1 Esta era la descendencia de Aarón y de Moisés, cuando el Señor habló a Moisés en el monte Sinaí.	1 These are the generations of Aaron and Moses in the day that the Lord spoke to Moses in mount Sinai.
2 Estos son los nombres de los hijos de Aarón: Nadab, el primogénito; Abihú, Eleazar e Itamar.	2 And these the names of the sons of Aaron: his firstborn Nadab, then Abiu, and Eleazar, and Ithamar.
3 Estos son los nombres de los hijos de Aarón, que fueron ungidos sacerdotes y cuyas manos fueron consagradas para ejercer el sacerdocio.	3 These the names of the sons of Aaron the priests that were anointed, and whose hands were filled and consecrated, to do the functions of priesthood.
4 Nadab y Abihú murieron en presencia del Señor, al ofrecer al Señor un fuego profano en el desierto del Sinaí. No tenían hijos, por lo que fueron Eleazar e Itamar los que ejercieron el sacerdocio en vida de su padre Aarón.	4 Now Nadab and Abiu died, without children, when they offered strange fire before the Lord, in the desert of Sinai: and Eleazar and Ithamar performed the priestly office in the presence of Aaron their father.
5 El Señor dijo a Moisés:	5 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
6 «Haz que se acerque la tribu de Leví y ponla al servicio del sacerdote Aarón.	6 Bring the tribe of Levi, and make them stand in the sight of Aaron the priest to minister to him, and let them watch,
7 Harán su propia guardia y la de toda la asamblea delante de la Tienda del Encuentro prestando el servicio del santuario.	7 And observe whatsoever appertaineth to the service of the multitude before the tabernacle of the testimony,
8 Guardarán todo el ajuar de la Tienda del Encuentro y harán la guardia en lugar de los hijos de Israel prestando el servicio del santuario.	8 And let them keep the vessels of the tabernacle, serving in the ministry thereof.
9 Aparta a los levitas de los demás hijos de Israel y dáselos a Aarón y a sus hijos como donados. Serán donados de parte de todos los hijos de Israel .	9 And thou shalt give the Levites for a gift,
10 A Aarón y a sus hijos les encomendarás que se encarguen del sacerdocio. Al extraño que se acerque, se le dará muerte».	10 To Aaron and to his sons, to whom they are delivered by the children of Israel. But thou shalt appoint Aaron and his sons over the service of priesthood. The stranger that approacheth to minister, shall be put to death.
11 El Señor dijo a Moisés:	11 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying :
12 «Yo he elegido a los levitas de entre los demás hijos de Israel en sustitución de todos los primogénitos o primeros partos de los hijos de Israel. Los levitas me pertenecen.	12 I have taken the Levites from the children of Israel, for every firstborn that openeth the womb among the children of Israel, and the Levites shall be mine.
13 Porque todo primogénito me pertenece. El día en que di muerte a todos los primogénitos de Egipto, me consagré todos los primogénitos de Israel, tanto de hombres como de ganado. Me pertenecen. Yo, el Señor».	13 For every firstborn is mine: since I struck the firstborn in the land of Egypt: I have sanctified to myself whatsoever is firstborn in Israel both of man and beast, they are mine: I am the Lord.
14 El Señor dijo a Moisés en el desierto del Sinaí:	14 And the Lord spoke to Moses in the desert of Sinai, saying:
15 «Haz el censo de los hijos de Leví, por familias y clanes, alistando a todo varón de un mes para arriba».	15 Number the sons of Levi by the houses of their fathers and their families, every male from one month and upward.
16 Moisés hizo el censo según la orden del Señor, tal como el Señor se lo había mandado.	16 Moses numbered them as the Lord had commanded.
17 Los nombres de los hijos de Leví son: Guersón, Queat y Merarí.	17 And there were found sons of Levi by their names, Gerson and Caath and Merari.
18 Los nombres de los guersonitas, por clanes: Libní y Semeí;	18 The sons of Gerson: Lebni and Semei.
19 de los queatitas, por clanes: Amrán, Yisar, Hebrón y Uciel;	19 The sons of Caath: Amram, and Jesaar, Hebron and Oziel:
20 de los meraritas, por clanes: Majlí y Musí. Esos son los clanes de Leví, por familias.	20 The sons of Merari: Moholi and Musi.
21 Clanes guersonitas: el clan libnita y el clan semeíta.	21 Of Gerson were two families, the Lebnites, and the Semeites:
22 El total de los censados, contando todos los varones de un mes para arriba: siete mil quinientos.	22 Of which were numbered, people of the male sex from one month and upward, seven thousand five hundred.
23 Los clanes guersonitas acampaban al poniente, detrás de la Morada.	23 These shall pitch behind the tabernacle on the west,
24 El jefe de la casa guersonita era Elyasaf, hijo de Lael.	24 Under their prince Eliasaph the son of Lael.
25 En la Tienda del Encuentro, los guersonitas se encargaban de guardar la Morada, la Tienda, su cortina y la cortina de entrada a la Tienda del Encuentro;	25 And their charge shall be in the tabernacle of the covenant:
26 el cortinaje del atrio y la cortina de entrada al atrio que rodea la Morada y el altar, y las cuerdas necesarias para todo su servicio.	26 The tabernacle itself and the cover thereof, the hanging that is drawn before the doors of the tabernacle of the covenant, and the curtains of the court: the hanging also that is hanged in the entry of the court of the tabernacle, and whatsoever belongeth to the rite of the altar, the cords of the tabernacle, and all the furniture thereof.
