1 David reunió en Jerusalén a todos los jefes de Israel, los jefes de las tribus, los jefes de las secciones que estaban al servicio del rey, los jefes de millar y los jefes de cien, los administradores de la hacienda y del ganado del rey y de sus hijos, a los eunucos, los valientes y todos los hombres de valor.	1 And so David called together all the leaders of Israel, the rulers of the tribes, and those in charge of the companies, who were ministering to the king, and also the tribunes and centurions, and those in charge of the substance and possessions of the king, and his sons, with the eunuchs and the powerful and those most experienced in the army, at Jerusalem.
2 Y, poniéndose en pie, dijo el rey David: «Oídme, hermanos míos y pueblo mío: Había decidido en mi corazón edificar una Casa donde descansasa el arca de la alianza de Yahveh y sirviese de escabel de los pies de nuestro Dios. Ya había hecho yo preparativos para la construcción,	2 And when the king had risen up and was standing, he said: “Listen to me, my brothers and my people. I thought that I would build a house, in which the ark of the covenant of the Lord, the footstool of our God, might rest. And so I prepared everything for its building.
3 pero Dios me dijo: “No edificarás tú la Casa a mi nombre, pues eres hombre de guerra y has derramado sangre.	3 But God said to me: ‘You shall not build a house to my name, because you are a man of war, and have shed blood.’
4 «Sin embargo, Yahveh, el Dios de Israel, me ha elegido de entre toda la casa de mi padre, para que fuese rey de Israel para siempre. Pues escogió a Judá para ser caudillo, y de las familias de Judá a la casa de mi padre, y de entre los hijos de mi padre se ha complacido en mí para establecer un rey sobre todo Israel.	4 Now the Lord God of Israel chose me, out of the entire house of my father, so that I would be king over Israel forever. For from Judah he chose leaders; then from the house of Judah he chose the house of my father; and from the sons of my father, it pleased him to choose me as king over all of Israel.
5 Y entre todos mis hijos - pues Yahveh me ha dado muchos hijos - eligió a mi hijo Salomón para que se siente en el trono del reino de Yahveh sobre Israel.	5 Then too, among my sons (for the Lord has given me many sons) he chose Solomon my son, so that he would sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the Lord, over Israel.
6 Y El me dijo: “Tú hijo Salomón edificará mi Casa y mis atrios; porque le he escogido a él por hijo mío, y yo seré para él padre.	6 And he said to me: ‘Solomon your son shall build my house and my courts. For I have chosen him to be to me as a son, and I will be to him as a father.
7 Haré estable su reino para siempre, si se mantiene firme en el cumplimiento de mis mandamientos y de mis normas como lo hace hoy.”	7 And I will make firm his kingdom, even unto eternity, if he will persevere in doing my precepts and judgments, as also today.’
8 «Ahora, pues, a los ojos de todo Israel, que es la asamblea de Yahveh, y a oídos de nuestro Dios, guardad y meditad todos los mandamientos de Yahveh vuestro Dios, para que podáis poseer esta tierra espléndida y la dejéis como heredad a vuestros hijos después de vosotros para siempre.	8 Now therefore, before the entire assembly of Israel, in the hearing of our God, keep and seek all the commandments of the Lord our God, so that you may possess the good land, and may bequeath it to your sons after you, even forever.
9 «Y tú, Salomón, hijo mío, reconoce al Dios de tu padre, y sírvele con corazón entero y con ánimo generoso, porque Yahveh sondea todos los corazones y penetra los pensamientos en todas sus formas. Si le buscas, se dejará encontrar; pero si le dejas, él te desechará para siempre.	9 And as for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve him with a perfect heart and a willing mind. For the Lord searches all hearts, and understands the thoughts of all minds. If you seek him, you will find him. But if you abandon him, he will cast you aside for eternity.
10 Mira ahora que Yahveh te ha elegido para edificar una Casa que sea su santuario. ¡Sé fuerte, y manos a la obra!»	10 Now therefore, since the Lord has chosen you, so that you would build the house of the Sanctuary, be strengthened and accomplish it.”
