1 Then Job answered, and said:	1 És felelt Jób, és ezt mondta:
2 Whose helper art thou? is it of him that is weak? and dost thou hold up the arm of him that has no strength?	2 »Kinek vagy a segítője? Gyenge valakinek? és erőtlennek karját gyámolítod?
3 To whom hast thou given counsel? perhaps to him that hath no wisdom, and thou hast shewn thy very great prudence.	3 Kinek adtál tanácsot? Annak talán, aki bölcsesség nélkül van, és kimutattad bőséges okosságodat?
4 Whom hast thou desired to teach? was it not him that made life?	4 Kit akarsz kitanítani? Talán őt, aki az életpárát teremtette?
5 Behold the giants groan under the waters, and they that dwell with them.	5 Íme, nyögnek az árnyszellemek a vizek és azok lakói alatt;
6 Hell is naked before him, and there is no covering for destruction.	6 mez nélkül van az alvilág előtte, és nincsen leple az enyészet helyének,
7 He stretched out the north over the empty space, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.	7 az űr fölé feszíti ki az északot s a földet a semmi fölé függeszti,
8 He bindeth up the waters in his clouds, so that they break not out and fall down together.	8 felhőibe kötözi a vizeket, hogy le ne szakadjanak egyszerre,
9 He withholdeth the face of his throne, and spreadeth his cloud over it.	9 elleplezi trónja színét, és felhőjét teríti föléje,
10 He hath set bounds about the waters, till light and darkness come to an end.	10 kört vont a vizek köré, odáig, ahol fény és sötétség érintkeznek.
11 The pillars of heaven tremble, and dread at his beck.	11 Reszketnek az ég oszlopai, és megrémülnek intésére.
12 By his power the seas are suddenly gathered together, and his wisdom has struck the proud one.	12 Ereje által fölkavarta a tengert, és értelmével szétzúzta Rahabot,
13 His spirit hath adorned the heavens, and his obstetric hand brought forth the winding serpent.	13 lehelete ékesítette fel az eget, és keze segítségével jött a világra a menekülő kígyó.
14 Lo, these things are said in part of his ways: and seeing we have heard scarce a little drop of his word, who shall be able to behold the thunder of his greatness?	14 Íme, ezek útjának csak egy részéről szólnak, ha már suttogó szavát is alig hallgathatjuk, fensége mennydörgését ki bírná felfogni?«
