1 La palabra de Yahveh me fue dirigida en estos términos:	1 This message came to me from the LORD:
2 No tomes mujer ni tengas hijos ni hijas en este lugar.	2 Do not marry any woman; you shall not have sons or daughters in this place,
3 Que así dice Yahveh de los hijos e hijas nacidos en este lugar, de sus madres que los dieron a luz y de sus padres que los engendraron en esta tierra:	3 for thus says the LORD concerning the sons and daughters who will be born in this place, the mothers who will give them birth, the fathers who will beget them in this land:
4 De muertes miserables morirán, sin que sean plañidos ni sepultados. Se volverán estiércol sobre la haz del suelo. Con espada y hambre serán acabados, y serán sus cadáveres pasto para las aves del cielo y las bestias de la tierra.	4 Of deadly disease they shall die. Unlamented and unburied they will lie like dung on the ground. Sword and famine will make an end of them, and their corpses will become food for the birds of the sky and the beasts of the field.
5 Sí, así dice Yahveh: No entres en casa de duelo, ni vayas a plañir, ni les consueles; pues he retirado mi paz de este pueblo - oráculo de Yahveh - la merced y la compasión.	5 Go not into a house of mourning, the LORD continued: go not there to lament or offer sympathy. For I have withdrawn my friendship from this people, says the LORD, my kindness and my pity.
6 Morirán grandes y chicos en esta tierra. No se les sepultará, ni nadie les plañirá, ni se arañarán ni se raparán por ellos,	6 They shall die, the great and the lowly, in this land, and shall go unburied and unlamented. No one will gash himself or shave his head for them.
7 ni se partirá el pan al que está de luto para consolarle por el muerto, ni le darán a beber la taza consolatoria por su padre o por su madre.	7 They will not break bread with the bereaved to console them in their bereavement; they will not give them the cup of consolation to drink over the death of father or mother.
8 Y en casa de convite tampoco entres a sentarte con ellos a comer y beber.	8 Enter not a house where people are celebrating, to sit with them eating and drinking.
9 Que así dice Yahveh Sebaot, el Dios de Israel: He aquí que voy a hacer desaparecer de este lugar, a vuestros propios ojos y en vuestros días, toda voz de gozo y alegría, la voz del novio y la voz de la novia.	9 For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Before your very eyes and during your lifetime I will silence from this place the cry of joy and the cry of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride.
10 Luego, cuando hayas comunicado a este pueblo todas estas palabras, y te digan: «¿Por qué ha pronunciado Yahveh contra nosotros toda esta gran desgracia? ¿cuál es nuestra culpa, y cuál nuestro pecado que hemos cometido contra Yahveh nuestro Dios?»,	10 When you proclaim all these words to this people and they ask you: "Why has the LORD pronounced all these great evils against us? What is our crime? What sin have we committed against the LORD, our God?"--
11 tú les dirás: «Es porque me dejaron vuestros padres - oráculo de Yahveh - y se fueron tras otros dioses y les sirvieron y adoraron, y a mí me dejaron, y mi Ley no guardaron.	11 you shall answer them: It is because your fathers have forsaken me, says the LORD, and followed strange gods, which they served and worshiped; but me they have forsaken, and my law they have not observed.
12 Y vosotros mismos habéis hecho peor que vuestros padres, pues he aquí que va cada uno en pos de la dureza de su mal corazón, sin escucharme.	12 And you have done worse than your fathers. Here you are, every one of you, walking in the hardness of his evil heart instead of listening to me.
13 Pero yo os echaré lejos de esta tierra, a otra que no habéis conocido vosotros ni vuestros padres, y serviréis allí a otros dioses día y noche, pues no os otorgaré perdón».	13 I will cast you out of this land into a land that neither you nor your fathers have known; there you can serve strange gods day and night, because I will not grant you my mercy.
14 En efecto, mirad que vienen días - oráculo de Yahveh - en que no se dirá más: «¡Por vida de Yahveh, que subió a los hijos de Israel de Egipto!»,	14 However, days will surely come, says the LORD, when it will no longer be said, "As the LORD lives, who brought the Israelites out of Egypt";
15 sino: «¡Por vida de Yahveh, que subió a los hijos de Israel del país del norte, y de todos los países a donde los arrojara!» Pues yo los devolveré a su solar, que di a sus padres.	15 but rather, "As the LORD lives, who brought the Israelites out of the land of the north and out of all the countries to which he had banished them." I will bring them back to the land which I gave their fathers.
16 He aquí que envío a muchos pescadores - oráculo de Yahveh - y los pescarán. Y luego de esto enviaré a muchos cazadores, y los cazarán de encima de cada monte y de cada cerro y de los resquicios de las peñas.	16 Look! I will send many fishermen, says the LORD, to catch them. After that, I will send many hunters to hunt them out from every mountain and hill and from the clefts of the rocks.
17 Porque mis ojos están puestos sobre todos sus caminos: no se me ocultan, ni se zafa su culpa de delante de mis ojos.	17 For my eyes are upon all their ways; they are not hidden from me, nor does their guilt escape my view.
18 Pagaré doblado por su culpa y su pecado, porque ellos execraron mi tierra con la carroña de sus Monstruos abominables, y de sus Abominaciones llenaron mi heredad.	18 I will at once repay them double for their crime and their sin of profaning my land with their detestable corpses of idols, and filling my heritage with their abominations.
19 ¡Oh Yahveh, mi fuerza y mi refuerzo, mi refugio en día de apuro! A ti las gentes vendrán de los confines de la tierra y dirán: ¡Luego Mentira recibieron de herencia nuestros padres, Vanidad y cosas sin provecho!	19 O LORD, my strength, my fortress, my refuge in the day of distress! To you will the nations come from the ends of the earth, and say, "Mere frauds are the heritage of our fathers, empty idols of no use."
20 ¿Es que va a hacerse el hombre dioses para sí? ¡aunque aquellos no son dioses!	20 Can man make for himself gods? These are not gods.
21 Por tanto, he aquí que yo les hago conocer - esta vez sí - mi mano y mi poderío, y sabrán que mi nombre es Yahveh.	21 Look, then: I will give them knowledge; this time I will leave them in no doubt Of my strength and my power: they shall know that my name is LORD.
