Hebrews 1

1 In many and various ways God spoke of old to our fathers by the prophets,	1 Dio, che nel tempo antico aveva parlato ai padri nei profeti, in una successione e varietà di modi,
2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by a Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.	2 in questa fine dei tempi ha parlato a noi nel Figlio, che egli costituì sovrano padrone di tutte le cose e per mezzo del quale creò l'universo.
3 He reflects the glory of God and bears the very stamp of his nature, upholding the universe by his word of power. When he had made purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,	3 Questi, essendo l'irraggiamento della gloria e l'impronta della sua sostanza, e portando tutte le cose con la parola della sua potenza, dopo aver compiuto la purificazione dei peccati si è assiso alla destra della maestà nei luoghi eccelsi,
4 having become as much superior to angels as the name he has obtained is more excellent than theirs.	4 divenuto tanto superiore agli angeli, quanto più eccellente del loro è il nome che egli ha ricevuto in eredità.
5 For to what angel did God ever say, "Thou art my Son, today I have begotten thee"? Or again, "I will be to him a father, and he shall be to me a son"?	5 A quale angelo infatti disse mai Dio: Figlio mio sei tu, io oggi ti ho generato? E di nuovo: Io sarò per lui padre ed egli sarà per me figlio?
6 And again, when he brings the first-born into the world, he says, "Let all God's angels worship him."	6 Di nuovo, quando introduce il Primogenito nell'universo, dice: E lo adorino tutti gli angeli di Dio.
7 Of the angels he says, "Who makes his angels winds, and his servants flames of fire."	7 E mentre degli angeli dice: Fa i suoi angeli come venti e i suoi servi come fiamma di fuoco,
8 But of the Son he says, "Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever, the righteous scepter is the scepter of thy kingdom.	8 del Figlio invece: Il tuo trono, o Dio, è per i secoli dei secoli e lo scettro dell'equità è scettro del tuo regno.
9 Thou hast loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; therefore God, thy God, has anointed thee with the oil of gladness beyond thy comrades."	9 Hai amato la giustizia e hai odiato l'iniquità, perciò, o Dio, il tuo Dio ti ha unto con olio di esultanza a preferenza dei tuoi compagni.
10 And, "Thou, Lord, didst found the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are the work of thy hands;	10 E ancora: Tu, o Signore, alle origini hai fondato la terra e i cieli sono opere delle tue mani.
11 they will perish, but thou remainest; they will all grow old like a garment,	11 Essi periranno, tu invece rimani, e tutti invecchieranno come un vestito,
12 like a mantle thou wilt roll them up, and they will be changed. But thou art the same, and thy years will never end."	12 come mantello li arrotolerai, come una veste, e saranno messi da parte. Tu, invece, sei lo stesso e i tuoi anni non finiranno.
13 But to what angel has he ever said, "Sit at my right hand, till I make thy enemies a stool for thy feet"?	13 E di quale angelo disse mai: Siedi alla mia destra, fino a che non ponga i tuoi nemici come sgabello dei tuoi piedi?
14 Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to serve, for the sake of those who are to obtain salvation?	14 Non sono tutti spiriti servitori, mandati al servizio di quelli che erediteranno la salvezza?
