Isaías 54

BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Grita de júbilo, estéril que no das a luz, rompe en gritos de júbilo y alegría, la que no ha tenido los dolores; que más son los hijos de la abandonada, que los hijos de la casada, dice Yahveh.	1 Shout for joy, barren one who has borne no children! Break into cries and shouts of joy, you who werenever in labour! For the children of the forsaken one are more in number than the children of the wedded wife,says Yahweh.
2 Ensancha el espacio de tu tienda las cortinas extiende, no te detengas; alarga tus sogas, tus clavijas asegura;	2 Widen the space of your tent, extend the curtains of your home, do not hold back! Lengthen your ropes,make your tent-pegs firm,
3 porque a derecha e izquierda te expandirás, tu prole heredará naciones y ciudades desoladas poblarán.	3 for you wil burst out to right and to left, your race wil dispossess the nations and repopulate desertedtowns.
4 No temas, que no te avergonzarás, ni te sonrojes, que no quedarás confundida, pues la vergüenza de tu mocedad olvidarás, y la afrenta de tu viudez no recordarás jamás.	4 Do not fear, you wil not be put to shame again, do not worry, you will not be disgraced again; for youwil forget the shame of your youth and no longer remember the dishonour of your widowhood.
5 Porque tu esposo es tu Hacedor, Yahveh Sebaot es su nombre; y el que te rescata, el Santo de Israel, Dios de toda la tierra se llama.	5 For your Creator is your husband, Yahweh Sabaoth is his name, the Holy One of Israel is yourredeemer, he is cal ed God of the whole world.
6 Porque como a mujer abandonada y de contristado espíritu, te llamó Yahveh; y la mujer de la juventud ¿es repudiada? - dice tu Dios.	6 Yes, Yahweh has cal ed you back like a forsaken, grief-stricken wife, like the repudiated wife of hisyouth, says your God.
7 Por un breve instante te abandoné, pero con gran compasión te recogeré.	7 I did forsake you for a brief moment, but in great compassion I shal take you back.
8 En un arranque de furor te oculté mi rostro por un instante, pero con amor eterno te he compadecido - dice Yahveh tu Redentor.	8 In a flood of anger, for a moment I hid my face from you. But in everlasting love I have taken pity onyou, says Yahweh, your redeemer.
9 Será para mí como en tiempos de Noé: como juré que no pasarían las aguas de Noé más sobre la tierra, así he jurado que no me irritaré mas contra ti ni te amenazaré.	9 For me it wil be as in the days of Noah when I swore that Noah's waters should never flood the worldagain. So now I swear never to be angry with you and never to rebuke you again.
10 Porque los montes se correrán y las colinas se moverán, mas mi amor de tu lado no se apartará y mi alianza de paz no se moverá - dice Yahveh, que tiene compasión de ti.	10 For the mountains may go away and the hil s may totter, but my faithful love wil never leave you, mycovenant of peace will never totter, says Yahweh who takes pity on you.
11 Pobrecilla, azotada por los vientos, no consolada, mira que yo asiento en carbunclos tus piedras y voy a cimentarte con zafiros.	11 Unhappy creature, storm-tossed, unpitied, look, I shal lay your stones on agates and your foundationson sapphires.
12 Haré de rubí tus baluartes, tus puertas de piedras de cuarzo y todo tu término de piedras preciosas.	12 I shal make your battlements rubies, your gateways firestone and your entire wal precious stones.
13 Todos tus hijos serán discípulos de Yahveh, y será grande la dicha de tus hijos.	13 Al your children wil be taught by Yahweh and great wil be your children's prosperity.
14 En justicia serás consolidada. Manténte lejos de la opresión, pues ya no temerás, y del terror, pues no se acercará a ti.	14 In saving justice you will be made firm, free from oppression: you will have nothing to fear; free fromterror: it wil not approach you.
15 Si alguien te ataca, no será de parte mía; quienquiera que te ataque, contra ti se estrellará.	15 Should anyone attack you, that wil not be my doing, and whoever does attack you, for your sake willfal .
16 He aquí que yo he creado al herrero, que sopla en el fuego las brasas y saca los instrumentos para su trabajo.	16 I created the smith who blows on the charcoal-fire to produce a weapon for his use; I also created thedestroyer to ruin it.
17 Yo he creado al destructor para aniquilar. Ningún arma forjada contra ti tendrá éxito, e impugnarás a toda lengua que se levante a juicio contigo. Tal será la heredad de los siervos de Yahveh y las victorias que alcanzarán por mí - oráculo de Yahveh -.	17 No weapon forged against you wil succeed. Any voice raised against you in court you will refute.Such is the lot of the servants of Yahweh, the saving justice I assure them, declares Yahweh.
