1 En ce jour-là, Jésus sortit de la maison et s'assit au bord de la mer.	1 The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side.
2 Et des foules nombreuses s'assemblèrent auprès de lui, si bien qu'il monta dans une barque ets'assit; et toute la foule se tenait sur le rivage.	2 And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.
3 Et il leur parla de beaucoup de choses en paraboles. Il disait: "Voici que le semeur est sorti poursemer.	3 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;
4 Et comme il semait, des grains sont tombés au bord du chemin, et les oiseaux sont venus toutmanger.	4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:
5 D'autres sont tombés sur les endroits rocheux où ils n'avaient pas beaucoup de terre, et aussitôt ilsont levé, parce qu'ils n'avaient pas de profondeur de terre;	5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:
6 mais une fois le soleil levé, ils ont été brûlés et, faute de racine, se sont desséchés.	6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.
7 D'autres sont tombés sur les épines, et les épines ont monté et les ont étouffés.	7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:
8 D'autres sont tombés sur la bonne terre et ont donné du fruit, l'un cent, l'autre 60, l'autre 30.	8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
9 Entende qui a des oreilles!"	9 Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
10 Les disciples s'approchant lui dirent: "Pourquoi leur parles-tu en paraboles" --	10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
11 "C'est que, répondit-il, à vous il a été donné de connaître les mystères du Royaume des Cieux,tandis qu'à ces gens-là cela n'a pas été donné.	11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
12 Car celui qui a, on lui donnera et il aura du surplus, mais celui qui n'a pas, même ce qu'il a luisera enlevé.	12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
13 C'est pour cela que je leur parle en paraboles: parce qu'ils voient sans voir et entendent sansentendre ni comprendre.	13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
14 Ainsi s'accomplit pour eux la prophétie d'Isaïe qui disait: Vous aurez beau entendre, vous necomprendrez pas; vous aurez beau regarder, vous ne verrez pas.	14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
15 C'est que l'esprit de ce peuple s'est épaissi: ils se sont bouché les oreilles, ils ont fermé les yeux,de peur que leurs yeux ne voient, que leurs oreilles n'entendent, que leur esprit ne comprenne, qu'ils ne seconvertissent, et que je ne les guérisse.	15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
16 "Quant à vous, heureux vos yeux parce qu'ils voient; heureuses vos oreilles parce qu'ellesentendent.	16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
17 En vérité je vous le dis, beaucoup de prophètes et de justes ont souhaité voir ce que vous voyezet ne l'ont pas vu, entendre ce que vous entendez et ne l'ont pas entendu!	17 For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
18 "Ecoutez donc, vous, la parabole du semeur.	18 Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.
19 Quelqu'un entend-il la Parole du Royaume sans la comprendre, arrive le Mauvais qui s'emparede ce qui a été semé dans le coeur de cet homme: tel est celui qui a été semé au bord du chemin.	19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
20 Celui qui a été semé sur les endroits rocheux, c'est l'homme qui, entendant la Parole, l'accueilleaussitôt avec joie;	20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;
21 mais il n'a pas de racine en lui-même, il est l'homme d'un moment: survienne une tribulation ouune persécution à cause de la Parole, aussitôt il succombe.	21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.
22 Celui qui a été semé dans les épines, c'est celui qui entend la Parole, mais le souci du monde etla séduction de la richesse étouffent cette Parole, qui demeure sans fruit.	22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
23 Et celui qui a été semé dans la bonne terre, c'est celui qui entend la Parole et la comprend: celui-là porte du fruit et produit tantôt cent, tantôt 60, tantôt 30."	23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
24 Il leur proposa une autre parabole: "Il en va du Royaume des Cieux comme d'un homme qui asemé du bon grain dans son champ.	24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:
25 Or, pendant que les gens dormaient, son ennemi est venu, il a semé à son tour de l'ivraie, aubeau milieu du blé, et il s'en est allé.	25 But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
26 Quand le blé est monté en herbe, puis en épis, alors l'ivraie est apparue aussi.	26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.
27 S'approchant, les serviteurs du propriétaire lui dirent: Maître, n'est-ce pas du bon grain que tu assemé dans ton champ? D'où vient donc qu'il s'y trouve de l'ivraie?	27 So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?
28 Il leur dit: C'est quelque ennemi qui a fait cela. Les serviteurs lui disent: Veux-tu donc que nousallions la ramasser?	28 He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?
29 Non, dit-il, vous risqueriez, en ramassant l'ivraie, d'arracher en même temps le blé.	29 But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.
