Jeremías 52

BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Veintiún años tenía Sedecías cuando comenzó a reinar y reinó once años en Jerusalén; el nombre de su madre era Jamital, hija de Jeremías, de Libná.	1 Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he came to the throne, and he reigned for eleven years inJerusalem. His mother's name was Hamital daughter of Jeremiah, of Libnah.
2 Hizo el mal a los ojos de Yahveh, enteramente como había hecho Yoyaquim.	2 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh, just as Jehoiakim had done.

Zedekiah rebel ed against the king of Babylon.
4 En el año noveno de su reinado, en el mes decimo, el diez del mes, vino Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, con todo su ejército, contra Jerusalén, acampó contra ella, y la cercaron con una empalizada.	4 In the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, on the tenth day of the month, Nebuchadnezzar kingof Babylon advanced on Jerusalem with his entire army; he pitched camp in front of the city and threw upearthworks round it.
5 La ciudad estuvo sitiada hasta el año once del rey Sedecías.	5 The city lay under siege till the eleventh year of King Zedekiah.
6 El mes cuarto, el nueve del mes, cuando arreció el hambre en la ciudad y no había pan para la gente del pueblo,	6 In the fourth month, on the ninth day of the month, when famine was raging in the city and there was nofood for the populace,
7 se abrió una brecha en la ciudad y al verlo el rey y todos los guerreros, huyeron de la ciudad saliendo de noche, por el camino de la puerta que está entre los dos muros que dan al jardín del rey, mientras los caldeos estaban alrededor de la ciudad, y se fueron por el camino de la Arabá.	7 a breach was made in the city wal . The king and al the fighting men then fled, leaving the city undercover of dark, by way of the gate between the two wal s, which is near the king's garden -- the Chaldaeans hadsurrounded the city -- and made his way towards the Arabah.
8 Las tropas caldeas persiguieron al rey Sedecías y le dieron alcance en los llanos de Jericó; entonces todo el ejército se dispersó de su lado.	8 The Chaldaean troops pursued the king and caught up with Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho, where allhis troops deserted.
9 Capturaron al rey y lo subieron a Riblá, en la tierra de Jamat, donde el rey de Babilonia, que le sometió a juicio.	9 But the Chaldaeans captured the king and took him to the king of Babylon at Riblah in the territory ofHamath, where he passed sentence on him.
10 Los hijos de Sedecías fueron degollados a su vista, y lo mismo a todos los jefes de Judá degolló en Riblá.	10 He had Zedekiah's sons slaughtered before his eyes; he also had all the chief men of Judah put todeath at Riblah.
11 A Sedecías le sacó los ojos, lo encadenó con cadenas de bronce, y el rey de Babilonia lo llevó a Babilonia, donde lo tuvo en prisión hasta el día de su muerte.	11 He then put out Zedekiah's eyes and, loading him with chains, the king of Babylon carried him off toBabylon where he kept him prisoner until his dying day.

13 Incendió la Casa de Yahveh y la casa del rey y todas las casas de Jerusalén.	13 He burnt down the Temple of Yahweh, the royal palace and al the houses in Jerusalem.
14 Todas las tropas caldeas que había con el jefe de la guardia demolieron las murallas que rodeaban a Jerusalén.	14 The Chaldaean troops who accompanied the commander of the guard demolished al the wal ssurrounding Jerusalem.

17 Los caldeos rompieron las columnas de bronce que había en la Casa de Yahveh, las basas, el Mar de bronce de la Casa de Yahveh, y se llevaron todo el bronce a Babilonia.	17 The Chaldaeans broke up the bronze pil ars from the Temple of Yahweh, the wheeled stands and thebronze Sea, which were in the Temple of Yahweh, and took al the bronze away to Babylon.
18 Tomaron también los ceniceros, las paletas, los cuchillos, los acetres, las cucharas y todos los utensilios de bronce de que se servían.	18 They also took the ash containers, the scoops, the knives, the sprinkling bowls, the incense bowls,and all the bronze furnishings used in worship.
19 El jefe de la guardia tomó las vasijas, los incensarios y los aspersorios, los ceniceros, los candeleros, las cucharas y las tazas, cuanto había de oro y plata.	19 The commander of the guard also took the bowls, the censers, the sprinkling bowls, the ashcontainers, the lamp-stands, the goblets and the saucers: everything that was made of gold and everythingmade of silver.
20 Cuanto a las dos columnas, el Mar, los doce bueyes de bronce que estaban bajo el Mar y las basas que Salomón había hecho para la Casa de Yahveh, no se pudo calcular el peso de bronce de todos aquellos objetos.	20 As regards the two pil ars, the one Sea, the twelve bronze oxen supporting the Sea, and the wheeledstands, which King Solomon had made for the Temple of Yahweh, there was no reckoning the weight of bronzein all these objects.
21 La altura de una columna era de dieciocho codos, un hilo de doce codos medía su perímetro; su grosor era de cuatro dedos y hera hueca por dentro,	21 As regards the pil ars, the height of one pillar was eighteen cubits, its circumference was twelvecubits, it was four fingers thick, and hol ow inside;
22 y encima tenía un capitel de bronce; la altura del capitel era de cinco codos; había un trenzado y granadas en torno al capitel, todo de bronce. Lo mismo para la segunda columna.	22 on it stood a capital of bronze, the height of the capital being five cubits; round the capital were filigreeand pomegranates, al in bronze. So also for the second pil ar.
23 Había noventa y seis granadas que pendían a los lados. En total había cien granadas rodeando el trenzado.	23 There were ninety-six pomegranates round the sides, making a hundred pomegranates round thefiligree in al .

26 Nebuzaradán, jefe de la guardia, los tomó y los llevó a Riblá, donde el rey de Babilonia,	26 Nebuzaradan commander of the guard took these men and brought them to the king of Babylon atRiblah,
27 y el rey de Babilonia los hirió haciéndoles morir en Riblá, en el país de Jamat. Así fue deportado Judá, lejos de su tierra.	27 and at Riblah, in the territory of Hamath, the king of Babylon had them put to death. Thus Judah wasdeported from its country.

31 En el año treinta y seis de la deportación de Joaquín, rey de Judá, en el mes doce, el veinticinco del mes, Evil Merodak, rey de Babilonia, hizo gracia en el año en que comenzó a reinar, a Joaquín, rey de Judá, y lo sacó de la cárcel.	31 But in the thirty-seventh year of the exile of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on thetwenty-fifth day of the month, Evil-Merodach king of Babylon, in the year he came to the throne, pardonedJehoiachin king of Judah and released him from prison.
32 Le habló con benevolencia y le dio un asiento superior al asiento de los reyes que estaban con él en Babilonia.	32 He treated him kindly and allotted him a seat above those of the other kings who were with him inBabylon.
