DOUAI-RHEIMSNEW JERUSALEM
The inscription of a title to David himself. Preserve me, O Lord, for I have put trust in thee.1 [In a quiet voice Of David] Protect me, O God, in you is my refuge.
I have said to the Lord, thou art my God, for thou hast no need of my goods.2 To Yahweh I say, 'You are my Lord, my happiness is in none
To the saints, who are in his land, he hath made wonderful all my desires in them.3 of the sacred spirits of the earth.' They only take advantage of al who love them.
Their infirmities were multiplied: afterwards they made haste. I will not gather together their meetings for blood offerings: nor will I be mindful of their names by my lips.4 People flock to their teeming idols. Never shal I pour libations to them! Never take their names on mylips.
The Lord is the portion of my inheritance and of my cup: it is thou that wilt restore my inheritance to me.5 My birthright, my cup is Yahweh; you, you alone, hold my lot secure.
The lines are fallen unto me in goodly places: for my inheritance is goodly to me.6 The measuring-line marks out for me a delightful place, my birthright is al I could wish.
I will bless the Lord, who hath given me understanding: moreover my reins also have corrected me even till night.7 I bless Yahweh who is my counsel or, even at night my heart instructs me.
I set the Lord always in my sight: for he is at my right hand, that I be not moved.8 I keep Yahweh before me always, for with him at my right hand, nothing can shake me.
Therefore my heart hath been glad, and my tongue hath rejoiced: moreover my flesh also shall rest in hope.9 So my heart rejoices, my soul delights, my body too wil rest secure,
Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; nor wilt then give thy holy one to see corruption.10 for you wil not abandon me to Sheol, you cannot al ow your faithful servant to see the abyss.
Thou hast made known to me the ways of life, thou shalt fill me with joy with thy countenance: at thy right hand are delights even to the end.11 You wil teach me the path of life, unbounded joy in your presence, at your right hand delight for ever.
