| 1 To the choirmaster: with stringed instruments; according to The Sheminith. A Psalm of David. O LORD, rebuke me not in thy anger, nor chasten me in thy wrath. | 1 Magistro chori. Fidibus. Super octavam. Psalmus. David. |
| 2 Be gracious to me, O LORD, for I am languishing; O LORD, heal me, for my bones are troubled. | 2 Domine, ne in furore tuo arguas me neque in ira tua corripias me. |
| 3 My soul also is sorely troubled. But thou, O LORD--how long? | 3 Miserere mei, Domine, quoniam infirmus sum; sana me, Domine, quoniam conturbata sunt ossa mea. |
| 4 Turn, O LORD, save my life; deliver me for the sake of thy steadfast love. | 4 Et anima mea turbata est valde, sed tu, Domine, usquequo? |
| 5 For in death there is no remembrance of thee; in Sheol who can give thee praise? | 5 Convertere, Domine, eripe animam meam; salvum me fac propter misericordiam tuam. |
| 6 I am weary with my moaning; every night I flood my bed with tears; I drench my couch with my weeping. | 6 Quoniam non est in morte, qui memor sit tui; in inferno autem quis confitebitur tibi? |
| 7 My eye wastes away because of grief, it grows weak because of all my foes. | 7 Laboravi in gemitu meo, lavabam per singulas noctes lectum meum; lacrimis meis stratum meum rigabam. |
| 8 Depart from me, all you workers of evil; for the LORD has heard the sound of my weeping. | 8 Turbatus est a maerore oculus meus, inveteravi inter omnes inimicos meos. |
| 9 The LORD has heard my supplication; the LORD accepts my prayer. | 9 Discedite a me, omnes, qui operamini iniquitatem, quoniam exaudivit Dominus vocem fletus mei. |
| 10 All my enemies shall be ashamed and sorely troubled; they shall turn back, and be put to shame in a moment. | 10 Exaudivit Dominus deprecationem meam, Dominus orationem meam suscepit. |
| 11 Erubescant et conturbentur vehementer omnes inimici mei; convertantur et erubescant valde velociter. |
