Job 26

DOUAI-RHEIMSBIBLIA
Then Job answered, and said:1 Job tomó la palabra y dijo:
Whose helper art thou? is it of him that is weak? and dost thou hold up the arm of him that has no strength?2 ¡Qué bien has sostenido al débil y socorrido al brazo inválido!
To whom hast thou given counsel? perhaps to him that hath no wisdom, and thou hast shewn thy very great prudence.3 ¡Qué bien has aconsejado al ignorante, qué hábil talento has demostrado!
Whom hast thou desired to teach? was it not him that made life?4 ¿A quién has dirigido tus discursos, y de quién es el espíritu que ha salido de ti?
Behold the giants groan under the waters, and they that dwell with them.5 Las Sombras tiemblan bajo tierra, las aguas y sus habitantes se estremecen.
Hell is naked before him, and there is no covering for destruction.6 Ante él, el Seol está al desnudo, la Perdición al descubierto.
He stretched out the north over the empty space, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.7 El extiende el Septentrión sobre el vacío, sobre la nada suspende la tierra.
He bindeth up the waters in his clouds, so that they break not out and fall down together.8 El encierra las aguas en sus nubes, sin que bajo su peso el nublado reviente.
He withholdeth the face of his throne, and spreadeth his cloud over it.9 El encubre la cara de la luna llena, desplegando sobre ella su nublado.
He hath set bounds about the waters, till light and darkness come to an end.10 El trazó un cerco sobre la haz de las aguas, hasta el confín de la luz con las tinieblas,
The pillars of heaven tremble, and dread at his beck.11 Se tambalean las columnas del cielo, presas de terror a su amenaza.
By his power the seas are suddenly gathered together, and his wisdom has struck the proud one.12 Con su poder hendió la mar, con su destreza quebró a Ráhab.
His spirit hath adorned the heavens, and his obstetric hand brought forth the winding serpent.13 Su soplo abrillantó los cielos, su mano traspasó a la Serpiente Huidiza,
Lo, these things are said in part of his ways: and seeing we have heard scarce a little drop of his word, who shall be able to behold the thunder of his greatness?14 Estos son los contornos de sus obras, de que sólo percibimos un apagado eco. Y el trueno de su potencia, ¿quién lo captará?
