Nehemiah 12

1 These are the priests and the Levites who came up with Zerubbabel the son of She-alti-el, and Jeshua: Seraiah, Jeremiah, Ezra,	1 Estos son los sacerdotes y levitas que regresaron con Zorobabel, hijo de Sealtiel, y con Josué: Seraías, Jeremías, Esdras,
2 Amariah, Malluch, Hattush,	2 Amarías, Maluc, Jatús,

4 Iddo, Ginnethoi, Abijah,	4 Idó, Guinetón, Abías,
5 Mijamin, Ma-adiah, Bilgah,	5 Miyamín, Mazías, Bilgá,
6 Shemaiah, Joiarib, Jedaiah,	6 Semaías, Yoyarib, Yedaías,
7 Sallu, Amok, Hilkiah, Jedaiah. These were the chiefs of the priests and of their brethren in the days of Jeshua.	7 Salú, Amoc, Jelcías, Yedaías. Estos eran los jefes de los sacerdotes y de sus hermanos en tiempos de Josué.
8 And the Levites: Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmi-el, Sherebiah, Judah, and Mattaniah, who with his brethren was in charge of the songs of thanksgiving.	8 De los levitas: Josué, Binuy, Cadmiel, Serebías, Judá y Matanías, el que dirigía los himnos con sus hermanos,
9 And Bakbukiah and Unno their brethren stood opposite them in the service.	9 mientras que Bacbuquías y Uní, hermanos suyos, se alternaban con ellos, según sus clases respectivas.
10 And Jeshua was the father of Joiakim, Joiakim the father of Eliashib, Eliashib the father of Joiada,	10 Josué engendró a Joaquín, Joaquín engendró a Eliasib, Eliasib engendró a Yoyadá,
11 Joiada the father of Jonathan, and Jonathan the father of Jaddu-a.	11 Yoyadá engendró a Yojanán y Yojanán engendró a Yadúa.
12 And in the days of Joiakim were priests, heads of fathers' houses: of Seraiah, Meraiah; of Jeremiah, Hananiah;	12 En tiempos de Joaquín, los cabezas de las familias sacerdotales eran: de la de Seraías, Meraías; de la de Jeremías, Jananías;
13 of Ezra, Meshullam; of Amariah, Jehohanan;	13 de la de Esdras, Mesulán; de la de Amarías, Yehojanán;
14 of Malluchi, Jonathan; of Shebaniah, Joseph;	14 de la de Maluk, Jonatán; de la de Secanías, José;

