Psalmi 107

1 Aleluja! Hvalite Jahvu jer je dobar, jer je dovijeka ljubav njegova!	1 Al eluia! Give thanks to Yahweh for he is good, his faithful love lasts for ever.
2 Tako nek’ reknu svi otkupljenici koje Jahve otkupi iz ruke dušmanske	2 So let them say whom Yahweh redeemed, whom he redeemed from the power of their enemies,
3 i koje skupi iz svih zemalja, s istoka i sa zapada, sa sjevera i s juga.	3 bringing them back from foreign lands, from east and west, north and south.
4 Lutahu pustinjom, u samoći pustoj, puta ne nalazeć’ do naseljena grada.	4 They were wandering in the desert, in the wastelands, could find no way to an inhabited city;
5 Gladni su bili, žeđu izmoreni, duša je klonula u njima.	5 they were hungry and thirsty, their life was ebbing away.
6 Tada zavapiše Jahvi u svojoj tjeskobi, i on ih istrže iz svih nevolja.	6 They cried out to Yahweh in their distress, he rescued them from their plight,
7 Pravim ih putem povede da stignu ka gradu naseljenu.	7 he set them on the road, straight to an inhabited city.
8 Neka hvale Jahvu za dobrotu njegovu, za čudesa njegova sinovima ljudskim!	8 Let them thank Yahweh for his faithful love, for his wonders for the children of Adam!
9 Jer gladnu dušu on nasiti, dušu izgladnjelu on napuni dobrima.	9 He has fed the hungry to their hearts' content, filled the starving with good things.
10 U mraku sjeđahu i u tmini, sputani bijedom i gvožđima,	10 Sojourners in gloom and shadow dark as death, fettered in misery and chains,
11 jer su prkosili besjedama Božjim i prezreli naum Svevišnjega.	11 for defying the orders of Yahweh, for scorning the plan of the Most High-
12 Srce im stoga skrši patnjama: posrtahu, a ne bješe nikog da im pomogne.	12 he subdued their spirit by hard labour; if they fel there was no one to help.
13 Tada zavapiše Jahvi u svojoj tjeskobi i on ih istrže iz svih nevolja.	13 They cried out to Yahweh in their distress, he rescued them from their plight,
14 Izvede ih iz tmina i mraka, raskide okove njihove.	14 he brought them out from gloom and shadow dark as death, and shattered their chains.
15 Neka hvale Jahvu za dobrotu njegovu, za čudesa njegova sinovima ljudskim!	15 Let them thank Yahweh for his faithful love, for his wonders for the children of Adam!
16 Jer razbi vrata mjedena i gvozdene polomi zasune.	16 He broke open gates of bronze and smashed iron bars.
17 Zbog svojih bezakonja bolovahu oni, ispaštajuć’ svoje opačine:	17 Fools for their rebellious ways, wretched because of their sins,
18 svako se jelo gadilo duši njihovoj, do vrata smrti oni dođoše.	18 finding all food repugnant, brought close to the gates of death-
19 Tada zavapiše Jahvi u svojoj tjeskobi i on ih istrže iz svih nevolja.	19 they cried out to Yahweh in their distress; he rescued them from their plight,
20 Riječ svoju posla da ih ozdravi i život im spasi od jame grobne.	20 he sent out his word and cured them, and rescued their life from the abyss.
21 Neka hvale Jahvu za dobrotu njegovu, za čudesa njegova sinovima ljudskim!	21 Let them thank Yahweh for his faithful love, for his wonders for the children of Adam!
22 Nek’ prinose žrtve zahvalnice i kličući nek’ djela njegova kazuju!	22 Let them offer thanksgiving sacrifices, and recount with shouts of joy what he has done!
23 Oni koji lađama zaploviše morem da po vodama silnim trguju:	23 Voyagers on the sea in ships, plying their trade on the great ocean,
24 oni vidješe djela Jahvina, čudesa njegova na pučini.	24 have seen the works of Yahweh, his wonders in the deep.
25 On reče i olujni se vjetar uzvitla što u visinu diže valove mora.	25 By his word he raised a storm-wind, lashing up towering waves.
26 Do neba se dizahu, u bezdan se spuštahu, u nevolji duša im ginula.	26 Up to the sky then down to the depths! Their stomachs were turned to water;
27 Teturahu i posrtahu kao pijani, sva ih je mudrost izdala.	27 they staggered and reeled like drunkards, and al their skill went under.
28 Tada zavapiše Jahvi u svojoj tjeskobi i on ih istrže iz svih nevolja.	28 They cried out to Yahweh in their distress, he rescued them from their plight,
29 Smiri oluju u tih povjetarac, valovi morski umukoše.	29 he reduced the storm to a calm, and al the waters subsided,
30 Obradovaše se tišini, u željenu luku on ih povede.	30 and he brought them, overjoyed at the stillness, to the port where they were bound.
31 Neka hvale Jahvu za dobrotu njegovu, za čudesa njegova sinovima ljudskim!	31 Let them thank Yahweh for his faithful love, for his wonders for the children of Adam!
32 Neka ga uzvisuju u narodnom zboru, neka ga hvale u vijeću staraca!	32 Let them extol him in the assembly of the people, and praise him in the council of elders.
33 On pretvori rijeke u pustinju, a izvore vodene u žednu zemlju;	33 He has turned rivers into desert, bubbling springs into arid ground,
34 plodonosnu zemlju u slanu pustaru zbog zloće žitelja njezinih.	34 fertile country into salt-flats, because the people living there were evil.
35 On obrati pustinju u jezero, a zemlju suhu u vodene izvore	35 But he has turned desert into stretches of water, arid ground into bubbling springs,
36 i naseli ondje izgladnjele te podigoše grad gdje će živjeti.	36 and has given the hungry a home, where they have built themselves a city.
37 Zasijaše njive, posadiše vinograde što im doniješe obilnu ljetinu.	37 There they sow fields and plant vines, and reap a harvest of their produce.
38 I on ih blagoslovi te se namnožiše silno i stada im se ne smanjiše.	38 He blesses them and their numbers increase, he keeps their cattle at full strength.
39 Prorijeđeni bjehu i prezreni pod teretom patnjâ i nevoljâ.	39 Their numbers had fal en, they had grown weak, under pressure of disaster and hardship;
40 Onaj što izlijeva prezir na knezove pusti ih da po bespuću pustom lutaju.	40 he covered princes in contempt, left them to wander in trackless wastes.
41 Iz nevolje podiže ubogog i obitelji k’o stada umnožî.	41 But the needy he raises from their misery, makes their families as numerous as sheep.
42 Videć’ to, čestiti neka se raduju, a zloća neka sebi usta začepi!	42 At the sight the honest rejoice, and the wicked have nothing to say.
43 Tko je mudar nek’ o svemu tom razmišlja i nek’ uvidi dobrotu Jahvinu!	43 Who is wise? Such a one should take this to heart, and come to understand Yahweh's faithful love.
