1 Donc, frères bien-aimés que je voudrais revoir, vous, ma joie et ma couronne, restez fermes dans le Seigneur, mes bien-aimés.	1 So then, my brothers and dear friends whom I miss so much, my joy and my crown, hold firm in theLord, dear friends.
2 Je demande à Évodie et je demande à Syntiqué qu’elles travaillent ensemble dans le Seigneur.	2 I urge Euodia, and I urge Syntyche to come to agreement with each other in the Lord;
3 Et toi, cher compagnon, je te demande de leur faire bon accueil car avec moi elles ont travaillé dur pour l’Évangile, de même que Clément et mes autres collaborateurs dont les noms sont inscrits au Livre de Vie.	3 and I ask you, Syzygus, real y to be a 'partner' and help them. These women have struggled hard for thegospel with me, along with Clement and al my other fel ow-workers, whose names are written in the book of life.
4 Soyez joyeux dans le Seigneur. Je le répète: soyez joyeux en tout temps.	4 Always be joyful, then, in the Lord; I repeat, be joyful.
5 Que tous vous trouvent accueillants. Le Seigneur est proche.	5 Let your good sense be obvious to everybody. The Lord is near.
6 Que rien ne vous tienne préoccupés; exposez plutôt vos demandes à Dieu à tout moment dans la prière, et joignez l’action de grâces à la supplication.	6 Never worry about anything; but tel God all your desires of every kind in prayer and petition shotthrough with gratitude,
7 Alors la paix de Dieu que rien n’arrête viendra garder vos cœurs et vos esprits dans le Christ Jésus.	7 and the peace of God which is beyond our understanding wil guard your hearts and your thoughts inChrist Jesus.
8 À part cela, frères, arrêtez-vous à tout ce qui est vrai, ce qui est saint, ce qui est juste, ce qui est pur, ce qui est fraternel, ce qui est noble, et à toutes les valeurs morales qu’on peut admirer.	8 Finally, brothers, let your minds be fil ed with everything that is true, everything that is honourable,everything that is upright and pure, everything that we love and admire -- with whatever is good andpraiseworthy.
9 Faites ce qu’on vous a enseigné et que vous avez accueilli, ce que vous avez appris de moi et avez vu chez moi, et le Dieu de paix sera avec vous.	9 Keep doing everything you learnt from me and were told by me and have heard or seen me doing. Thenthe God of peace will be with you.
10 J’ai été très heureux dans le Seigneur en voyant refleurir votre préoccupation pour moi. Elle était toujours là, mais l’occasion vous manquait.	10 As for me, I am full of joy in the Lord, now that at last your consideration for me has blossomed again;though I recognise that you really did have consideration before, but had no opportunity to show it.
11 Ce n’est pas le besoin qui me fait parler car j’ai appris à me suffire,	11 I do not say this because I have lacked anything; I have learnt to manage with whatever I have.
12 je sais vivre avec rien et je sais vivre dans l’abondance. De mille manières je suis entraîné pour la faim comme pour la satiété, pour le manque et pour l’abondance;	12 I know how to live modestly, and I know how to live luxuriously too: in every way now I have masteredthe secret of al conditions: ful stomach and empty stomach, plenty and poverty.
13 je peux tout en celui qui me fortifie.	13 There is nothing I cannot do in the One who strengthens me.
14 Mais vous avez bien fait de prendre part à mes épreuves.	14 Al the same, it was good of you to share with me in my hardships.
15 Vous le savez, Philippiens, quand je suis parti de Macédoine, dans les débuts de l’Évangile, aucune Église ne m’a ouvert un compte d’avoirs et de dettes: il n’y a eu que vous.	15 In the early days of the gospel, as you of Philippi wel know, when I left Macedonia, no church otherthan yourselves made common account with me in the matter of expenditure and receipts. You were the onlyones;
16 Et quand j’étais à Thessalonique, par deux fois vous m’avez envoyé ce dont j’avais besoin.	16 and what is more, you have twice sent me what I needed in Thessalonica.
17 Ce n’est pas que je coure après vos dons; je désire plutôt que les intérêts s’accumulent sur votre compte.	17 It is not the gift that I value most; what I value is the interest that is mounting up in your account.
18 Mais de fait j’ai assez et plus qu’assez. Je suis dans l’abondance avec ce que j’ai reçu d’Épaphrodite de votre part. C’était là une offrande authentique, agréable à Dieu et dont le parfum monte jusqu’à lui.	18 I have al that I need and more: I am ful y provided, now that I have received from Epaphroditus theoffering that you sent, a pleasing smel , the sacrifice which is acceptable and pleasing to God.
19 Mon Dieu à son tour fera face à toutes vos nécessités selon la richesse de sa Gloire, dans le Christ Jésus.	19 And my God will fulfil al your needs out of the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
20 Gloire soit à Dieu notre Père pour les siècles des siècles! Amen.	20 And so glory be to God our Father, for ever and ever. Amen.
21 Mes saluts dans le Christ vont à tous les saints.	21 My greetings to every one of God's holy people in Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me sendyou their greetings.
22 Tous les frères qui sont avec moi vous saluent, spécialement ceux du palais de l’empereur.	22 Al God's holy people send you their greetings, especially those of Caesar's household.
23 Que la grâce du Christ Jésus, le Seigneur, soit toujours avec votre esprit.	23 May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