22 As for the Levites, in the days of Eliashib, Joiada, Johanan, and Jaddu-a, there were recorded the heads of fathers' houses; also the priests until the reign of Darius the Persian.	22 Yoyadá, Yojanán y Yadúa, los cabezas de familias sacerdotales, fueron registrados en tiempos de Eliasib, hasta el reinado de Darío el Persa.
23 The sons of Levi, heads of fathers' houses, were written in the Book of the Chronicles until the days of Johanan the son of Eliashib.	23 Los levitas, cabezas de familia, fueron registrados en el libro de las Crónicas hasta la época de Yojanán, nieto de Eliasib.
24 And the chiefs of the Levites: Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua the son of Kadmi-el, with their brethren over against them, to praise and to give thanks, according to the commandment of David the man of God, watch corresponding to watch.	24 Los jefes de los levitas eran Jasabías, Serebías, Josué, Binuy y Cadmiel; sus hermanos se situaban delante en el coro (un coro frente a otro) para alternar con ellos los himnos de alabanza y de acción de gracias, conforme a las normas de David, hombre de Dios. 25 Mattaniah, Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, and Akkub were gatekeepers standing guard at the storehouses of the gates.	25 Matanías, Bacbuquías y Abdías. Mesulán, Talmón y Acub eran porteros y montaban guardia en las puertas de los almacenes.
26 These were in the days of Joiakim the son of Jeshua son of Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah the governor and of Ezra the priest the scribe.	26 Estos vivían en tiempos de Joaquín, hijo de Josué, hijo de Josadac, y en tiempos de Nehemías, el gobernador, y de Esdras, el sacerdote y escriba.
27 And at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought the Levites in all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem to celebrate the dedication with gladness, with thanksgivings and with singing, with cymbals, harps, and lyres.	27 Para la inauguración de la muralla de Jerusalén fueron a buscar a los levitas de todos los lugares donde habitaban, para que viniesen a Jerusalén y se pudiese celebrar la dedicación con júbilo, con himnos de alabanza y con cánticos, al son de címbalos, arpas y cítaras.
28 And the sons of the singers gathered together from the circuit round Jerusalem and from the villages of the Netophathites;	28 Acudieron los cantores levitas de los alrededores de Jerusalén, de las aldeas de Netofat,
29 also from Beth-gilgal and from the region of Geba and Azmaveth; for the singers had built for themselves villages around Jerusalem.	29 de Betguilgal, de los campos de Guibeá y de Azmávet, pues los cantores habían construido sus propios pueblos en los alrededores de Jerusalén.
30 And the priests and the Levites purified themselves; and they purified the people and the gates and the wall.	30 Los sacerdotes y los levitas se purificaron y después purificaron al pueblo, las puertas y la muralla.
31 Then I brought up the princes of Judah upon the wall, and appointed two great companies which gave thanks and went in procession. 35 and certain of the priests' sons with trumpets: Zechariah the son of Jonathan, son of Shemaiah, son of Mattaniah, son of Micaiah, son of Zaccur, son of Asaph;	35 y, de los hijos de los sacerdotes, iban provistos de trompetas los siguientes: Zacarías, hijo de Jonatán, hijo de Semaías, hijo de Matanías, hijo de Miqueas, hijo de Zacur, hijo de Asaf,
36 and his kinsmen, Shemaiah, Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethanel, Judah, and Hanani, with the musical instruments of David the man of God; and Ezra the scribe went before them.	36 y sus hermanos Semaías, Azarel, Milalay, Guilalay, Maay, Natanael, Judá y Jananí, con los instrumentos musicales de David, hombre de Dios. Esdras, el escriba, iba al frente de ellos.
37 At the Fountain Gate they went up straight before them by the stairs of the city of David, at the ascent of the wall, above the house of David, to the Water Gate on the east.	37 Al llegar a la Puerta de la Fuente, subieron derechos por la escalinata de la Ciudad de David, por encima de la muralla, y por la subida del palacio de David, hasta llegar a la Puerta del Agua, a oriente.
38 The other company of those who gave thanks went to the left, and I followed them with half of the people, upon the wall, above the Tower of the Ovens, to the Broad Wall,	38 El segundo coro marchaba por la izquierda. Yo iba detrás de él con la otra mitad de los jefes del pueblo, por encima de la muralla ancha.
39 and above the Gate of Ephraim, and by the Old Gate, and by the Fish Gate and the Tower of Hananel and the Tower of the Hundred, to the Sheep Gate; and they came to a halt at the Gate of the Guard.	39 Pasamos después por la parte de arriba de la Puerta de Efraín, de la Puerta Antigua y de la Puerta de los Peces; después por la Torre de Jananel y la Torre de los Cien, hasta la Puerta de las Ovejas, parándonos en la Puerta de la Cárcel.
40 So both companies of those who gave thanks stood in the house of God, and I and half of the officials with me;	40 Los dos coros se pararon en el templo de Dios, y yo también con la mitad de los jefes
41 and the priests Eliakim, Ma-aseiah, Miniamin, Micaiah, Eli-o-enai, Zechariah, and Hananiah, with trumpets;	41 y los sacerdotes Eliaquín, Maasías, Minyamín, Miqueas, Elyoenay, Zacarías y Jananías, con las trompetas.
42 and Ma-aseiah, Shemaiah, Eleazar, Uzzi, Jehohanan, Malchijah, Elam, and Ezer. And the singers sang with Jezrahiah as their leader.	42 Y también con Maasías, Semaías, Eleazar, Uzí, Yehojanán, Malaquías, Elán y Ezer. Los cantores entonaron sus cantos. Yisrajías era el director.
43 And they offered great sacrifices that day and rejoiced, for God had made them rejoice with great joy; the women and children also rejoiced. And the joy of Jerusalem was heard afar off.	43 Aquel día se ofrecieron sacrificios solemnes; la gente estaba llena de júbilo, pues Dios les había dado un motivo de gran alegría. También las mujeres y los niños se regocijaron, de modo que la alegría de Jerusalén se oía desde lejos.
44 On that day men were appointed over the chambers for the stores, the contributions, the first fruits, and the tithes, to gather into them the portions required by the law for the priests and for the Levites according to the fields of the towns; for Judah rejoiced over the priests and the Levites who ministered.	44 Aquel día se nombraron los responsables de los almacenes destinados a guardar las contribuciones, las primicias y los diezmos. Debían reunir en ellos, según los campos de las diversas ciudades, las porciones legales correspondientes a los sacerdotes y levitas, pues Judá se complacía viendo a los sacerdotes y levitas en funciones.
45 And they performed the service of their God and the service of purification, as did the singers and the gatekeepers, according to the command of David and his son Solomon.	45 Ellos guardaban las normas relativas a Dios y el rito de la purificación. También los cantores y los porteros actuaban según las prescripciones de David y de su hijo Salomón.
46 For in the days of David and Asaph of old there was a chief of the singers, and there were songs of praise and thanksgiving to God.	46 Pues ya en los tiempos antiguos de David y de Asaf existían jefes de cantores y cánticos de alabanza y de acción de gracias a Dios.
47 And all Israel in the days of Zerubbabel and in the days of Nehemiah gave the daily portions for the singers and the gatekeepers; and they set apart that which was for the Levites; and the Levites set apart that which was for the sons of Aaron.	47 En tiempos de Zorobabel y en tiempos de Nehemías todo Israel daba a los cantores y a los porteros las porciones correspondientes a sus necesidades de cada día. También daban a los levitas las cosas consagradas. Y los levitas entregaban las cosas sagradas a los hijos de Aarón.
