1 Cuando Salomón acabó de orar, bajó fuego del cielo que devoró el holocausto y los sacrificios; y la gloria de Yahveh llenó la Casa.	1 When Solomon had ended his prayer, fire came down from heaven and consumed the holocaust and the sacrifices, and the glory of the LORD filled the house.
2 Los sacerdotes no podían entrar en la Casa de Yahveh, porque la gloria de Yahveh llenaba la Casa de Yahveh.	2 But the priests could not enter the house of the LORD, for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of the LORD.
3 Entonces todos los hijos de Israel, viendo descender el fuego y la gloria de Yahveh sobre la Casa, se postraron rostro en tierra sobre el pavimento y adoraron y alabaron a Yahveh «porque es bueno, porque es eterno su amor».	3 All the Israelites looked on while the fire came down and the glory of the LORD was upon the house, and they fell down upon the pavement with their faces to the earth and adored, praising the LORD, "for he is good, for his mercy endures forever."
4 Luego el rey y todo el pueblo ofrecieron sacrificios ante Yahveh.	4 The king and all the people were offering sacrifices before the LORD.
5 El rey Salomón ofreció en sacrificio 22.000 bueyes y 120.000 ovejas. Así inauguraron la Casa de Dios el rey y todo el pueblo.	5 King Solomon offered as sacrifice twenty-two thousand oxen, and one hundred twenty thousand sheep.
6 Los sacerdotes atendían a su ministerio, mientras los levitas glorificaban a Yahveh con los instrumentos que el rey David fabricó para acompañar los cánticos de Yahveh, «porque es eterno su amor», ejecutando los cánticos compuestos por David. Los sacerdotes estaban delante de ellos tocando las trompetas, y todo Israel se mantenía en pie.	6 Thus the king and all the people dedicated the house of God. The priests were standing at their stations, as were the Levites, with the musical instruments of the LORD which King David had made for "praising the LORD, for his mercy endures forever," when David used them to accompany the hymns. Across from them the priests blew the trumpets and all Israel stood.
7 Salomón consagró el interior del patio, que está delante de la Casa de Yahveh, pues ofreció allí los holocaustos y las grasas de los sacrificios de comunión, ya que el altar de bronce que había hecho Salomón no podía contener el holocausto, la oblación y las grasas.	7 Then Solomon consecrated the middle part of the court which lay before the house of the LORD; there he offered the holocausts and the fat of the peace offerings, since the bronze altar which Solomon had made could not hold the holocausts, the cereal offerings and the fat.
8 Entonces Salomón celebró la fiesta durante siete días y con él todo Israel, en magna asamblea, venida desde la Entrada de Jamat hasta el Torrente de Egipto.	8 On this occasion Solomon and with him all Israel, who had assembled in very large numbers from Labo of Hamath to the Wadi of Egypt, celebrated the festival for seven days.
9 El día octavo tuvo lugar la asamblea solemne, pues habían hecho la dedicación del altar por siete días, de manera que la fiesta duró siete días.	9 On the eighth day they held a special meeting, for they had celebrated the dedication of the altar for seven days and the feast for seven days.
10 El día veintitrés del mes séptimo, Salomón envió al pueblo a sus tiendas alegre y contento en su corazón por el bien que Yahveh había hecho a David, a Salomón y a su pueblo Israel.	10 On the twenty-third day of the seventh month he sent the people back to their tents, rejoicing and glad at heart at the good things the LORD had done for David, for Solomon, and for his people Israel.
11 Acabó Salomón la Casa de Yahveh y la casa del rey y llevó a cabo todo cuanto se había propuesto hacer en la Casa de Yahveh y en su propia casa.	11 Solomon completed the house of the LORD and the royal palace; he successfully accomplished everything he had planned to do in regard to the house of the LORD and his own house.
12 Aparecióse entonces Yahveh a Salomón por la noche y le dijo: «He oído tu oración, y me he elegido este lugar como Casa de sacrificio.	12 The LORD appeared to Solomon during the night and said to him: "I have heard your prayer, and I have chosen this place for my house of sacrifice.
13 Si yo cierro el cielo y no llueve, si yo mando a la langosta devorar la tierra, o envío la peste entre mi pueblo;	13 If I close heaven so that there is no rain, if I command the locust to devour the land, if I send pestilence among my people,
14 y mi pueblo, sobre el cual es invocado mi Nombre, se humilla, orando y buscando mi rostro, y se vuelven de sus malos caminos, yo les oiré desde los cielos, perdonaré su pecado y sanaré su tierra.	14 and if my people, upon whom my name has been pronounced, humble themselves and pray, and seek my presence and turn from their evil ways, I will hear them from heaven and pardon their sins and revive their land.
15 Mis ojos estarán abiertos, y mis oídos atentos a la oración que se haga en este lugar;	15 Now my eyes shall be open and my ears attentive to the prayer of this place.
16 pues ahora he escogido y santificado esta Casa, para que en ella permanezca mi Nombre por siempre. Allí estarán mis ojos y mi corazón todos los días.	16 And now I have chosen and consecrated this house that my name may be there forever; my eyes and my heart also shall be there always.
17 Y en cuanto a ti, si andas en mi presencia como anduvo tu padre David, haciendo todo lo que he mandado y guardando mis decretos y mis sentencias,	17 "As for you, if you live in my presence as your father David did, doing all that I have commanded you and keeping my statutes and ordinances,
18 afianzaré el trono de tu realeza como pacté con tu padre David diciendo: “No te faltará un hombre que domine en Israel.”	18 I will establish your royal throne as I covenanted with your father David when I said, 'There shall never be lacking someone of yours as ruler in Israel.'
19 Pero si os apartáis, abandonando los decretos y los mandamientos que os he dado, y vais a servir a otros dioses, postrándoos ante ellos,	19 But if you turn away and forsake my statutes and commands which I placed before you, if you proceed to venerate and worship strange gods,
20 os arrancaré de mi tierra que os he dado; arrojaré de mi presencia esta Casa que yo he consagrado a mi Nombre y la haré objeto de proverbio y de escarnio entre todos los pueblos.	20 then I will uproot the people from the land I gave them; I will cast from my sight this house which I have consecrated to my honor, and I will make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples.
21 Y esta Casa que es tan sublime vendrá a ser el espanto de todos los que pasen cerca de ella, de modo que dirán: “¿Por qué ha hecho así Yahveh a esta tierra y a esta Casa?”	21 This temple which is so exalted--everyone passing by it will be amazed and ask: 'Why has the LORD done this to this land and to this house?'
22 Y se responderá: “Porque abandonaron a Yahveh, el Dios de sus padres que los sacó de la tierra de Egipto, y han seguido a otros dioses, se han postrado ante ellos y les han servido; por eso ha hecho venir sobre ellos todo este mal.”»	22 And men will answer: 'They forsook the LORD, the God of their fathers, who brought them out of the land of Egypt, and they adopted strange gods and worshiped them and served them. That is why he has brought down upon them all this evil.'"
