1 These are the priests and the Levites who came up with Zerubbabel the son of She-alti-el, and Jeshua: Seraiah, Jeremiah, Ezra,	1 Questi sono i sacerdoti e i leviti che salirono con Zorobabele figlio di Salatici e con Giosuè: Saeraia, Geremia, Esdra,

8 And the Levites: Jeshua, Binnui, Kadmi-el, Sherebiah, Judah, and Mattaniah, who with his brethren was in charge of the songs of thanksgiving.	8 Leviti: Iesua, Bennui, Cedmihel, Sarebia, Irida, Matania, preposti ai cantici, essi e i loro fratelli,

22 As for the Levites, in the days of Eliashib, Joiada, Johanan, and Jaddu-a, there were recorded the heads of fathers' houses; also the priests until the reign of Darius the Persian.	22 I leviti nei giorni di Eliasib, di Ioiada, di Iohanan, di Teddoa furono iscritti come capi di famiglia, i sacerdoti sotto il regno di Dario re persiano.

24 And the chiefs of the Levites: Hashabiah, Sherebiah, and Jeshua the son of Kadmi-el, with their brethren over against them, to praise and to give thanks, according to the commandment of David the man of God, watch corresponding to watch.	24 I capi dei leviti erano Asebia, Serebia, Tosile figlio di Cedmihel, e i loro fratelli che a turno lodavano e benedicevano, secondo gli ordini di David uomo di Dio e facevan pure per ordine il loro servizio.
25 Mattaniah, Bakbukiah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, and Akkub were gatekeepers standing guard at the storehouses of the gates.	25 Matania, Becbecia, Obedia, Mosallam. Telinoli, Accub, erano custodi delle porte e dei vestiboli dinanzi alle porte.
26 These were in the days of Joiakim the son of Jeshua son of Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah the governor and of Ezra the priest the scribe.	26 Questi furono al tempo di Ioacim figlio di Giosuè figlio di Iosedec, e al tempo di Nehemia governatore e di Esdra sacerdote e scriba.
27 And at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought the Levites in all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem to celebrate the dedication with gladness, with thanksgivings and with singing, with cymbals, harps, and lyres.	27 Per la dedicazione delle mura di Gerusalemme furon ricercati i leviti da tutti i loro luoghi, per farli venire a Gerusalemme a far la dedicazione con gioia, ringraziamenti, cantici, cembali, salteri, cetre.
28 And the sons of the singers gathered together from the circuit round Jerusalem and from the villages of the Netophathites;	28 I figli dei cantori si radunarono dalla campagna intorno a Gerusalemme, dai villaggi di Netufati,
29 also from Beth-gilgal and from the region of Geba and Azmaveth; for the singers had built for themselves villages around Jerusalem.	29 dalla casa di Galgal e dalle contrade di Geba e di Azmavet: i cantori s'eran fatti dei villaggi nei dintorni di Gerusalemme.
30 And the priests and the Levites purified themselves; and they purified the people and the gates and the wall.	30 I sacerdoti e i leviti, purificatisi, purificarono il popolo, le porte e le mura.
31 Then I brought up the princes of Judah upon the wall, and appointed two great companies which gave thanks and went in procession. One went to the right upon the wall to the Dung Gate;	31 Poi io, fatti salire sulle mura i principi di Giuda, formai due grandi cori che cantavano lodi. (Il primo) andò a destra, sul muro, verso la porta stercoraria.
32 and after them went Hoshaiah and half of the princes of Judah,	32 Dietro a questi andò Osaia, la metà dei principi di Giuda,

