Deuteronomio 30

BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Cuando te sucedan todas estas cosas, la bendición y la maldición que te he propuesto, si las meditas en tu corazón en medio de las naciones donde Yahveh tu Dios te haya arrojado,	1 'And when all these words have come true for you -- the blessing and the curse, which I have offeredyou -- if you meditate on them in your heart wherever among the nations Yahweh your God has driven you,
2 si vuelves a Yahveh tu Dios, si escuchas su voz en todo lo que yo te mando hoy, tú y tus hijos, con todo tu corazón y con toda tu alma,	2 if you return to Yahweh your God, if with al your heart and with all your soul you obey his voice, youand your children, in everything that I am laying down for you today,
3 Yahveh tu Dios cambiará tu suerte, tendrá piedad de ti, y te reunirá de nuevo de en medio de todos los pueblos a donde Yahveh tu Dios te haya dispersado.	3 then Yahweh your God wil bring back your captives, he will have pity on you and gather you backfrom al the peoples among whom Yahweh your God has scattered you.
4 Aunque tus desterrados estén en el extremo de los cielos, de allí mismo te recogerá Yahveh tu Dios y vendrá a buscarte;	4 Should you have been banished to the very sky's end, Yahweh your God will gather you again evenfrom there, wil come there to reclaim you
5 te llevará otra vez a la tierra poseída por tus padres, para que también tú la poseas, te hará feliz y te multiplicará más que a tus padres.	5 and bring you back to the country which belonged to your ancestors, so that you may possess it inyour turn, and be made prosperous there and more numerous than your ancestors.
6 Yahveh tu Dios circuncidará tu corazón y el corazón de tu descendencia, a fin de que ames a Yahveh tu Dios con todo tu corazón y con toda tu alma, para que vivas.	6 'Yahweh your God wil circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, so that you wil loveYahweh your God with all your heart and soul, and so wil live.
7 Yahveh tu Dios descargará todas sus imprecaciones sobre los enemigos y adversarios que te han perseguido.	7 Yahweh your God wil make al these curses recoil on your foes and on your enemies who havepersecuted you.
8 Tú volverás a escuchar la voz de Yahveh tu Dios y pondrás en práctica todos sus mandamientos que yo te prescribo hoy.	8 And once again you will obey the voice of Yahweh your God and you wil put all his commandmentsinto practice, which I am laying down for you today.
9 Yahveh tu Dios te hará prosperar en todas tus obras, en el fruto de tus entrañas, el fruto de tu ganado y el fruto de tu suelo. Porque de nuevo se complacerá Yahveh en tu felicidad, como se complacía en la felicidad de tus padres,	9 Yahweh your God wil make you prosper in al your labours, in the offspring of your body, in the yieldof your cattle and in the yield of your soil. For once again Yahweh will delight in your prosperity as he used totake delight in the prosperity of your ancestors,
10 si tú escuchas la voz de Yahveh tu Dios guardando sus mandamientos y sus preceptos, lo que está escrito en el libro de esta Ley, si te conviertes a Yahveh tu Dios con todo tu corazón y con toda tu alma.	10 if you obey the voice of Yahweh your God, by keeping his commandments and decrees written in thebook of this Law, and if you return to Yahweh your God with all your heart and soul.
11 Porque estos mandamientos que yo te prescribo hoy no son superiores a tus fuerzas, ni están fuera de tu alcance.	11 'For this Law which I am laying down for you today is neither obscure for you nor beyond your reach.
12 No están en el cielo, para que hayas de decir: «¿Quién subirá por nosotros al cielo a buscarlos para que los oigamos y los pongamos en práctica?»	12 It is not in heaven, so that you need to wonder, "Who wil go up to heaven for us and bring it down tous, so that we can hear and practise it?"
13 Ni están al otro lado del mar, para que hayas de decir: «¿Quién irá por nosotros al otro lado del mar a buscarlos para que los oigamos y los pongamos en práctica?»	13 Nor is it beyond the seas, so that you need to wonder, "Who will cross the seas for us and bring itback to us, so that we can hear and practise it?"
14 Sino que la palabra está bien cerca de ti, está en tu boca y en tu corazón para que la pongas en práctica.	14 No, the word is very near to you, it is in your mouth and in your heart for you to put into practice.
15 Mira, yo pongo hoy ante ti vida y felicidad, muerte y desgracia.	15 'Look, today I am offering you life and prosperity, death and disaster.
16 Si escuchas los mandamientos de Yahveh tu Dios que yo te prescribo hoy, si amas a Yahveh tu Dios, si sigues sus caminos y guardas sus mandamientos, preceptos y normas, vivirás y multiplicarás; Yahveh tu Dios te bendecirá en la tierra a la que vas a entrar para tomarla en posesión.	16 If you obey the commandments of Yahweh your God, which I am laying down for you today, if youlove Yahweh your God and fol ow his ways, if you keep his commandments, his laws and his customs, you willlive and grow numerous, and Yahweh your God wil bless you in the country which you are about to enter andmake your own.
17 Pero si tu corazón se desvía y no escuchas, si te dejas arrastrar a postrarte ante otros dioses y a darles culto,	17 But if your heart turns away, if you refuse to listen, if you let yourself be drawn into worshipping othergods and serving them,
18 yo os declaro hoy que pereceréis sin remedio y que no viviréis muchos días en el suelo que vas a tomar en posesión al pasar el Jordán.	18 I tel you today, you will most certainly perish; you will not live for long in the country which you arecrossing the Jordan to enter and possess.
19 Pongo hoy por testigos contra vosotros al cielo y a la tierra: te pongo delante vida o muerte, bendición o maldición. Escoge la vida, para que vivas, tú y tu descendencia,	19 Today, I call heaven and earth to witness against you: I am offering you life or death, blessing orcurse. Choose life, then, so that you and your descendants may live,
20 amando Yahveh tu Dios, escuchando su voz, viviendo unido a él; pues en eso está tu vida, así como la prolongación de tus días mientras habites en la tierra que Yahveh juró dar a tus padres Abraham, Isaac y Jacob.	20 in the love of Yahweh your God, obeying his voice, holding fast to him; for in this your life consists,and on this depends the length of time that you stay in the country which Yahweh swore to your ancestorsAbraham, Isaac and Jacob that he would give them.'