27 Clanes queatitas: el clan amramita, el clan yisarita, el clan hebronita y el clan ucielita.	27 Of the kindred of Caath come the families of the Amramites and Jesaarites and Hebronites and Ozielites. These are the families of the Caathites reckoned up by their names:
28 El total de censados, contando todos los varones de un mes para arriba: ocho mil trescientos. Tenían a su cargo el servicio del santuario.	28 All of the male sex from one month and upward, eight thousand six hundred: they shall have the guard of the sanctuary,
29 Los clanes queatitas acampaban al sur de la Morada.	29 And shall camp on the south side.
30 El jefe de la casa de los clanes queatitas era Elisafán, hijo de Uciel.	30 And their prince shall be Elisaphan the son of Oziel:
31 A su cargo estaban el Arca, la mesa, el candelabro, los altares, los objetos sagrados que se usan en el culto, el velo y todo su servicio.	31 And they shall keep the ark, and the table and the candlestick, the altars, and the vessels of the sanctuary, wherewith they minister, and the veil, and all the furniture of this kind.
32 El jefe de los jefes de Leví era Eleazar, hijo del sacerdote Aarón. Ejercía la supervisión de todos los encargados del santuario.	32 And the prince of the princes of the Levites, Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, shall be over them that watch for the guard of the sanctuary.
33 Clanes meraritas: el clan majlita y el clan musita.	33 And of Merari are the families of the Moholites, and Musites, reckoned up by their names :
34 El total de censados, contando todos los varones de un mes para arriba: seis mil doscientos.	34 All of the male kind from one month and upward, six thousand two hundred.
35 El jefe de la casa de los clanes meraritas era Suriel, hijo de Abijail. Acampaban al norte de la Morada.	35 Their prince Suriel the son of Abihaiel: they shall camp on the north side.
36 A los hijos de Merarí les estaba encomendado el cuidado de los tableros de la Morada, de sus travesaños, postes y basas, con todos sus accesorios y todo su servicio;	36 Under their custody shall be the boards of the tabernacle, and the bars, and the pillars and their sockets, and all things that pertain to this kind of service:
37 y de los postes que rodean el atrio, con sus basas, estacas y cuerdas.	37 And the pillars of the court round about with their sockets, and the pins with their cords.
38 Delante de la Morada, hacia oriente, delante de la Tienda del Encuentro, delante de la Morada, hacia la salida del sol, acampaban Moisés y Aarón con sus hijos, montando la guardia en el santuario en nombre de los hijos de Israel. Cualquier extraño que se acercara, sería hombre muerto.	38 Before the tabernacle of the covenant, that is to say on the east side, shall Moses and Aaron camp, with their sons, having the custody of the sanctuary, in the midst of the children of Israel. What stranger soever cometh unto it, shall be put to death.
39 Total de levitas censados por Moisés, según la orden del Señor, por clanes, todos los varones de un mes para arriba: veintidós mil.	39 All the Levites, that Moses and Aaron numbered according to the precept of the Lord, by their families, of the male kind from one month and upward, were twenty-two thousand.
40 El Señor dijo a Moisés: «Haz el censo de todos los primogénitos varones de los hijos de Israel, de un mes para arriba, y registra sus nombres.	40 And the Lord said to Moses: Number the firstborn of the male sex of the children of Israel, from one month and upward, and thou shalt take the sum of them.
41 Luego, apartarás para mí, ¡yo soy el Señor!, a los levitas, en sustitución de todos los primogénitos de los hijos de Israel; y el ganado de los levitas en sustitución de todos los primeros partos del ganado de los hijos de Israel».	41 And thou shalt take the Levites to me for all the firstborn of the children of Israel, I am the Lord: and their cattle for all the firstborn of the cattle of the children of Israel:
42 Moisés hizo el censo de todos los primogénitos de los hijos de Israel, según le había ordenado el Señor.	42 Moses reckoned up, as the Lord had commanded, the firstborn of the children of Israel:
43 Y el total de los primogénitos varones, contados desde un mes para arriba, resultó ser de veintidós mil doscientos setenta y tres.	43 And the males by their names, from one month and upward, were twenty-two thousand two hundred and seventy-three.
44 El Señor dijo a Moisés:	44 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saving:
45 «Aparta a los levitas en sustitución de todos los primogénitos de los hijos de Israel y el ganado de los levitas en sustitución de los primeros partos de su ganado. Los levitas serán míos. ¡Yo, el Señor!	45 Take the Levites for the firstborn of the children of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites for their cattle, and the Levites shall be mine. I am the Lord.
46 Por el rescate de los doscientos setenta y tres primogénitos de los hijos de Israel que superan el número de los levitas,	46 But for the price of the two hundred and seventy-three, of the firstborn of the children of Israel, that exceed the number of the Levites,
47 recauda unos sesenta gramos de plata por cabeza, en siclos del santuario, a razón de veinte óbolos por doce gramos de plata,	47 Thou shalt take five sides for every head, according to the weight of the sanctuary. A sicle hath twenty obols.
48 y entrega el dinero a Aarón y a sus hijos, como rescate de los que superan el número».	48 And then shalt give the money to Aaron and his sons, the price of them that are above.
49 Moisés tomó la plata del rescate de los que superaban el número de los rescatados por los levitas.	49 Moses therefore took the money of them that were above, and whom they had redeemed from the Levites,
50 La plata que recibió de los primogénitos de los hijos de Israel fue de unos dieciséis kilos de plata, en siclos del santuario.	50 For the firstborn of the children of Israel, one thousand three hundred and sixty-five sicles, according to the weight of the sanctuary,
51 Y entregó Moisés la plata del rescate a Aarón y a sus hijos, según las órdenes que el Señor había dado a Moisés.	51 And gave it to Aaron and his sons, according to the word that the Lord had commanded him.
