi puote fare la cosa monda, concetta del non mondo seme? Or non sei tu quello solo?	4 Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one.
5 Brevi sono li di dell' uomo; lo numero delli mesi suoi è appresso te; e ordinasti li termini suoi, li quali non si poteranno trapassare.	5 Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass;
6 Pàrtiti uno poco da lui, acciò ch' elli istia in riposo, insino che venghi il dì desiderato, e sì come del mercenaio siano li dì suoi.	6 Turn from him, that he may rest, till he shall accomplish, as an hireling, his day.
7 Lo legno ha speranza; se tagliato e' sarà, da capo si fa verde, e li rami suoi mettono li rampolli.	7 For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.
8 Se invecchierà nella terra la sua radice, e nella polvere morto sarà lo suo broccone,	8 Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground;
9 all' odore dell' acque germinerae, e farae la moltitudine de' rami, quasi come di prima piantato era.	9 Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant.
10 Ma l' uomo, quando è morto, e sarae spogliato e consumato, domandatene, vi priego: dove lui è?	10 But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he?
11 E come se si partissono l'acque del mare, e lo fiume fatto vôto si secca,	11 As the waters fail from the sea, and the flood decayeth and drieth up:
12 così l'uomo, quando morrà, non risusciterà; insino che il cielo sia attrito, non si sveglierae, nè non si leverae dal suo sonno.	12 So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep.
13 Chi mi darà questo, che in inferno tu mi difendi e nascondimi, infino che trapassi lo tuo furore, e òrdinimi il tempo nel quale tu ti ricordi di me?	13 O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me!
14 E pensi tu, che morto l'uomo, un' altra volta viva? tutti i dì, ne' quali io ora cavalco, aspetto insino a tanto che venga la mia immutazione.	14 If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.
15 Chiamerae me, e io risponderò a te; allo lavorio delle tue mani porgerai la tua mano diritta.	15 Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands.
16 In veritade li andamenti miei annumerasti, ma perdona alli peccati miei.	16 For now thou numberest my steps: dost thou not watch over my sin?
17 Segnasti quasi come nel sacculo li peccati miei, ma curasti la mia iniquitade.	17 My transgression is sealed up in a bag, and thou sewest up mine iniquity.
18 Lo monte cadente scorrerà, e lo sasso sarà trasportato del suo luogo.	18 And surely the mountain falling cometh to nought, and the rock is removed out of his place.
19 Le acque cavano le pietre, e per la innondanza dell' acque a poco a poco la terra è consumata; e adunque li uomini similmente perderai.	19 The waters wear the stones: thou washest away the things which grow out of the dust of the earth; and thou destroyest the hope of man.
20 Fortificastilo uno poco, acciò che in perpetuo trapassasse; e immuterai la faccia sua, e manderai lui.	20 Thou prevailest for ever against him, and he passeth: thou changest his countenance, and sendest him away.
21 Ovvero se saranno nobili i suoi figliuoli, ovvero non nobili, non intenderà.	21 His sons come to honour, and he knoweth it not; and they are brought low, but he perceiveth it not of them.
22 Ma pure la carne sua, insino che viverà, sì dorrà; e l'anima sua sopra sè medesimo piangerà (sempre).	22 But his flesh upon him shall have pain, and his soul within him shall mourn.
