Exodus 23

1 "You shall not utter a false report. You shall not join hands with a wicked man, to be a malicious witness.	1 Non solleverai falsi rumori; non metterai la tua mano con il cattivo, per essere un testimone perverso.
2 You shall not follow a multitude to do evil; nor shall you bear witness in a suit, turning aside after a multitude, so as to pervert justice;	2 Non seguirai i molti nel male e non deporrai in una contesa giudiziaria deviando per pendere verso i molti,
3 nor shall you be partial to a poor man in his suit.	3 non favorirai il debole nel suo processo.
4 "If you meet your enemy's ox or his ass going astray, you shall bring it back to him.	4 Se incontrerai un bue del tuo nemico o un suo asino disperso, glielo riporterai.
5 If you see the ass of one who hates you lying under its burden, you shall refrain from leaving him with it, you shall help him to lift it up.	5 Se vedrai un asino di chi ti odia giacere sotto il suo peso, astieniti dall'abbandonarlo: lo slegherai con lui.
6 "You shall not pervert the justice due to your poor in his suit.	6 Non farai deviare il giudizio del tuo povero nel suo processo.
7 Keep far from a false charge, and do not slay the innocent and righteous, for I will not acquit the wicked.	7 Starai lontano da parola falsa. Non ucciderai l'innocente e il giusto, perché non dichiaro giusto il colpevole.
8 And you shall take no bribe, for a bribe blinds the officials, and subverts the cause of those who are in the right.	8 Non prenderai regali, perché il regalo acceca chi vede chiaro e perverte le parole dei giusti.
9 "You shall not oppress a stranger; you know the heart of a stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.	9 Non opprimerai lo straniero: voi conoscete la vita dello straniero, perché foste stranieri in terra d'Egitto.
10 "For six years you shall sow your land and gather in its yield;	10 Per sei anni seminerai la tua terra e raccoglierai il suo prodotto,
11 but the seventh year you shall let it rest and lie fallow, that the poor of your people may eat; and what they leave the wild beasts may eat. You shall do likewise with your vineyard, and with your olive orchard.	11 ma al settimo non la coltiverai e la lascerai riposare: mangeranno i poveri del tuo popolo e le bestie selvatiche mangeranno ciò che resta; così farai alla tua vigna e al tuo olivo.
12 "Six days you shall do your work, but on the seventh day you shall rest; that your ox and your ass may have rest, and the son of your bondmaid, and the alien, may be refreshed.	12 Per sei giorni farai il tuo lavoro, ma il settimo giorno smetterai, perché riposi il tuo bue e il tuo asino, e prenda fiato il figlio della tua serva e lo straniero.
13 Take heed to all that I have said to you; and make no mention of the names of other gods, nor let such be heard out of your mouth.	13 Osserverete tutto quello che vi ho detto. Non farete menzione del nome di altri dèi: non si senta sulla tua bocca.
14 "Three times in the year you shall keep a feast to me.	14 Per tre volte all'anno mi festeggerai.
15 You shall keep the feast of unleavened bread; as I commanded you, you shall eat unleavened bread for seven days at the appointed time in the month of Abib, for in it you came out of Egypt. None shall appear before me empty-handed.	15 Osserverai la festa degli Azzimi: per sette giorni mangerai azzimi, come ti ho ordinato, nella data fissata del mese di Abib, perché in quello sei uscito dall'Egitto. Nessuno si presenti davanti a me a mani vuote.
16 You shall keep the feast of harvest, of the first fruits of your labor, of what you sow in the field. You shall keep the feast of ingathering at the end of the year, when you gather in from the field the fruit of your labor.	16 Osserverai la festa della mietitura, le primizie dei tuoi lavori, di quello che semini nel campo; la festa del raccolto, al termine dell'anno, quando raccoglierai i frutti dei tuoi lavori dal campo.
