1 Después de Abimélek surgió para salvar a Israel Tolá, hijo de Puá, hijo de Dodó. Era de Isacar y habitaba en Samir, en la montaña de Efraím.	1 After Abimelech there rose to save Israel the Issacharite Tola, son of Puah, son of Dodo, a resident of Shamir in the mountain region of Ephraim.
2 Fue juez de Israel veintitrés años; murió y fue sepultado en Samir.	2 When he had judged Israel twenty-three years, he died and was buried in Shamir.
3 Tra él surgió Yaír, de Galaad, que fue juez de Israel veintidós años.	3 Jair the Gileadite came after him and judged Israel twenty-two years.
4 Tenía treinta hijos que montaban treinta pollinos y tenían treinta ciudades, que se llaman todavía hoy los Aduares de Yaír, en el país de Galaad.	4 He had thirty sons who rode on thirty saddle-asses and possessed thirty cities in the land of Gilead; these are called Havvoth-jair to the present day.
5 Murió Yaír, y fue sepultado en Camón.	5 Jair died and was buried in Kamon.
6 Los israelitas volvieron a hacer lo que desagradaba a Yahveh. Sirvieron a los Baales y a las Astartés, a los dioses de Aram y Sidón, a los dioses de Moab, a los de los ammonitas y de los filisteos. Abandonaron a Yahveh y ya no le servían.	6 The Israelites again offended the LORD, serving the Baals and Ashtaroths, the gods of Aram, the gods of Sidon, the gods of Moab, the gods of the Ammonites, and the gods of the Philistines. Since they had abandoned the LORD and would not serve him,
7 Entonces se encendió la cólera de Yahveh contra Israel y los entregó en manos de los filisteos y en manos de los ammonitas.	7 the LORD became angry with Israel and allowed them to fall into the power of (the Philistines and) the Ammonites.
8 Estos molestaron y oprimieron a los israelitas desde aquel año durante dieciocho años, a todos los israelitas que vivían en Transjordania, en el país amorreo de Galaad.	8 For eighteen years they afflicted and oppressed the Israelites in Bashan, and all the Israelites in the Amorite land beyond the Jordan in Gilead.
9 Los ammonitas pasaron el Jordán para atacar también a Judá, a Benjamín y a la casa de Efraím, e Israel pasó por grave aprieto.	9 The Ammonites also crossed the Jordan to fight against Judah, Benjamin, and the house of Ephraim, so that Israel was in great distress.
10 Los israelitas clamaron a Yahveh diciendo: «Hemos pecado contra tí, porque hemos abandonado a Yahveh nuestro Dios para servir a los Baales».	10 Then the Israelites cried out to the LORD, "We have sinned against you; we have forsaken our God and have served the Baals."
11 Y Yahveh dijo a los israelitas: «Cuando los egipcios, los amorreos, los ammonitas, los filisteos,	11 The LORD answered the Israelites: "Did not the Egyptians, the Amorites, the Ammonites, the Philistines,
12 los sidonios, Amalec y Madián os oprimían y clamasteis a mí ¿no os salvé de sus manos?	12 the Sidonians, the Amalekites, and the Midianites oppress you? Yet when you cried out to me, and I saved you from their grasp,
13 Pero vosotros me habéis abandonado y habéis servido a otros dioses. Por eso no he de salvaros otra vez.	13 you still forsook me and worshiped other gods. Therefore I will save you no more.
14 Id y gritad a los dioses que habéis elegido: que os salven ellos en el tiempo de vuestra angustia».	14 Go and cry out to the gods you have chosen; let them save you now that you are in distress."
15 Los israelitas respondieron a Yahveh: «Hemos pecado, haz con nosotros todo lo que te plazca; pero, por favor, sálvanos hoy».	15 But the Israelites said to the LORD, "We have sinned. Do to us whatever you please. Only save us this day."
16 Y retiraron de en medio de ellos a los dioses extranjeros y sirvieron a Yahveh. Y Yahveh no pudo soportar el sufrimiento de Israel.	16 And they cast out the foreign gods from their midst and served the LORD, so that he grieved over the misery of Israel.
17 Los ammonitas se concentraron y vinieron a acampar en Galaad. Los israelitas se reunieron y acamparon en Mispá.	17 The Ammonites had gathered for war and encamped in Gilead, while the Israelites assembled and encamped in Mizpah.
18 Entonces el pueblo, los jefes de Galaad, se dijeron unos a otros: «¿Quién será el hombre que emprenda el ataque contra los hijos de Ammón? El estará al frente de todos los habitantes de Galaad».	18 And among the people the princes of Gilead said to one another, "The one who begins the war against the Ammonites shall be leader of all the inhabitants of Gilead."
