Isaías 6

BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 El año de la muerte del rey Ozías vi al Señor sentado en un trono excelso y elevado, y sus haldas llenaban el templo.	1 In the year of King Uzziah's death I saw the Lord seated on a high and lofty throne; his train fil ed thesanctuary.
2 Unos serafines se mantenían erguidos por encima de él; cada uno tenía seis alas: con un par se cubrían la faz, con otro par se cubrían los pies, y con el otro par aleteaban,	2 Above him stood seraphs, each one with six wings: two to cover its face, two to cover its feet and two forflying;
3 Y se gritaban el uno al otro: «Santo, santo, santo, Yahveh Sebaot: llena está toda la tierra de su gloria»..	3 and they were shouting these words to each other: Holy, holy, holy is Yahweh Sabaoth. His glory fil s thewhole earth.
4 Se conmovieron los quicios y los dinteles a la voz de los que clamaban, y la Casa se llenó de humo.	4 The door-posts shook at the sound of their shouting, and the Temple was ful of smoke.
5 Y dije: «¡Ay de mí, que estoy perdido, pues soy un hombre de labios impuros, y entre un pueblo de labios impuros habito: que al rey Yahveh Sebaot han visto mis ojos!»	5 Then I said: 'Woe is me! I am lost, for I am a man of unclean lips and I live among a people of uncleanlips, and my eyes have seen the King, Yahweh Sabaoth.'
6 Entonces voló hacia mí uno de los serafines con una brasa en la mano, que con las tenazas había tomado de sobre el altar,	6 Then one of the seraphs flew to me, holding in its hand a live coal which it had taken from the altar witha pair of tongs.
7 y tocó mi boca y dijo: «He aquí que esto ha tocado tus labios: se ha retirado tu culpa, tu pecado está expiado».	7 With this it touched my mouth and said: 'Look, this has touched your lips, your guilt has been removedand your sin forgiven.'
8 Y percibí la voz del Señor que decía: «¿A quién enviaré? ¿y quién irá de parte nuestra»? Dije: «Heme aquí: envíame».	8 I then heard the voice of the Lord saying: 'Whom shal I send? Who will go for us?' And I said, 'Here amI, send me.'
9 Dijo: «Ve y di a ese pueblo: “Escuchad bien, pero no entendáis, ved bien, pero no comprendáis.”	9 He said: 'Go, and say to this people, "Listen and listen, but never understand! Look and look, but neverperceive!"
10 Engorda el corazón de ese pueblo hazle duro de oídos, y pégale los ojos, no sea que vea con sus ojos. y oiga con sus oídos, y entienda con su corazón, y se convierta y se le cure».	10 Make this people's heart coarse, make their ears dul , shut their eyes tight, or they wil use their eyes tosee, use their ears to hear, use their heart to understand, and change their ways and be healed.'
11 Yo dije: «¿Hasta dónde, Señor?» Dijo: «Hasta que se vacíen las ciudades y queden sin habitantes, las casas sin hombres, la campiña desolada,	11 I then said, 'Until when, Lord?' He replied, 'Until towns are in ruins and deserted, houses untenantedand a great desolation reigns in the land,
12 y haya alejado Yahveh a las gentes, y cunda el abandono dentro del país.	12 and Yahweh has driven the people away and the country is total y abandoned.
13 Aun el décimo que quede en él volverá a ser devastado como la encina o el roble, en cuya tala queda un tocón: semilla santa será su tocón».	13 And suppose one-tenth of them are left in it, that wil be stripped again, like the terebinth, like the oak,cut back to the stock; their stock is a holy seed.'