34 Judah, Benjamin, Shemaiah, and Jeremiah,	34 Dei figli dei sacerdoti colle trombe: Zaccaria figlio di lonatan, figlio di Semeia, figlio di Matania, figlio di Micaia, figlio di Zecur, figlio di Asaf,
35 and certain of the priests' sons with trumpets: Zechariah the son of Jonathan, son of Shemaiah, son of Mattaniah, son of Micaiah, son of Zaccur, son of Asaph;	35 coi suoi fratelli Semeia, Azareel, Maialai, Galalai, Maai, Natanael, Giuda e Anani cogli strumenti musicali di David, uomo di Dio; Esdra, lo scriba, li precedeva. Alla porta della fontana presero a dritto,
36 and his kinsmen, Shemaiah, Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Maai, Nethanel, Judah, and Hanani, with the musical instruments of David the man of God; and Ezra the scribe went before them.	36 di faccia a loro per la scalinata della città di David, fino alla salita del muro sopra la casa di David e fino alla porta delle acque a Oriente.
37 At the Fountain Gate they went up straight before them by the stairs of the city of David, at the ascent of the wall, above the house of David, to the Water Gate on the east.	37 Il secondo coro di quei che rendevano grazie camminava dalla parte opposta, e io dietro a loro colla metà del popolo, sopra, la muraglia, passando oltre la torri? ei forni, fino al muro larghissimo,
38 The other company of those who gave thanks went to the left, and I followed them with half of the people, upon the wall, above the Tower of the Ovens, to the Broad Wall,	38 poi oltrepassando la porta d'Efraim, la porta vecchia, la porta dei pesci, la torre di Ananeel, la torre di Emat e anche la porta del gregge, si fermarono alla porta della prigione.
39 and above the Gate of Ephraim, and by the Old Gate, and by the Fish Gate and the Tower of Hananel and the Tower of the Hundred, to the Sheep Gate; and they came to a halt at the Gate of the Guard.	39 ai due cori di quelli che cantavan lodi si fermarono nella casa di Dio, e così feci io, la metà dei magistrati che erano con me,
40 So both companies of those who gave thanks stood in the house of God, and I and half of the officials with me;	40 e i sacerdoti Eliachim, Alaasia, Miamin, Michea, Elioenai, Zaccaria, Anania, colle trombe,
41 and the priests Eliakim, Ma-aseiah, Miniamin, Micaiah, Eli-o-enai, Zechariah, and Hananiah, with trumpets;	41 Maasia, Semeia, Eleazaro, Azzi, Iohanan. Melchia, Elam, Ezer. I cantori cantavano ad alta voce, e Iezraia era loro capo.
42 and Ma-aseiah, Shemaiah, Eleazar, Uzzi, Jehohanan, Malchijah, Elam, and Ezer. And the singers sang with Jezrahiah as their leader.	42 In quel giorno immolarono grandi vittime e si rallegrarono, perchè Dio aveva loro dato una gran consolazione; anche le loro mogli e i loro figli si rallegrarono, e si udì di lontano l'allegria di Gerusalemme.
43 And they offered great sacrifices that day and rejoiced, for God had made them rejoice with great joy; the women and children also rejoiced. And the joy of Jerusalem was heard afar off.	43 In quel giorno stabilirono anche degli uomini come sopraintendenti alle camere del tesoro, alle libazioni, alle primizie, alle decime, affinchè per mezzo di essi i capi della città vi facessero portare dentro, con pompa d'un ringraziamento, il necessario pei sacerdoti e pei leviti, perchè Giuda si era rallegrato a causa dei sacerdoti e dei leviti che erano presenti
44 On that day men were appointed over the chambers for the stores, the contributions, the first fruits, and the tithes, to gather into them the portions required by the law for the priests and for the Levites according to the fields of the towns; for Judah rejoiced over the priests and the Levites who ministered.	44 e che adempiron le leggi del loro Dio, le leggi dell'espiazioni, come i cantori, i portinai (che fecero) secondo gli ordini di David e di Salomone suo figlio Mah antico, dal tempo di David e di Asaf erano stati, stabiliti i capi dei cantori che cantavano inni e lodi a Dio).
45 And they performed the service of their God and the service of purification, as did the singers and the gatekeepers, according to the command of David and his son Solomon.	45 Al tempo di Zorobabele e di Nehemia tutto Israele dava giorno per giorno le loro porzioni ai cantori e ai portinai, e presentava l'oblazione santa ai leviti, e i leviti presentavano l'oblazione santa ai figli d'Aronne.
46 For in the days of David and Asaph of old there was a chief of the singers, and there were songs of praise and thanksgiving to God.
47 And all Israel in the days of Zerubbabel and in the days of Nehemiah gave the daily portions for the singers and the gatekeepers; and they set apart that which was for the Levites; and the Levites set apart that which was for the sons of Aaron.
