Ezechiele 4

1 E tu, o figlio dell'uomo, prendi un mattone, ponitelo davanti, o disegnavi la città di Gerusalemme.	1 As for you, son of man, take a clay tablet; lay it in front of you, and draw on it a city (Jerusalem).
2 Disponi contro di lei un assedio, drizza le torri, alza le trincee, metti contro di essa gli accampamenti e metti all'intorno gli arieti.	2 Raise a siege against it: build a tower, lay out a ramp, pitch camps, and set up batteringrams all around.
3 Poi prendi una padella di ferro e mettila come un muro di ferro fra te e la città, e fisserai la tua faccia contro di lei, e sarà assediata, e tu la circonderai. Ciò è un segno per la casa d'Israele.	3 Then take an iron griddle and set it up as an iron wall between you and the city. Fix your gaze on it: it shall be in the state of siege, and you shall besiege it. This shall be a sign for the house of Israel.
4 E tu dormirai sul tuo lato sinistro, e metterai su esso l'iniquità della casa d'Israele, secondo il numero dei giorni che dormirai su tal lato, e prenderai su di te le loro iniquità.	4 Then you shall lie on your left side, while I place the sins of the house of Israel upon you. As many days as you lie thus, you shall bear their sins.
5 Or io t'ho dato il numero degli anni della loro iniquità col numero di trecento novanta giorni, e tu porterai l'iniquità della casa d'Israele.	5 For the years of their sins I allot you the same number of days, three hundred and ninety, during which you will bear the sins of the house of Israel.
6 E quando tu avrai fatto questo, dormirai sopra il tuo lato destro, e prenderai sopra di te l'iniquità della casa di Giuda per quaranta giorni, un giorno per anno, ti ho assegnato, dico, un giorno per anno.	6 When you finish this, you are to lie down again, but on your right side, and bear the sins of the house of Judah forty days; one day for each year I have allotted you.
7 E rivolgerai la tua faccia all'assediata Gerusalemme, e, steso il tuo braccio, profeterai contro di lei.	7 Fixing your gaze on the siege of Jerusalem, with bared arm you shall prophesy against it.
8 Ecco che io ti ho cinto di catene, e tu non potrai volgere da un lato all'altro, finché non avrai compiti i giorni del tuo assedio.	8 See, I will bind you with cords so that you cannot turn from one side to the other until you have completed the days of your siege.
9 Prendi del grano, orzo, fave, lenticchie, miglio e vecce, e metti queste cose in un vaso, e fanne per te dei pani secondo il numero dei giorni nei quali dormirai sul tuo fianco, e ne mangerai per trecento novanta giorni.	9 Again, take wheat and barley, and beans and lentils, and millet and spelt; put them in a single vessel and make bread out of them. Eat it for as many days as you lie upon your side, three hundred and ninety.
10 Quello che tu mangerai per tuo nutrimento sarà del peso di venti stateri per giorno, e lo mangerai di tempo in tempo.	10 The food you eat shall be twenty shekels a day by weight; each day the same.
11 Ed anche l'acqua la beverai a misura, la sesta parte di un hin, e la beverai di tempo in tempo.	11 And the water you drink shall be the sixth of a hin by measure; each day the same.
12 E (il pane) lo mangerai come quello d'orzo, cotto sotto la cenere, e sotto i loro occhi lo coprirai con escrementi umani ».	12 For your food you must bake barley loaves over human excrement in their sight, said the LORD.
13 E il Signore disse: « Così i figli d'Israele mangeranno il loro pane immondo tra le nazioni ove li caccerò ».	13 Thus the Israelites shall eat their food unclean among the nations where I scatter them.
14 E io dissi: « Ah! ah! ah! Signore Dio, ecco l'anima mia non è contaminata e dalla mia infanzia fino ad ora non ho mai mangiato animale morto da sè, o sbranato dalle fiere, e mai carne immonda è entrata nella mia bocca ».	14 "Oh no, Lord GOD!" I protested. "Never have I been made unclean, and from my youth till now, never have I eaten carrion flesh or that torn by wild beasts; never has any unclean meat entered my mouth."
15 Ed egli mi disse: « Ecco, invece d'escrementi umani, ti assegno sterco di bue, con questo farai (cuocere) il tuo pane».	15 Very well, he replied, I allow you cow's dung in place of human excrement; bake your bread on that.
16 E mi disse: «Figlio dell'uomo, ecco ch'io torrò a Gerusalemme il sostentamento del pane e mangeranno il pane a peso e nell'ansietà, e berranno l'acqua a misura e nell'angoscia;	16 Then he said to me: Son of man, I am breaking the staff of bread in Jerusalem. They shall eat bread which they have weighed out anxiously, and they shall drink water which they have measured out fearfully,
17 fino a che, mancato il pane e l'acqua, ognuno caschi addosso all'altro, e si consumino nella oro iniquità ».	17 so that, owing to the scarcity of bread and water, everyone shall be filled with terror and waste away because of his sins.
