| 1 QUESTE son le mosse de’ figliuoli d’Israele, che uscirono fuor del paese di Egitto, distinti per le loro schiere, sotto la condotta di Mosè e d’Aaronne; | 1 These are the stages of the people of Israel, when they went forth out of the land of Egypt by their hosts under the leadership of Moses and Aaron. |
| 2 Or Mosè scrisse le lor partite secondo ch’essi si mossero per lo comandamento del Signore; queste, dico, son le lor mosse, secondo le lor partite: | 2 Moses wrote down their starting places, stage by stage, by command of the LORD; and these are their stages according to their starting places. |
| 3 Essi adunque si partirono di Rameses, nel primo mese, nel quintodecimo giorno del primo mese; i figliuoli d’Israele si partirono il giorno appresso la Pasqua, a mano alzata, alla vista di tutti gli Egizj, | 3 They set out from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the day after the passover the people of Israel went out triumphantly in the sight of all the Egyptians, |
| 4 mentre gli Egizj seppellivano quelli che il Signore avea percossi fra loro, che erano tutti i primogeniti. Or il Signore avea fatti giudicii sopra i lor dii. | 4 while the Egyptians were burying all their first-born, whom the LORD had struck down among them; upon their gods also the LORD executed judgments. |
| 5 I figliuoli d’Israele adunque, partitisi di Rameses, si accamparono in Succot. | 5 So the people of Israel set out from Rameses, and encamped at Succoth. |
| 6 E, partitisi di Succot, si accamparono in Etam, ch’è nell’estremità del deserto. | 6 And they set out from Succoth, and encamped at Etham, which is on the edge of the wilderness. |
| 7 E, partitisi di Etam, si rivolsero verso la foce di Hirot, ch’è dirincontro a Baal-sefon, e si accamparono dinanzi a Migdol. | 7 And they set out from Etham, and turned back to Pi-hahiroth, which is east of Baal-zephon; and they encamped before Migdol. |
| 8 Poi, partitisi d’innanzi a Hirot, passarono per mezzo il mare, traendo verso il deserto; e, andati tre giornate di cammino per lo deserto di Etam, si accamparono in Mara. | 8 And they set out from before Hahiroth, and passed through the midst of the sea into the wilderness, and they went a three days' journey in the wilderness of Etham, and encamped at Marah. |

| 38 E il sacerdote Aaronne salì in sul monte di Hor, per comandamento del Signore, e morì quivi nell’anno quarantesimo da che i figliuoli d’Israele furono usciti fuor del paese di Egitto, nel quinto mese, alle calendi. | 38 And Aaron the priest went up Mount Hor at the command of the LORD, and died there, in the fortieth year after the people of Israel had come out of the land of Egypt, on the first day of the fifth month. |
| 39 Or Aaronne era d’età di cenventitrè anni, quando egli morì nel monte di Hor. | 39 And Aaron was a hundred and twenty-three years old when he died on Mount Hor. |
| 40 Allora il Cananeo, re di Arad, che abitava verso il mezzodì, nel paese di Canaan, intese la venuta de’ figliuoli di Israele. | 40 And the Canaanite, the king of Arad, who dwelt in the Negeb in the land of Canaan, heard of the coming of the people of Israel. |
| 41 Poi, partitisi dal monte di Hor, si accamparono in Salmona. | 41 And they set out from Mount Hor, and encamped at Zalmonah. |
| 42 E, partitisi di Salmona, si accamparono in Funon. | 42 And they set out from Zalmonah, and encamped at Punon. |
| 43 E, partitisi di Funon, si accamparono in Obot. | 43 And they set out from Punon, and encamped at Oboth. |
| 44 E, partitisi di Obot, si accamparono a’ poggi di Abarim, a’ confini di Moab. | 44 And they set out from Oboth, and encamped at Iye-abarim, in the territory of Moab. |

| 49 E si accamparono presso al Giordano, da Betiesimot fino ad Abel-Sittim, nelle campagne di Moab | 49 they encamped by the Jordan from Beth-jeshimoth as far as Abel-shittim in the plains of Moab. |
| 50 E il Signore parlò a Mosè nelle campagne di Moab, presso al Giordano di Gerico, dicendo: | 50 And the LORD said to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, |
| 51 Parla a’ figliuoli d’Israele, e di’ loro: Quando sarete passati il Giordano, e sarete entrati nel paese di Canaan, | 51 "Say to the people of Israel, When you pass over the Jordan into the land of Canaan, |
| 52 cacciate d’innanzi a voi tutti gli abitanti del paese, e disfate tutte le loro immagini, e tutte le loro statue di getto, e distruggete tutti i loro alti luoghi. | 52 then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their figured stones, and destroy all their molten images, and demolish all their high places; |
| 53 E mettetevi in possession del paese, e abitate in esso; conciossiachè io vi abbia donato il paese, per possederlo. | 53 and you shall take possession of the land and settle in it, for I have given the land to you to possess it. |
| 54 E spartite la possessione del paese a sorte, secondo le vostre nazioni; a quelle che sono in maggior numero date maggior possessione, e minore a quelle che sono in minor numero; in qualunque luogo la sorte d’alcuna gli sarà scaduta quello sia suo; spartitevi la possessione del paese per le vostre tribù paterne. | 54 You shall inherit the land by lot according to your families; to a large tribe you shall give a large inheritance, and to a small tribe you shall give a small inheritance; wherever the lot falls to any man, that shall be his; according to the tribes of your fathers you shall inherit. |
| 55 E se voi non iscacciate d’innanzi a voi gli abitanti del paese, que’ di loro che avrete lasciati di resto vi saranno stecchi agli occhi, e spine a’ fianchi, e vi nimicheranno nel paese nel quale abiterete. | 55 But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then those of them whom you let remain shall be as pricks in your eyes and thorns in your sides, and they shall trouble you in the land where you dwell. |
| 56 E avverrà ch’io farò a voi, come io avea proposto di fare a loro | 56 And I will do to you as I thought to do to them." |
