Psalms 96

1 O sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth!	1 Cantate al Signore un canto nuovo, cantate al Signore da tutta la terra.
2 Sing to the LORD, bless his name; tell of his salvation from day to day.	2 Cantate al Signore, benedite il suo nome, annunziate di giorno in giorno la sua salvezza.
3 Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples!	3 Narrate fra le genti la sua gloria, fra tutti i popoli le sue meraviglie.
4 For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above all gods.	4 Poiché grande è il Signore e degno d'ogni lode, tremendo al di sopra di tutti gli dèi.
5 For all the gods of the peoples are idols; but the LORD made the heavens.	5 Infatti, nullità sono tutti gli dèi dei popoli, invece il Signore ha fatto i cieli.
6 Honor and majesty are before him; strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.	6 Maestà e splendore camminano davanti a lui, potenza e decoro dimorano nel suo santuario.
7 Ascribe to the LORD, O families of the peoples, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength!	7 Tributate al Signore, famiglie dei popoli, tributate al Signore gloria e potenza,
8 Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; bring an offering, and come into his courts!	8 tributate al Signore la gloria del suo nome; prendete offerte ed entrate nei suoi atri.
9 Worship the LORD in holy array; tremble before him, all the earth!	9 Prostratevi al Signore alla sua santa apparizione. Tremi davanti a lui tutta la terra.
10 Say among the nations, "The LORD reigns! Yea, the world is established, it shall never be moved; he will judge the peoples with equity."	10 Proclamate fra i popoli: "Il Signore regna!". Sì, sta salda la terra, non vacillerà. Giudicherà i popoli con rettitudine.
11 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar, and all that fills it;	11 Gioiscano i cieli, esulti la terra, frema il mare con ciò che contiene;
12 let the field exult, and everything in it! Then shall all the trees of the wood sing for joy	12 si rallegri il campo con ciò che v'è in esso: sì, plaudano gli alberi della selva,
13 before the LORD, for he comes, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with his truth.	13 davanti al Signore che viene; sì, viene a giudicare la terra. Giudicherà il mondo con giustizia e i popoli con la sua fedeltà.