30 Laissez l'un et l'autre croître ensemble jusqu'à la moisson; et au moment de la moisson je diraiaux moissonneurs: Ramassez d'abord l'ivraie et liez-la en bottes que l'on fera brûler; quant au blé, recueillez-ledans mon grenier."	30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.
31 Il leur proposa une autre parabole: "Le Royaume des Cieux est semblable à un grain de sénevéqu'un homme a pris et semé dans son champ.	31 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field:
32 C'est bien la plus petite de toutes les graines, mais, quand il a poussé, c'est la plus grande desplantes potagères, qui devient même un arbre, au point que les oiseaux du ciel viennent s'abriter dans sesbranches."	32 Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof.
33 Il leur dit une autre parabole: "Le Royaume des Cieux est semblable à du levain qu'une femme apris et enfoui dans trois mesures de farine, jusqu'à ce que le tout ait levé."	33 Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.
34 Tout cela, Jésus le dit aux foules en paraboles, et il ne leur disait rien sans parabole;	34 All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them:
35 pour que s'accomplît l'oracle du prophète: J'ouvrirai la bouche pour dire des paraboles, jeclamerai des choses cachées depuis la fondation du monde.	35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.
36 Alors, laissant les foules, il vint à la maison; et ses disciples s'approchant lui dirent: "Explique-nous la parabole de l'ivraie dans le champ."	36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.
37 En réponse il leur dit: "Celui qui sème le bon grain, c'est le Fils de l'homme;	37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;
38 le champ, c'est le monde; le bon grain, ce sont les sujets du Royaume; l'ivraie, ce sont les sujetsdu Mauvais;	38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
39 l'ennemi qui la sème, c'est le Diable; la moisson, c'est la fin du monde; et les moissonneurs, cesont les anges.	39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
40 De même donc qu'on enlève l'ivraie et qu'on la consume au feu, de même en sera-t-il à la fin dumonde:	40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.
41 le Fils de l'homme enverra ses anges, qui ramasseront de son Royaume tous les scandales et tousles fauteurs d'iniquité,	41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
42 et les jetteront dans la fournaise ardente: là seront les pleurs et les grincements de dents.	42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
43 Alors les justes resplendiront comme le soleil dans le Royaume de leur Père. Entende, qui a desoreilles!	43 Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
44 "Le Royaume des Cieux est semblable à un trésor qui était caché dans un champ et qu'unhomme vient à trouver: il le recache, s'en va ravi de joie vendre tout ce qu'il possède, et achète ce champ.	44 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.
45 "Le Royaume des Cieux est encore semblable à un négociant en quête de perles fines:	45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:
46 en ayant trouvé une de grand prix, il s'en est allé vendre tout ce qu'il possédait et il l'a achetée.	46 Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.
47 "Le Royaume des Cieux est encore semblable à un filet qu'on jette en mer et qui ramène toutessortes de choses.	47 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:
48 Quand il est plein, les pêcheurs le tirent sur le rivage, puis ils s'asseyent, recueillent dans despaniers ce qu'il y a de bon, et rejettent ce qui ne vaut rien.	48 Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.
49 Ainsi en sera-t-il à la fin du monde: les anges se présenteront et sépareront les méchants d'entreles justes	49 So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,
50 pour les jeter dans la fournaise ardente: là seront les pleurs et les grincements de dents.	50 And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
51 "Avez-vous compris tout cela" - "Oui", lui disent-ils.	51 Jesus saith unto them, Have ye understood all these things? They say unto him, Yea, Lord.
52 Et il leur dit: "Ainsi donc tout scribe devenu disciple du Royaume des Cieux est semblable à unpropriétaire qui tire de son trésor du neuf et du vieux."	52 Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.
53 Et il advint, quand Jésus eut achevé ces paraboles, qu'il partit de là;	53 And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these parables, he departed thence.
54 et s'étant rendu dans sa patrie, il enseignait les gens dans leur synagogue, de telle façon qu'ilsétaient frappés et disaient: "D'où lui viennent cette sagesse et ces miracles?	54 And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works?
55 Celui-là n'est-il pas le fils du charpentier? N'a-t-il pas pour mère la nommée Marie, et pourfrères Jacques, Joseph, Simon et Jude?	55 Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas?
56 Et ses soeurs ne sont-elles pas toutes chez nous? D'où lui vient donc tout cela?"	56 And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things?
57 Et ils étaient choqués à son sujet. Mais Jésus leur dit: "Un prophète n'est méprisé que dans sapatrie et dans sa maison."	57 And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house.
58 Et il ne fit pas là beaucoup de miracles, à cause de leur manque de foi.	58 And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