11 David dio a su hijo Salomón el diseño del vestíbulo y de los demás edificios, de los almacenes, de las salas altas, de las salas interiores y del lugar del Propiciatorio;	11 Then David gave to his son Solomon a description of the portico, and the temple, and the storerooms, and the upper floor, and the innermost rooms, and the house of propitiation,
12 y también el diseño de todo lo que tenía en su mente respecto de los atrios de la Casa de Yahveh, y de todas las camaras de alrededor, para los tesoros de la Casa de Dios y los tesoros de las cosas sagradas;	12 and indeed also of all the courts that he had planned, and the outer rooms on all sides, for the treasuries of the house of the Lord, and for the treasuries of the holy things,
13 asimismo respecto de las clases de los sacerdotes y de los levitas y del ejercicio del servicio de la Casa de Yahveh, como también de todos los utensilios del servicio de la Casa de Yahveh.	13 and for the divisions of the priests and the Levites: concerning all the works of the house of the Lord and all the items in the ministry of the temple of the Lord.
14 Cuanto al oro, el peso de oro para cada uno de los utensilios de cada servicio, y también la plata, según el peso que correspondía a cada uno de los utensilios de cada clase de servicio;	14 There was gold by weight for every vessel of the ministry, and also silver by weight for the diversity of vessels and equipment.
15 asimismo el peso de los candelabros de oro y sus lámparas de oro, según el peso de cada candelabro y de sus lámparas, y para los candelabros de plata según el peso de cada candelabro y sus lámparas, conforme al servicio de cada candelabro;	15 Then too, he distributed gold for the lampstands and their lamps, according to the measure of each of the lampstands with their lamps. Similarly also, he distributed silver by weight for the silver lampstands with their lamps, according to the diversity of their measure.
16 el peso de oro para las mesas de las filas de pan, para cada mesa, y la plata para las mesas de plata;	16 Also, he gave gold for the tables of the presence, according to the diversity of the tables; similarly too, he gave silver for the other tables of silver.
17 oro puro para los tenedores, los acetres y los jarros; y asimismo lo correspondiente para las copas de oro, según el peso de cada copa, y para las copas de plata según el peso de cada copa;	17 Also, he distributed from the purest gold for the small hooks and the bowls and the censors, as well as for the little lions of gold, in accord with the precise measure of the weight, for lion after lion. Similarly too, for the lions of silver, he set aside a different weight of silver.
18 para el altar del incienso, oro acrisolado según el peso; asimismo según el peso; asimismo el modelo de la carroza y de los querubines que extienden las alas y cubren el arca de la alianza de Yahveh.	18 Then, for the altar on which the incense was burned, he gave the purest gold. And from the same he made the likeness of the chariot of the Cherubim, with extended wings, which is veiling the ark of the covenant of the Lord.
19 Todo esto conforme a lo que Yahveh había escrito de su mano para hacer comprender todos los detalles del diseño.	19 “All these things,” he said, “came to me written by the hand of the Lord, so that I would understand all the works of the pattern.”
20 Y dijo David a su hijo Salomón: «¡Sé fuerte y ten buen ánimo; y manos a la obra! No temas ni desmayes, porque Yahveh Dios, el Dios mío, está contigo; no te dejará ni te desamparará, hasta que acabes toda la obra para el servicio de la Casa de Yahveh.	20 David also said to his son Solomon: “Act manfully, and be strengthened, and carry it out. You should not be afraid, and you should not be dismayed. For the Lord my God will be with you, and he will not send you away, nor will he abandon you, until you have perfected the entire work of the ministry of the house of the Lord.
21 Ahí tienes las clases de los sacerdotes y de los levitas para todo el servicio de la Casa de Dios; estarán a tu lado para cada clase de obra, todos los hombres de buena voluntad y hábiles para cualquier clase de servicio; y los jefes del pueblo entero están a tus órdenes».	21 Behold, the divisions of the priests and the Levites, for every ministry of the house of the Lord, are standing before you. And they have been prepared, and so they know, both the leaders and the people, how to carry out all your precepts.”
