Psalms 34

1 A Psalm of David, when he feigned madness before Abimelech, so that he drove him out, and he went away. I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth.	1 (In fine) salmo di David. Giudica, Signore, i miei nocenti; sconfiggi i combattenti contra di me.
2 My soul makes its boast in the LORD; let the afflicted hear and be glad.	2 Prendi l'arme e il scuto; e lèvati in mio aiuto.
3 O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together!	3 Moltiplica la vendetta con la spada, e concludi contra quelli che mi persèguitano; di' all' anima mia: io son la tua salute.
4 I sought the LORD, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.	4 Siano confusi e temano le pene i chiedenti l'anima mia. Ritorninsi a drieto e siano confusi quelli che a me pensano i mali.
5 Look to him, and be radiant; so your faces shall never be ashamed.	5 Siano fatti come polvere dinanzi alla faccia del vento; e l' ångelo del Signore affligga quelli.
6 This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.	6 Siano fatte loro vie, tenebre e discorrenti e l'angelo del Signore perseguente quelli.
7 The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.	7 Per che senza cagione puoseno [a] me la morte del lacciuolo; e hanno accusato disutilmente l'anima mia.
8 O taste and see that the LORD is good! Happy is the man who takes refuge in him!	8 A lui venga il laccio che non sa; e l' ingegno che ha nascosto pigli quello, e cada in quello medesimo lacciuolo.
9 O fear the LORD, you his saints, for those who fear him have no want!	9 Rallegrerassi l'anima mia nel Signore; e diletterassi sopra la sua salute.
10 The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.	10 Tutte le mie ossa diranno: Signore, chi è simile a te? Liberante il misero dalla mano de' suoi forti, il bisognoso e povero dalli suoi dissipanti.
11 Come, O sons, listen to me, I will teach you the fear of the LORD.	11 Levandosi i testimoni iniqui, domandàvammi quello che non sapeva.
12 What man is there who desires life, and covets many days, that he may enjoy good?	12 A me rendevano i mali per i beni; la sterilità all' anima mia.
13 Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking deceit.	13 Ma io, a me essendo molesti, vestivami il cilicio. Nel digiuno umiliava l'anima mia; e la mia orazione (al presente) convertirassi nel mio petto.
14 Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.	14 Compiacevali come prossimo e nostro fratello; umiliavami come piangente e contristato.
15 The eyes of the LORD are toward the righteous, and his ears toward their cry.	15 E rallegraronsi e congregoronsi contra di me; sopra di me furono congregati i flagelli, e nol seppi.
16 The face of the LORD is against evildoers, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.	16 Dissipati sono, e non compunti; hannomi tentato, e schernuto di scherni; strinsero loro denti sopra di me.
17 When the righteous cry for help, the LORD hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.	17 Signore, quando risguarderai? [Dal] la loro malignità restitui l'anima mia, dalli leoni l'unica mia.
18 The LORD is near to the brokenhearted, and saves the crushed in spirit.	18 Confesserò a te nella chiesa grande; lauderò te nel maturo popolo.
19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous; but the LORD delivers him out of them all.	19 Sopra di me non si allegrino gli miei avversarii iniquamente; che mi hanno odiato e cignato con l'occhio.
20 He keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken.	20 Imperò [che] certo mi parlavano pacificamente; e parlando nella iracundia della terra, pensavano gl' inganni.
21 Evil shall slay the wicked; and those who hate the righteous will be condemned.	21 E sopra di me apersero la sua bocca; dissero ormai hanno veduti gli occhi nostri.
22 The LORD redeems the life of his servants; none of those who take refuge in him will be condemned.	22 Hai veduto, Signore; non tacere; Signore, non ti partire da me.
	23 Lèvati, e attendi al mio giudicio, Iddio mio, e Signore mio, nella mia causa.
	24 Giudica me, Signore Iddio mio, secondo la tua giustizia; per che non si allegrino sopra di me.
	25 E nel loro cuore non dicano: rallegriamoci dell' anima nostra; e non dicano: divoraremo quello.
	26 Vergogninsi, e temano insieme, gli allegranti sopra' miei mali. Siano vestiti di confusione e di vergogna coloro che parlano sopra di me le cose maligne.
	27 Rallegrinsi e faccino festa coloro che vogliono la mia giustizia; e dicano sempre: sia ma gnificato il Signore, [coloro] che vogliono pace al suo servo.
	28 E la mia lingua penserà la tua giustizia, tutto lo giorno la tua laude.
