Première épître aux Corinthiens 3

1 Pour moi, frères, je n'ai pu vous parler comme à des hommes spirituels, mais comme à desêtres de chair, comme à de petits enfants dans le Christ.	1 And I, brethren, could not speak to you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal. As unto little ones in Christ.
2 C'est du lait que je vous ai donné à boire, non une nourriture solide; vous ne pouviez encore lasupporter. Mais vous ne le pouvez pas davantage maintenant,	2 I gave you milk to drink, not meat; for you were not able as yet. But neither indeed are you now able; for you are yet carnal.
3 car vous êtes encore charnels. Du moment qu'il y a parmi vous jalousie et dispute, n'êtes-vouspas charnels et votre conduite n'est-elle pas tout humaine?	3 For, whereas there is among you envying and contention, are you not carnal, and walk according to man ?
4 Lorsque vous dites, l'un: "Moi, je suis à Paul", et l'autre: "Moi, à Apollos", n'est-ce pas là bienhumain?	4 For while one saith, I indeed am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollo; are you not men ? What then is Apollo, and what is Paul?
5 Qu'est-ce donc qu'Apollos? Et qu'est-ce que Paul? Des serviteurs par qui vous avez embrasséla foi, et chacun d'eux selon ce que le Seigneur lui a donné.	5 The ministers of him whom you have believed; and to every one as the Lord hath given.
6 Moi, j'ai planté, Apollos a arrosé; mais c'est Dieu qui donnait la croissance.	6 I have planted, Apollo watered, but God gave the increase.
7 Ainsi donc, ni celui qui plante n'est quelque chose, ni celui qui arrose, mais celui qui donne lacroissance: Dieu.	7 Therefore, neither he that planteth is any thing, nor he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
8 Celui qui plante et celui qui arrose ne font qu'un, mais chacun recevra son propre salaire selonson propre labeur.	8 Now he that planteth, and he that watereth, ate one. And every man shall receive his own reward, according to his own labour.
9 Car nous sommes les coopérateurs de Dieu; vous êtes le champ de Dieu, l'édifice de Dieu.	9 For we are God's coadjutors: you are God's husbandry; you are God's building.
10 Selon la grâce de Dieu qui m'a été accordée, tel un bon architecte, j'ai posé le fondement. Unautre bâtit dessus. Mais que chacun prenne garde à la manière dont il y bâtit.	10 According to the grace of God that is given to me, as a wise architect, I have laid the foundation; and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
11 De fondement, en effet, nul n'en peut poser d'autre que celui qui s'y trouve, c'est-à-dire JésusChrist.	11 For other foundation no man can lay, but that which is laid; which is Christ Jesus.
12 Que si sur ce fondement on bâtit avec de l'or, de l'argent, des pierres précieuses, du bois, dufoin, de la paille,	12 Now if any man build upon this foundation, gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble:
13 l'oeuvre de chacun deviendra manifeste; le Jour, en effet, la fera connaître, car il doit serévéler dans le feu, et c'est ce feu qui éprouvera la qualité de l'oeuvre de chacun.	13 Every man's work shall be manifest; for the day of the Lord shall declare it, because it shall be revealed in fire; and the fire shall try every man's work, of what sort it is.
14 Si l'oeuvre bâtie sur le fondement subsiste, l'ouvrier recevra une récompense;	14 If any man's work abide, which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15 si son oeuvre est consumée, il en subira la perte; quant à lui, il sera sauvé, mais comme àtravers le feu.	15 If any man's work burn, he shall suffer loss; but he himself shall be saved, yet so as by fire.
16 Ne savez-vous pas que vous êtes un temple de Dieu, et que l'Esprit de Dieu habite en vous?	16 Know you not, that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you ?
17 Si quelqu'un détruit le temple de Dieu, celui-là, Dieu le détruira. Car le temple de Dieu estsacré, et ce temple, c'est vous.	17 But if any man violate the temple of God, him shall God destroy. For the temple of God is holy, which you are.
18 Que nul ne se dupe lui-même! Si quelqu'un parmi vous croit être sage à la façon de cemonde, qu'il se fasse fou pour devenir sage;	18 Let no man deceive himself: if any man among you seem to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
19 car la sagesse de ce monde est folie auprès de Dieu. Il est écrit en effet: Celui qui prend lessages à leur propre astuce;	19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written: I will catch the wise in their own craftiness.
20 et encore: Le Seigneur connaît les pensées des sages; il sait qu'elles sont vaines.	20 And again: The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.
21 Ainsi donc, que nul ne se glorifie dans les hommes; car tout est à vous,	21 Let no man therefore glory in men.
22 soit Paul, soit Apollos, sois Céphas, soit le monde, soit la vie, soit la mort, soit le présent,soit l'avenir. Tout est à vous;	22 For all things are yours, whether it be Paul, or Apollo, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to some; for all are yours;
23 mais vous êtes au Christ, et le Christ est à Dieu.	23 And you are Christ's; and Christ is God's.
