Psalms 37

1 A Psalm of David, in commemoration of the Sabbath.	1 לדוד אל תתחר במרעים אל תקנא בעשי עולה
2 O Lord, do not rebuke me in your fury, nor chastise me in your wrath.	2 כי כחציר מהרה ימלו וכירק דשא יבולון
3 For your arrows have been driven into me, and your hand has been confirmed over me.	3 בטח ביהוה ועשה טוב שכן ארץ ורעה אמונה
4 There is no health in my flesh before the face of your wrath. There is no peace for my bones before the face of my sins.	4 והתענג על יהוה ויתן לך משאלת לבך
5 For my iniquities have walked over my head, and they have been like a heavy burden weighing upon me.	5 גול על יהוה דרכך ובטח עליו והוא יעשה
6 My sores have putrefied and been corrupted before the face of my foolishness.	6 והוציא כאור צדקך ומשפטך כצהרים
7 I have become miserable, and I have been bent down, even to the end. I have walked with contrition all day long.	7 דום ליהוה והתחולל לו אל תתחר במצליח דרכו באיש עשה מזמות
8 For my loins have been filled with illusions, and there is no health in my flesh.	8 הרף מאף ועזב חמה אל תתחר אך להרע
9 I have been afflicted and greatly humbled. I bellowed from the groaning of my heart.	9 כי מרעים יכרתון וקוי יהוה המה יירשו ארץ
10 O Lord, all my desire is before you, and my groaning before you has not been hidden.	10 ועוד מעט ואין רשע והתבוננת על מקומו ואיננו
11 My heart has been disturbed. My strength has abandoned me, and the light of my eyes has abandoned me, and it is not with me.	11 וענוים יירשו ארץ והתענגו על רב שלום
12 My friends and my neighbors have drawn near and stood against me. And those who were next to me stood far apart. And those who sought my soul used violence.	12 זמם רשע לצדיק וחרק עליו שניו
13 And those who sought evil accusations against me were speaking emptiness. And they practiced deceitfulness all day long.	13 אדני ישחק לו כי ראה כי יבא יומו
14 But, like someone deaf, I did not hear. And I was like someone mute, not opening his mouth.	14 חרב פתחו רשעים ודרכו קשתם להפיל עני ואביון לטבוח ישרי דרך
15 And I became like a man who does not hear, and who has no reproofs in his mouth.	15 חרבם תבוא בלבם וקשתותם תשברנה
16 For in you, Lord, I have hoped. You will listen to me, O Lord my God.	16 טוב מעט לצדיק מהמון רשעים רבים
17 For I said, “Lest at any time, my enemies might rejoice over me,” and, “While my feet are being shaken, they have spoken great things against me.”	17 כי זרועות רשעים תשברנה וסומך צדיקים יהוה
18 For I have been prepared for scourges, and my sorrow is ever before me.	18 יודע יהוה ימי תמימם ונחלתם לעולם תהיה
19 For I will announce my iniquity, and I will think about my sin.	19 לא יבשו בעת רעה ובימי רעבון ישבעו
20 But my enemies live, and they have been stronger than me. And those who have wrongfully hated me have been multiplied.	20 כי רשעים יאבדו ואיבי יהוה כיקר כרים כלו בעשן כלו
21 Those who render evil for good have dragged me down, because I followed goodness.	21 לוה רשע ולא ישלם וצדיק חונן ונותן
22 Do not forsake me, O Lord my God. Do not depart from me.	22 כי מברכיו יירשו ארץ ומקלליו יכרתו
23 Be attentive to my help, O Lord, the God of my salvation.	23 מיהוה מצעדי גבר כוננו ודרכו יחפץ
	24 כי יפל לא יוטל כי יהוה סומך ידו
	25 נער הייתי גם זקנתי ולא ראיתי צדיק נעזב וזרעו מבקש לחם
	26 כל היום חונן ומלוה וזרעו לברכה
	27 סור מרע ועשה טוב ושכן לעולם
	28 כי יהוה אהב משפט ולא יעזב את חסידיו לעולם נשמרו וזרע רשעים נכרת
	29 צדיקים יירשו ארץ וישכנו לעד עליה
	30 פי צדיק יהגה חכמה ולשונו תדבר משפט
	31 תורת אלהיו בלבו לא תמעד אשריו
	32 צופה רשע לצדיק ומבקש להמיתו
	33 יהוה לא יעזבנו בידו ולא ירשיענו בהשפטו
	34 קוה אל יהוה ושמר דרכו וירוממך לרשת ארץ בהכרת רשעים תראה
	35 ראיתי רשע עריץ ומתערה כאזרח רענן
	36 ויעבר והנה איננו ואבקשהו ולא נמצא
	37 שמר תם וראה ישר כי אחרית לאיש שלום
	38 ופשעים נשמדו יחדו אחרית רשעים נכרתה
	39 ותשועת צדיקים מיהוה מעוזם בעת צרה
	40 ויעזרם יהוה ויפלטם יפלטם מרשעים ויושיעם כי חסו בו
