1 Therefore you have no excuse, O man, whoever you are, when you judge another; for in passing judgment upon him you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, are doing the very same things.	1 Por ello, tú que te eriges en juez, sea quien seas, no tienes excusa, pues, al juzgar a otro, a ti mismo te condenas, porque haces las mismas cosas, tú que juzgas.
2 We know that the judgment of God rightly falls upon those who do such things.	2 Sabemos que el juicio de Dios contra los que hacen estas cosas es según verdad.
3 Do you suppose, O man, that when you judge those who do such things and yet do them yourself, you will escape the judgment of God?	3 ¿Piensas acaso, tú que juzgas a los que hacen estas cosas pero actúas del mismo modo, que vas a escapar del juicio divino?
4 Or do you presume upon the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience? Do you not know that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?	4 ¿O es que desprecias el tesoro de su bondad, tolerancia y paciencia, al no reconocer que la bondad de Dios te lleva a la conversión?
5 But by your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God's righteous judgment will be revealed.	5 Con tu corazón duro e impenitente te estás acumulando cólera para el día de la ira, en que se revelará el justo juicio de Dios,
6 For he will render to every man according to his works:	6 el cual pagará a cada uno según sus obras:
7 to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life;	7 vida eterna a quienes, perseverando en el bien, buscan gloria, honor e incorrupción;
8 but for those who are factious and do not obey the truth, but obey wickedness, there will be wrath and fury.	8 ira y cólera a los porfiados que se rebelan contra la verdad y se rinden a la injusticia.
9 There will be tribulation and distress for every human being who does evil, the Jew first and also the Greek,	9 Tribulación y angustia sobre todo ser humano que haga el mal, primero sobre el judío, pero también sobre el griego;
10 but glory and honor and peace for every one who does good, the Jew first and also the Greek.	10 gloria, honor y paz para todo el que haga el bien, primero para el judío, pero también para el griego;
11 For God shows no partiality.	11 porque en Dios no hay acepción de personas.
12 All who have sinned without the law will also perish without the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law.	12 Cuantos pecaron sin tener ley, perecerán también sin ley; y cuantos pecaron en el ámbito de la ley serán juzgados por la ley.
13 For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified.	13 Pues no son justos ante Dios quienes oyen la ley, sino que serán justificados quienes la cumplen.
14 When Gentiles who have not the law do by nature what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law.	14 En efecto, cuando los gentiles, que no tienen ley, cumplen naturalmente las exigencias de la ley, ellos, aun sin tener ley, son para sí mismos ley.
15 They show that what the law requires is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness and their conflicting thoughts accuse or perhaps excuse them	15 Esos tales muestran que tienen escrita en sus corazones la exigencia de la ley; contando con el testimonio de la conciencia y con sus razonamientos internos contrapuestos, unas veces de condena y otras de alabanza,
16 on that day when, according to my gospel, God judges the secrets of men by Christ Jesus.	16 el día en que Dios juzgue lo oculto de los hombres de acuerdo con mi Evangelio a través de Cristo Jesús.
17 But if you call yourself a Jew and rely upon the law and boast of your relation to God	17 Pero si tú te llamas judío y encuentras tu descanso en la ley y te glorías en Dios;
18 and know his will and approve what is excellent, because you are instructed in the law,	18 conoces la voluntad divina y, al saberte instruido por la ley, te crees capaz de discernir lo que es mejor;
19 and if you are sure that you are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness,	19 te consideras guía de ciegos, luz de los que viven en las tinieblas,
20 a corrector of the foolish, a teacher of children, having in the law the embodiment of knowledge and truth--	20 educador de ignorantes, maestro de niños, pues piensas que tienes en la ley la expresión misma de la ciencia y de la verdad.
21 you then who teach others, will you not teach yourself? While you preach against stealing, do you steal?	21 Pues bien, tú que enseñas a otros, ¿no te enseñas a ti mismo?; tú que predicas no robar, ¿robas tú mismo?;
22 You who say that one must not commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples?	22 tú que dices: «No cometer adulterio», ¿cometes tú mismo adulterio?;
23 You who boast in the law, do you dishonor God by breaking the law?	23 tú, que te glorías en la ley, al transgredir la ley deshonras a Dios:
24 For, as it is written, "The name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you."	24 pues, según está escrito, el nombre de Dios es blasfemado por causa vuestra entre los gentiles.
25 Circumcision indeed is of value if you obey the law; but if you break the law, your circumcision becomes uncircumcision.	25 Pues la circuncisión aprovecha si cumples la ley; pero si eres un trasgresor de la ley, tu circuncisión vale para ti lo mismo que si no estuvieras circuncidado.
26 So, if a man who is uncircumcised keeps the precepts of the law, will not his uncircumcision be regarded as circumcision?	26 En definitiva, si los incircuncisos cumplen las justas exigencias de la ley, ¿no tendrá su condición de incircunciso el mismo valor que la circuncisión?
27 Then those who are physically uncircumcised but keep the law will condemn you who have the written code and circumcision but break the law.	27 Y así, alguien que no está circuncidado en la carne pero que cumple la ley te juzgará a ti, que, a pesar de poseer la letra de la ley y la circuncisión, eres trasgresor de la ley.
28 For he is not a real Jew who is one outwardly, nor is true circumcision something external and physical.	28 Pues no es judío el que lo es externamente ni es circuncisión la que lo es externamente, es decir, en la carne,
29 He is a Jew who is one inwardly, and real circumcision is a matter of the heart, spiritual and not literal. His praise is not from men but from God.	29 sino que es judío quien lo es en lo oculto, y la circuncisión del corazón lo es en el espíritu y no en la letra; este tal recibe la alabanza, no de los hombres sino de Dios.