17 Three times in the year shall all your males appear before the Lord GOD.	17 Tre volte all'anno ogni tuo maschio si presenterà davanti al Signore Dio.
18 "You shall not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leavened bread, or let the fat of my feast remain until the morning.	18 Non sacrificherai sangue del mio sacrificio sul lievitato, e il grasso della vittima per la mia festa non passerà la notte fino al mattino.
19 "The first of the first fruits of your ground you shall bring into the house of the LORD your God. "You shall not boil a kid in its mother's milk.	19 Porterai alla casa del Signore, tuo Dio, il meglio delle primizie del tuo suolo. Non cuocerai un capretto nel latte di sua madre.
20 "Behold, I send an angel before you, to guard you on the way and to bring you to the place which I have prepared.	20 Ecco, io mando un angelo davanti a te, per vegliare su di te nel cammino e farti entrare nel luogo che ho preparato.
21 Give heed to him and hearken to his voice, do not rebel against him, for he will not pardon your transgression; for my name is in him.	21 Sii attento davanti a lui, ascolta la sua voce, non ribellarti a lui, perché non sopporterà la vostra trasgressione, poiché il mio nome è in lui.
22 "But if you hearken attentively to his voice and do all that I say, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries.	22 Se tu ascolti la sua voce e farai tutto quello che dirò, sarò nemico dei tuoi nemici e avversario dei tuoi avversari:
23 "When my angel goes before you, and brings you in to the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, and I blot them out,	23 poiché il mio angelo andrà davanti a te e ti porterà dall'Amorreo, dall'Hittita, dal Perizzita, dal Cananeo, dall'Eveo, dal Gebuseo, e lo sterminerò.
24 you shall not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do according to their works, but you shall utterly overthrow them and break their pillars in pieces.	24 Non ti prostrerai ai loro dèi, non li servirai e non farai secondo le loro opere, ma demolirai e spezzerai le loro stele.
25 You shall serve the LORD your God, and I will bless your bread and your water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of you.	25 Servirete il Signore, vostro Dio: egli benedirà il tuo pane e la tua acqua e allontanerà la malattia da te.
26 None shall cast her young or be barren in your land; I will fulfil the number of your days.	26 Non ci sarà nella tua terra donna che abortisce o sterile. Colmerò il numero dei tuoi giorni.
27 I will send my terror before you, and will throw into confusion all the people against whom you shall come, and I will make all your enemies turn their backs to you.	27 Manderò il mio terrore davanti a te e metterò alla deriva tutti i popoli presso i quali andrai e ti consegnerò il dorso di tutti i tuoi nemici.
28 And I will send hornets before you, which shall drive out Hivite, Canaanite, and Hittite from before you.	28 Manderò davanti a te il calabrone, e caccerà l'Eveo, il Cananeo, l'Hittita davanti a te.
29 I will not drive them out from before you in one year, lest the land become desolate and the wild beasts multiply against you.	29 Non lo caccerò davanti a te in un anno solo, perché la terra non diventi desolata e si moltiplichino contro di te le bestie selvagge;
30 Little by little I will drive them out from before you, until you are increased and possess the land.	30 a poco a poco li caccerò davanti a te, fino a quando tu abbia fruttificato ed ereditato la terra.
31 And I will set your bounds from the Red Sea to the sea of the Philistines, and from the wilderness to the Euphrates; for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand, and you shall drive them out before you.	31 Fisserò i tuoi confini dal Mar Rosso fino al mare dei Filistei, e dal deserto al fiume, perché darò nelle tue mani gli abitanti della terra e li caccerai dalla tua faccia.
32 You shall make no covenant with them or with their gods.	32 Non farai alleanza con loro e con i loro dèi,
33 They shall not dwell in your land, lest they make you sin against me; for if you serve their gods, it will surely be a snare to you."	33 non abiteranno nella tua terra, perché non ti facciano peccare contro di me, se servissi ai loro dèi: poiché sarebbe per te una trappola".
