Jeremías 46

BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Lo que fue dicho por Yahveh al profeta Jeremías sobre las naciones.	1 The words of Yahweh that were addressed to the prophet Jeremiah against the nations.
2 Para Egipto. Sobre el ejército del Faraón Nekó, rey de Egipto, que estuvo sobre el río Eufrates, en Karkemis, al cual batió Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, el año cuarto de Yoyaquim, hijo de Josías, rey de Judá.	2 On Egypt. 10 Aquel día será para el Señor Yahveh, día de venganza para vengarse de sus adversarios. Devorará la espada y se hartará y se abrevará de su sangre; pues será la matanza de Yahveh Sebaot en la tierra del norte, cabe el río Eufrates.	10 For this is the Day of Lord Yahweh Sabaoth, a day of vengeance when he takes revenge on his foes:the sword wil devour until gorged, until drunk with their blood, for Lord Yahweh Sabaoth is holding a sacrificialfeast in the land of the north, on the River Euphrates.
11 Sube a Galaad y recoge bálsamo, virgen, hija de Egipto; en vano menudeas las curas: alivio no hay para ti.	11 Go up to Gilead and fetch balm, virgin daughter of Egypt! You multiply remedies in vain, nothing cancure you!
12 Han oído las naciones tu deshonra, y tu alarido llenó la tierra, porque valiente contra valiente tropezaron, a una cayeron entrambos.	12 The nations have heard of your shame, your wailing fil s the world, for warrior has stumbled againstwarrior, and both have fal en together.
13 La palabra que habló Yahveh al profeta Jeremías acerca de la venida de Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, para atacar a Egipto.	13 The word that came from Yahweh to the prophet Jeremiah when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylonadvanced to attack Egypt.
14 Anunciad en Egipto y hacedlo oír en Migdol, y hacedlo en Nof y en Tafnis. Decid: Tente tieso y erguido, que ha devorado la espada tus contornos.	14 Publish it in Egypt, proclaim it in Migdol, proclaim it in Noph and Tahpanhes! Say, 'Stand your ground,be prepared, for the sword is devouring al round you!'

But afterwards, Egypt wil be inhabited again as in the past, Yahweh declares.
27 Pero tú no temas, siervo mío Jacob, ni desmayes, Israel, pues mira que yo acudo a salvarte desde lejos y a tu linaje del país de su cautiverio; volverá Jacob, se sosegará y estará tranquilo, y no habrá quien le inquiete.	27 But do not be afraid, my servant Jacob, Israel, do not be alarmed: for look, I shal rescue you fromafar and your descendants from the country where they are captive. Jacob wil return and be at peace, secure,with no one to trouble him.
28 Tú no temas, siervo mío Jacob, - oráculo de Yahveh - que contigo estoy yo, pues acabaré con todas las naciones adonde te empujé, pero contigo no acabaré; aunque sí te corregiré como conviene, ya que impune no te dejaré.	28 Do not be afraid, my servant Jacob, Yahweh declares, for I am with you: I shal make an end of al thenations where I have driven you, but I shal not make an end of you, I shal discipline you only as you deserve,not leaving you quite unpunished.
